About South Central Human Resource Agency

South Central Human Resource Agency (SCHRA) is a non-profit organization that has been serving low-income individuals and communities for over 50 years. The agency's mission is to provide access to educational, economic, nutritional, and social services that promote self-reliance through partnerships with local, state, and federal resources.

SCHRA offers a wide range of programs and services designed to help individuals and families in need. These include Head Start programs for children from birth to age five, which provide early childhood education and development services; the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which helps eligible households pay their energy bills; the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP), which provides food assistance to low-income households; and the Senior Community Service Employment Program (SCSEP), which helps older adults find employment opportunities.

In addition to these programs, SCHRA also offers job training and placement services through its Workforce Development program. This program provides job seekers with skills training, resume writing assistance, interview preparation tips, job search resources, and more. SCHRA also partners with local employers to connect job seekers with employment opportunities in their communities.

One of SCHRA's core values is community involvement.
