It must not take a fully functional resume to work here. These people are zero when it comes to customer service and a one when it comes to being helpful.

I had a few Hiccups to getting my CWP but I spoke with MR. Garmann and he sorted it all out and even called me to let me know he shipped it to me. Great people here and very helpful thanks guys!

Major Owens, the person in charge is highly unfit. I sent a letter, which he refused to sign for. But later responded. The letter explained how Chief David Green of Wellford, robbed me of $150. Major Owens responded with "not my money, not my problem" Owens did nothing to Green for his misconduct and abuse of power. Owens' position as Major, needs to be revoked immediately because he does not uphold any laws. He's a white supremises and illegally working against people of color.

As a past victim of violent crime, it is disappointing to read SLED and Mark Keel's aggressive emphasis on cannabis and other non violent crimes. Seems rather self serving and corrupt - guess its easier than going after hardened, violent a**holes that actually do reduce quality of life & safety.

horrible just like any other law inforcement down here .I try to call to report drug dealings and a very bad rental; home yet they do nothing just like the lee county law officers here did nothing !!! They allow bad people to harrass you saying they can blast their music loud in the county they can harrass your home and threaten you here in south caroilina .I had a video of a very bad guy living next door gang related and yet no one did nothing and wrote a report like it was nothing .Yet this guy is a;so dealing drugs has much people coming and going and on probation renting and the deputys here allow him to harrass my home where we own and pay taxes !!! the deputy says he allow cause he pays rent i never seen such terrible cops down here yet they threaten to lock me up if i call them here i thought cops were here to protect us i feel more scared of them then the bad people .So sorry i moved here we cant even sell this house cause of this bad home next door and these deputys wont help or this sled so the bad guys win down here get away dealing their drugs and harrassing good home owners .they really need better laws to make it safe like ny living in fear .

173 days later and I still haven't received my CWP. I've called, I've emailed, I've emailed again. I've been told I was approved and it was mailed on June 26th, it never arrived. Gave them the benefit of the doubt, maybe it disappeared in the mail. Asked them to resend, it never arrived. This is a joke. This process is supposed to take 90 days. It has been almost 6 months since SLED acknowledges receiving my paperwork. This is ridiculous that I am left grasping at straws and leaving poor Google review in light of a state agency shutting down lines of communication with me. CWP is a right, one which I have paid for and completed the required training for. This feels like my right is being taken away from me due to gross negligence or pure simple ineptitude at SLED. Now I'm sure they have better things to do than approve and mail CWP's but again, 6 months is f***ing absurd.

Open minded, easy too locate and they offer a wide range of services throughout the state to help SC.

It shouldn't have to take 3 months to get your cwp(me).....other states are faster then South Carolina......but i find out that the staff is short handed.....no one wanted to transfer to that department.....well hire people straight to that department then......

I wish I could give 0 stars!!! I was deployed 2 years ago and mailed in all my paperwork for my CWP while I was on Active Duty orders and waited over 6 months with no response. As I returned home from deployment 8 months after submission of my packet they say they never received it. Granted, I didn't give my wife specific instructions to retain the receipts from the cashiers check and tracking from the post office so I couldn't prove what happen to it but I never received it back.

Here I am 2 years later, resubmitting my CWP again, just mailed it yesterday and forgot one of the forms in my packet. I called the number and explained the situation and that I work here in Columbia and could bring the form by to go with my packet. The lady was exceptionally RUDE and told me to wait till my packet was returned to me then mail back to correct packet. So not willing to work with me or go out of her way to help me out after I have already been through so much in getting this packet complete and not the mention the money I spent just to mail it in, get insurance, tracking and certify to make sure it makes it there this time, just to wait another 6 months to get my packet back then another 6 months to re-process it, so I may have my CWP a year from now. I thought the VA was bad but SLED has definitely moved to the top of the list.

I have a friend that has a stolen motorcycle and they have been working on this case for a year. Still no results or end in site. I think the FBI would do a much better job.

Ignorant and dated views of this law enforcement agency need to change.
