UNPROFESSIONAL. I WAS OVERCHARGED AND THIS COMPANY...

UNPROFESSIONAL. I WAS OVERCHARGED AND THIS COMPANY WAS COMPLETELY UNRESPONSIVE WHEN I TRIED TO GET A REFUND. No real business acts this way. I was overcharged at Catalina hotel's Maxine's Restaurant and spent weeks to speak to someone and get a refund, and I got no response. Phone numbers don't work, the lines are constantly busy, my calls were dropped, I was put on hold and receptionist never came back, e-mails to the GM were not returned. Not to mention my breakfast was under cooked, the wait staff claimed they didn't open for another 30 minutes when come to find out, they're open 24 hours.

Chesterfield was in a Great location. Modern rooms and clean. Friendly staff. However, we had to repeatedly ask for clean towels before actually getting them, but they didn't get the dirty towels out the room until we requested housekeeping. Housekeeping didnt fully clean room even after repeatedly requesting cleaning. Mini suite is "mini."

I recently stayed at the Shelley Hotel in Miami, Florida (managed by South Beach Group). Friday, 09/27/19 - Sunday, 09/29/19.

I was mistakenly charged an extra parking fee of $37.45 (the valet parking fees were already paid for). The extra valet parking charge was NOT an authorized charge!

I have been contacting the management team for an entire month in order to recieve my refund! I've contacted Niurka Fernandez, Marissa Suarez, Angel Solano and many more. It's been 1 month and still no refund. I've sent several messages and called the hotel with no response. I expect some sort of communication to be sent back. This management company CLEARLY does not know how to handle customer service issues. The staff should be trained better and as a customer, I should not have to keep contacting them to recieve my refund!

Nightmare Facility - steal your money
My wife and arrived 2 hours after having to wait at the airport as their shuttle took several trips before finally coming to get my wife and I. We got to the hotel and checked-in, but the front desk said we had to wait for the room to be checked that it was cleaned.... not clean at 10:30pm???
We were also charged a parking fee which we didn't have a car but was supposed to just be a hold on our card. My wife and i got into our room and then dropped off our luggage. Since restaurant was closed we walked down to CVS 3 blocks away and bought snacks and bottled water for our trip. Upon arriving back to our room, there were bugs Everywhere in the bathroom. My wife and I grabbed our things and went to front desk. They refused to give us a refund, even though we hadn't touched a thing. They forced us out onto the street and refused to let us use the connection to wifi which was now midnight. We have called the BBB health department, and fire marshal and told the hotel was cited for the health inspection due to poor conditions. The hotel kept our fee for the day and the car fee and charged us an additional fee that I forgot what it was. After this nightmare hotel we were lucky enough that a holiday inn in downtown Miami took us in and offered us a broken suite room, because they literally had nothing available. We took it anyways. The broken room was actually a thawed microfridge with a touch of water on the carpet near the fridge. Did not affect our stay in any way. Thanks to the Holiday inn.
Oh I forgot to post how the Southbeach group continues to email call and harass to come back to their hotel. Yet the GM's refuse to take any calls and refuse to refund any money they already stole by forcing us to sign their scam agreement before allowing you upstairs. DO NOT STAY IN ANY OF THEIR PARTNER HOTELS EITHER!!! Purchasers beware.

Between the Chesterfield and the Chelsea it s a toss up as to which was the worst. The rooms were marginal at best. South Beach Group seems to think a coat of paint and new linens offsets the walls, doors and closets that are broken and dirty. Our bathroom door at the Chesterfield wouldn t close. The room keys kept getting demagnetized and housekeeping was a joke.

We were charged for using things from the minibar even though we took nothing from it. When I tried to challenge this I was told to take it up with the general manager, who was never on property and didn t return phone calls or emails. Chargeback was the only course of action.

The only consistencies are the total lack of concern and professionalism from the staff and the $9.99 per night class of clientele.

In my personal opinion if it says South Beach Group reconsider you re choice of accommodations.

Wish there was an option for 0 stars. I checked into this hotel at 11PM on 12/14, got to room 411 and there were LIVE roaches everywhere and spiders hanging from the ceilings. Me and my friend called the front desk to make them aware of the situation & proceeded to go out. When we got back at 3AM we immediately checked out and went to the hyatt. The reservation line as well as Rudy the manager were very nasty over the phone about me requesting a refund due to us not staying & the condition of the room. DO NOT BOOK HERE. There are several other reviews that mention the roaches as well. South beach group needs to better train their employees and properly accommodate their customers as necessary. I will be reporting them to the BBB as well. They have a roach infestation. Frankly if we did not sleep there and they are refusing to return my money that is FRAUD. Rudy also said there is nothing he can do and hung up on me.

I want to specifacly call out Jessica she works in sales and sucks at her job her only concern is being paid. This is my second year with a horrblie experience with her. When I wanted to talk to her supieror about it I was ignored rudly. Poor services very disappointed

WORST stay ever. Very unprofessional and racist location. Heard from experienced but did not believe them until I stayed here. Manager called the police on my my friends for walking to my room and followed them all the way to my room. My other friends have been staying there as well on the floor a love me and the manger has been harassing them as well but does not harass anyone else. Ruined the whole trip honestly I came from Maryland to go on vacation in Miami and they have made it such a hard time for me. Would not recommend if I can leave 0 stars I would.

South Beach Group refused to cancel and refund my 2 night reservation, two days after Hurricane Matthew. I was unable to travel to Miami because of water damage sustained to my house. The reservations manager, Carolina, the only person who could authorize this cancellation, dodged my calls and deflected all decisions to her manager, informing me that she needs to wait for approval. Then, she'd not respond. A total lack of decency and professionalism after a massive natural disaster, and I'd recommend taking your business to an above board hotel instead.

I stayed there for 2 nights with my girl, literally checked in, and slept over there, since the rest of the time we were out dining and clubbing.
First of, the hotel is super overprices. I don't mind paying high prices, but not willing to pay something that only looks luxury and upscale in the pics, but in reality it's all cheap old furniture with spots and marks of unknown substance on the sheets (yakss!!!)
Also, they have a fridge and some beverages which we never even used, since as I mentioned above, we came in there just to sleep, we didn't eat anything in the hotel room, nor drank anything.
They had a mess in the lobby, since they had construction going on, which was very unpleasant too. Dust and dirt in lobby. No legit front desk.
Everything so unprofessional and cheap.

And at the end, they charged us for the drinks we never used. You know how they take away $200 deposit from you? And supposed to return it back within several business days? So guess what? They charged us for the bottles and drinks we never even touched. In fact we didn't even open the fridge.
Soap and shampoo are cheap quality substances.. Overall, very poor service and high prices for some sh%%%ty service..

Stay aware, my friends.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! THIS IS THE EMAIL I SENT THEM AND THE THINGS THAT TOOK PLACE!
Our stay has been beyond disappointing and disgusting. Upon arrival we had to wait approximately one hour to check in due to issues being handled for other guest at the desk. This was understandable and we patiently waited. Finally receiving our room key we went into our rooms and were unpleasantly surprised to find one of the rooms had a strong pungent mildew odor. Not only did it have an odor there was a collection of gnats on the bed closer to the window that refused to move even once swatted at. Due to being an asthmatic I definitely could not stay in these type of accommodations. We attempted to ask housekeeping to call the front desk to have our rooms changed since they were not answering the phone when we attempted to call. Due to the language barrier this could not happen and the pregnant house keeping supervisor was very rude in helping us. We went back to the front desk to get this issue rectified and Gregori was more than happy to change the one room. Gregori went beyond his way to ensure everything was to our liking.
However, this was not the end to a bad experience at your establishment. Around 6am on Sunday morning. An infections of bugs and termites was discovered in our room. Prior to this we noticed a pungent rotten egg smell arising from the bathroom drain. The sink and tub had multiple bugs. The front desk was notified immediately. Due to the long wait of someone coming, I decided to go to the front desk to see what the hold up was. Finally we saw a maintenance man and he didn't know where the infestation of bugs were coming from. He sprayed the drains with bleach to rid of the bugs. The room reeked of bleach which caused me to have severe respiratory issues and bronchial spams due to my asthma. Therefore I switched rooms with one of my friends. Once returning to my room we discovered that bugs were now in our bed. This was the last straw for us. We immediately went to the front desk very upset and voiced what happened. Please understand that these accommodations are not acceptable. Gregori stated that he would change our rooms into another building and give us a suite. He advised us to pack up our things and someone would take them to our new room. Due to the events that had occurred I was more than ready to leave this sub par establishment and ask for a full refund because this was absolutely the worse hotel I have ever stayed at. Gregori's demeanor and warming hospitality was the only thing that kept me somewhat calm. Once packing and trying to shake out all of our belongings, I found that the bugs had also gotten into my bags were I keep all my supplies for the maintenance of my braces. Therefore, I had to throw out my toothbrush, water pik, flossing loops, wax, and braces bumpers. These things now have to be repurchased due to the inadequate living conditions of your hotel. I turly would like some type of reimbursement for the multiple issues we encountered during this trip, the stress and the fact new things must be purchased due to bugs getting into our personal items. This was suppose to be a celebratory trip for my best friend future nuptials but instead it turned into a nightmare of events and a lot of wasted time. Pictures have been taking of everything and has been attached to this email. Gregori advised to email our issues since he cant issues refunds. I was hoping to speak with someone in person but i have since changed my flight to an earlier tuesday flight since i am more than ready to leave this establishment. Please forward to the GM Laura and I will be contacting corporate as well. I truly hope the GM will be as helpful, accommodating, and understanding as Gregori.

Worst customer service I have ever dealt with. I showed up to one of their affiliate hotels after driving 5 hours from Jacksonville and never checked in. I had a family emergency where I had to turn around and drive back because I had just found out my mother was diagnosed with a brain tumor and was being scheduled for emergency surgery. The hotel offered me zero compassion and said my reservation would be considered a no show and would still be charged. I even asked if they would consider giving me a credit that I could use to stay with them at a future date in which they refused saying they don t offer that. I will be telling everyone including all my colleagues I know how heartless this place is and to never stay with them or any other hotel they are affiliated with.

Do not stay here! Make sure you bring bottled water to wash with. The water stopped in the room we were staying. I tried calling the front desk and the phone was broken. Went down stairs and the reception told me "there is nothing she can do about it until after check out." There were multiple issues during my stay i.e. Wifi doesn't work, roaches in the sink, and rude receptionist. I no longer trust "other" apps to give accurate information about hotels.

I rented a room at the Seaside Apartment Hotel, part of the South Beach Group. From the pictures online it was a large room with two queen beds and a walk in kitchen. When I arrived they gave me a room the size of a large closet with a double bed. When I complained to HomeAway, where I rented the place from, South Beach Group lied said it was a comparable room with two beds. I was forwarded the emails and couldn't believe it. Fortunately I had pictures of the room, which they probably weren't expecting. The room's cable didn't work, it was dirty and the place was just gross. Don't be fooled by them and stay elsewhere.

I am a recent customer of Oceanside Hotel. I booked one bedroom with two queen beds for July 21-July 24, 2017, for three guest. Upon our arrival, we discovered that the room (I believe, 2219b) was very dirty such as hair on the floor, unclean bathroom, etc.We immediately notified Axle, who worked at the front desk, and asked for housekeeping to clean the room. Axle informed us that housekeeping was unavailable during the late evening and gave us a new room.

Once we arrived to the second room(2230), we discovered that yet again the room was dirty, such as hair on the bed (we noticed before even sitting down), hair on the floor, unclean bathroom, exposed electrical wire around the light switch, and a stain that appeared to be blood on the floor, and unclean sheets. Once again we immediately notified Axle requesting accommodations or a different room. Axle informed us that there were no more rooms available.

Therefore, we asked if we could get a refund for the following two nights. Axle informed us that we could only receive a refund for July 22-July 24,2017. In addition, Axle stated that upon giving us a refund, we could not remain in the hotel for the night of July 21,2017 as well. We explained to Axle that we had already paid for that night, had no place else to go and only wanted a refund for the following two nights because the rooms were dirty.

Axle told us that we could not get a refund and that he would give us time to gather our things. We sat in the room calling every hotel in the area but was unable to locate any vacancies. Axle came back to the room around 4 am and urged us to leave or else he would call the police. We reminded axle that he was the one who said that we could take our time and that we had no place else to go.

Unfortunately for us, due to possibly not moving fast enough out of a room, that we paid for, Axle called the police and we were escorted off of the premises for NO reason. Furthermore, we were not given a refund, although we paid for the night of July 21, 2017. Police told us that we could not even sit out front to make a call to lyft. We walked a few blocks away and was finally able to make a call to lyft to take us back to the airport, for about 12 hours, where we slept in the lobby until check in time at a near by hotel.

This felt very discriminatory to us, as we are minorities. We are still very upset and would like this situation to be rectified and staff to be held responsible for such poor service. I called twice on Saturday, July 22,2017 to speak to a manager and was told that no one was available to speak to me. Monday, I finally spoke to your manager on duty, Alexis Garcia. I gave him the details of the incident and was told that Axle reported in the system that we were a no show.

Thank goodness for technology because we have more than enough proof that we were there such as lyft driver statement to and from the hotel, pictures of the dirty rooms, with location attached, and the bank statement of the deposit that Axle claimed he put back on the card but has not appeared yet. We were not offered another room at any of your other hotels, although my spouse inquired about this as a option before requesting a refund. We were told by Axle that there were no vacancies at the other hotels as well, although we did not see him even check or call.

This situation was one that was extremely traumatizing, as we were in an unfamiliar area with all of our belongings at 4 am. We have never experienced such disrespect and disregard by hotel staff. We were truly afraid as we walked down the street, completely confused as to what lead to the nights events. Lastly, it appeared as though the security guard, a light skin gentleman, whose name I do not recall, was very professional and tried his best to assist Axle in accommodating us. Unfortunately, Axle did not listen.

I received an email stating that Alicia, the General Manager, wanted to "personally handle our reservation" on our next visit but she has not offered a refund for the night we were escorted off the premises by the police.

good staff, however the group "south beach group" it includes like thieves ignoring the mails of their customers, by canceling rooms without warning. The cleaning is not done well every day (soil not cleaned, ...) they forced me to pay a second reservation or I slept outside.A scandal. I hope at least that my deposit will be returned to me !!! (they still have not replied to my email)

I hired a 4 star hotel for Booking. For me the Metropole South Beach has half a star. They did not comply with the room, cockroach in the kitchen, garbage in the entrance of the hotel, the front desk people sleeping in their place of work. I raised the complaints to the general manager and replied that they would not refund me after 12 days. A disaster, do not waste your money.

Weird hotel. Room was a decent size for the price and location. Floor was concrete and kinda dirty. Mattress was comfy enough but didn't have a boxspring, mattress protector, or even a fitted sheet (non-fitted sheet was the only thing between us and the mattress). Bathroom was missing a shower curtain liner, and it was impossible not to get water on the bathroom floor unless you used the shower curtain inside the shower. I could go on, but the gist is the room was kinda weird.

This hotel company stole $3,000 from my room!
In February I checked out at 5am to catch my early flight.
When I arrived at home at 8am I realized I left 3 containers of (7) 14k gold bracelet sets worth $3k in the safe. I quickly called the property manager Daniel. He acquired them and told me to ship a prepaid package to ship them back! Okay so I did and they signed the delivery,... great right?
It's more than 3 months later now. I emailed atleast once every week and called everyday. The property manager has since quit... and now the acting manager refuses to call me back!
Stay away from this hotel chain!... I cry at night because they stole my fortune.

Please send it back to me! What else do I have to do?! Please!!!

Review of the Hollywood Beach Suites, staff and management (South Beach Group)

Do you like muffled music and slamming bass while you try to sleep? Well, this is the place for you!

The room was right next to their Restaurant (Taco Beach Shack), owned by the same company that owns Hollywood Beach Suites + Hotel. The restaurant pumped music straight up until 2:15AM, even though the staff will tell you that it stops at 11PM. They must know that people complain about this, because the hotel lobby staff dips out at 11PM knowing that this is a constant issue and they will not have to hear it. When we tried to call back at around 11:30PM, it just rang and rang and eventually hung up, no option to leave a message.

After an incredibly lousy night sleep due to bass thumping hard enough to vibrate the walls, I tried to voice my concerns to the front desk staff, but he seemed like he could not have cared less and never heard of the issue. Well, the reviews beg to differ and I found a few on various sites while I was staring at the ceiling the night before checkout and our flight back home.

Aside from the bone shaking music volume, the hotel room was not very clean. For example, the shower was dirty and walls had odd stains and I think the last time the windows were cleaned was when they put them in.

Oh yeah, and after voicing the issues to the front desk staff, he gave me a card to the manager while simultaneously offered a nothing can be done here. Well, save yourself the time because that manager cared about as much as the front desk staff. After emailing the manager, I was given a "canned answer" and offered a discount on my next stay. HA!
