One of my favourite places food is good a nice relaxing place

Food was average we had ribeye steak, the service was hit and miss the gentleman was very friendly but very forgetful we had to order twice. The other staff was only interested with the large tables and the manager was ignorant seemed to only talk to the regulars.

Good food friendly staff! Was extra good thanks to eat out to help out.

So insulting its unbelievable. Not allowed to sit outside and smoke with a coffee in an empty seating area, but allowed dogs inside in a restaurant with people eating. im gob smacked

Food was bland basic over cooked .
Chicken skewers starters and cod & burger main meal.

Lovely spot in the sun to drink coffee, eat cake, and watch the world go by.

Fabulous view of South Beach & Caldi Island great food at a reasonable price.

A really enjoyable meal. The cockles and bacon with laver bread sauce on sourdough toast was outstanding.

Lovely setting just by the beach. Slow table service. Takes ages for them to take your drinks order then ages to fetch it. I'd much rather walk up to a bar and order myself rather than hang about for folk. Looks like the standard review for this place, under staffed for the amount of tables. Staff look grumpy and not happy. It's premium price too.

Great location with fabulous potential, but on the whole we felt a little let down.

Attentive, polite Staff. Menu needs some work, especially the kids menu. Reasonably priced.

Met up with Family here for a meal for 6 (4 Adults & 2 Kids). On the whole the food was good, a little limited, especially given the location. Being next to the Sea, you would expect sea food to feature heavily. My Niece ordered the Risotto from the kids menu and we were more than disappointed when it arrived - a tiny portion no bigger that a small mug - when we questioned the portion, she was given a small portion of fries "on the house".

The deserts also need some review - they seem a little lazy, especially the Eton Mess - just a pile of cream topped with very little meringue or flavour.

Keep trying guys - I am sure you'll get there, but on this occasion, just 3 starts.

It is always staffed with nice, polite and helpful servers. The menu is varied and tasty too and reasonably priced. It has a lovely ambiance inside with tasteful furnishings. It has great views of the beach, sea, coastline and Caldey Island.

Great location, and nicely decked out place. Food was tasty and reasonably priced. One star off for the service, whilst perfectly pleasant, they weren t massively attentive.

Visited today (27 January). Staff were excellent: friendly and helpful throughout. Food was excellent. Thoroughly recommended.

Staff were rude, didn't seem to have any idea what time food service finished and/or what was on the menu. We had to send cups back THREE times as they were filthy dirty. Have been here several times and quite frankly it gets worse each time. Won't be visiting again

Very poor service, staff would rather stand at the bar talking than check if everything was okay. It took over 20 minutes to clear our empty plates away and it was not even busy

Dog friendly but no real ale. Mostly posh lagers and ciders. Didn't try the food.

Not enough staff to run the place properly. Visited twice, food better the first time round. Best part is the location.

A nice little bay with a cafe a bar ect. Dog friendly too with doggy icecream.

Enjoys a drink or meal over looking the beach n sea

Great place to start or stop off from a walk along the beachfront. Welcoming staff and good selection of food and drink.

Disappointed, ironman weekend and couldn't cope with demand. Resulting in us being advised that kitchen was closed! Surely you would plan for this weekend.

Lovely food and atmosphere. Has improved greatly since last year as under new management. Service was a little slow which is why only 4 stars.

Service a disgrace ordered drinks in evening wasn t busy at all waited 35 min tried to get waiters attention he completely ignored us serving other people and pretending to look busy after nearly 40 min went to bar to ask where our drinks were woman behind counter said here they on bar weren t even our drinks so we left service was the worst rude and will never go there again only reason I give one star is I couldn t review unless I rated it but Defo no star at all

Service was very slow and the food mediocre. Rump steak was fried, the lobster ravioli were floating in the oil, only the mussels were very good!

Ordering was difficult as you had to use their app to order and it would not download so we left. The aspect towards the beach is good but the service needs to change to a more customer friendly system. The covid 19 situation could be around until 2021 so improvements need to be made.

Good food , staff was friendly . Four stars only because kitchen staff went into a meeting and couldn't order any desert

Great Location, Nice in the summer. Good Food but not much choice.

Service is incredibly slow and food service is erratic i.e. the 12-5pm menu was only available after 5pm the other day. I get that seasons are changing at the moment, but this is a prime location and should be full to bursting all year round, if the offer was better than it is.

Great location, friendly staff (apparently more hurried due to the owners trying to make more money at the expense of their ability to give exceptional service*) and... fantastic food.

Real noce bar and restaurant, if your sitting outside its drinks only by table servise, the staff will ask you to dowload the app so you can order food or drinks at the restaurant.

Reasonably priced good quality food and beer (Peroni!). Sit inside or our with great views of the beech. Use Battery Road car park for easy short walk to bar and beach. Staff are helpful and professional, and bar is modern and very high standard. Well worth a visit. Dog friendly.

Dropped in for coffee after visiting the beach and with enough time remaining on our car park ticket. Felt like a fast food restaurant (but not especially fast!). Dirty crockery. Had to hunt to find an acceptable saucer for the coffee cup. Has a great location - monopoly. Disappointing

Super friendly staff and great food and facilities. Added bonus: they adore dogs and I encourage you to come here. Also, it faces south beach which is so ideal for a nice day out.

Very slow service. Used app to order food and drink, only one person making drinks. Ordered a drink on its own, came before the first order, had to wait over 40mins for food. Kids dessert was missing a doughnut

Go to the Buccaneer. This place has a sea view yes but if you are thirsty you can't buy a drink from the bar. Then have to wait an age to get table service while they run around doing nothing in particular and making you feel it should be a privilege to just be there. Food is nice bit over priced and lacks choice. Little beer selection and only person who didn't have to wait for food was the waitress eating behind us. Talk about insult to injury. It was pretty empty too so how do they cope when busy? I guess most custom is not repeat business and so do not realise. Was our third time but now our last. Buccaneer was rammed but lovely beer garden, served quickly with varied kids meals that include a drink and fruit. Dindn't feel bored and unwelcome.

Excellent table service and food. Food freshly cooked, so expect a short wait, but it's worth the wait for the high standard of crusine. The staff go above and beyond to make you welcome, our server was Kat, she was very professional and a pleasure to meet. Thanks Kat for making our visit so enjoyable.

We've been here twice now, towards the end of 2015 and now in 2016. Both times the service and food have been outstanding and it's child friendly too. We'll more than likely be back.
