Lovely small site with good facilities and on site amenities. I would come here again! Staff friendly and helpful, the only down side is we had to get someone to clean the sofa bed of pet hairs and the boiler had to be looked at but the staff were quick and efficient so it was no bother really.

Although our caravan was hired at a special offer it was quite scruffy, very stained carpets and although we knew dogs had been in the caravan it had a very strong smell of dogs. The freezer although clean had an unpleasant smell to it. Also the sofas were quite badly marks with a very strong smell of dogs. I wouldn't recommend caravan G54 to hire for a holiday. Also the gas Safe certificate had run out, the toilet constantly ran also the hot tap in the bathroom.

A lovely park tucked away in a beautiful part of Devon. The setting is a real treat with incredible views over St Mary's Bay just a few mins walk away with direct access from the park. That's if you can navigate the 117 steps.

Friendly staff, good food, convenience store is well stocked and the heated pool is comfortably warm inside and out.

Brixham itself is a place I could quite happily live and this holiday park is the perfect base to see it all. I want to go back, NOW!!

Location and site was lovely and very clean... Entertainment was lacking staff and interaction, very mediocre, however they were pleasant and it didn't spoil the holiday but needs updating for adults and a more fun approach..

Horrendous place. Worst holiday ever and had to leave a week early. Spent the first two days of our holiday moving into three different caravans all were as bad as each other dirty floors, sinks and toilet. Rusty toilet roll holders and fridge. The smell in one of the caravan was unbearable. The arcade was tiny and half the machines didn't work entertainment was shocking the worst I've ever seen. Electricy went on Sunday night and we were told we could sleep in club house with another 120 families and that we could buy food on site with was also horrible. Worst place ever do not go.

We were at the far end of the park where, presumably, the dog owners are put. It was lovely and peaceful with trees around and the sound of the waves breaking in St. Mary's bay beach. I can't comment on how peaceful or otherwise the other end of the holiday park is, but it seemed quiet too. The caravans are clean and well kept, ours had central heating. Nice thick comfortable mattresses on the beds. The swimming pool wasn't overly warm, but not too bad. The staff were friendly and helpful, though we didn't have a lot to do with them since we had no problems and everything worked as it should. There's a good bus service immediately outside the gate. There are plenty of walks for dogs and humans alike, the beach at St. Mary's bay being a doggy haven! Cliff walks either way are mostly not too difficult.

Nice venue but the boiler was so noisy and kept firing up several times an hour. Hair was found in our plug in the bath, causing water to drain slowly and the entertainment wasn't great. Local places to visit had a lot to offer. Paignton Zoo is 20 minutes drive away and was lovely day out. On-site small shop was convenient although pricey. The camps crazy golf was also fun. Overall a very nice and relaxing holiday.

Having had a caravan issue and unable to attend my family holiday,I had to act fast and find something else suitable for my 3 children and South Bay seemed to tick all the box's.On arrival we were greeted with happy faces and politeness and despite having to wait a few hours for our chalet to be ready, we were still able to leave our vehicle on site and venture around Brixham.
There's a bus service every half hour from right outside and a short drive down the hill to a carpark where you can acces St Mary's bay beach(very steep steps though) and at the top of the site there are various paths that will take you around the coast with amazing views.
Our chalet had everything from a dishwasher to a freezer and all was in mint condition, and the evening entertainment despite having to be altered due to covid 19 was still a fun evening with a 2metre distance plus seating capacity so everyone remained safe.
Thanks for a fab few days guys .
Definitely come back again

Run down shabby accommodation. Nothing worked in the amusement arcade. No where to buy anything to eat on site during the day time. Spent 5 hours on the site, 2.5hrs waiting for accommodation, 1 hour sorting a move from a chalet that should have been condemned to a caravan that should be pushed off the cliff with John Fowler inside. Took just over an hour to cook some chicken dippers for the crying hungry little ones before packing up the car and driving back to North London!

The park itself is nice, and the cost is pretty good. You definitely get your money's worth here. The only thing is the caravans are a bit old and need some maintenance, but they are rather comfortable. One big plus (for us) is the fact they accept pets on some caravans. We originally booked a gold one and had to change to the silver because the gold is no pets. Still, we found the silver one rather nice and our stay here was lovely.

I have came here at least 14 times since 2004 and have enjoyed it everytime. It is one of my favourite hoilday parks. Not only has it git everything on site. But if you dont drive everything is pretty close. And a bus come on to site regularly so if you want to get out and about you can. If I come to devon I always choose southbay.

Our caravan was a large family owned unit, it was spotless when we arrived. Only 2 small fields away from the Coastal Footpath. Stunning views from the cliffs to sea and across most of Torbay.
Fab site to use as a base for walking the coast etc. Be aware though, the roads to get there have some very tight spots.
The staff were helpful and friendly when you met them. The old town and harbour where brilliant for a day out. Walk the half mile harbour breakwater..

The holiday park is great, the staff are fantastic. Sadly we booked the same time as a large group from a rugby club so it felt a little exclusive. That said our Granddaughters had a great time and that was our reason for the break.

we have been away for a long weekend to South Bay ...

we have been away for a long weekend to South Bay holiday park from 17th -20th August 2018 we booked a gold adapted caravan and told the lady on the phone that my husband is a wheelchair user ! To our horror when we arrived there was no parking next to the caravan and to make thing worse there were no disabled parking spaces in parking provided up the road from caravan. When we looked at the details for South Bay this is the description we read ..........The Park
South Bay is set above the town of Brixham and much of the site is on an incline. Certain areas of the site may not be accessible for persons with specific mobility requirements. Please check prior to booking.
We have two caravans that are adapted for wheelchair users with low level kitchen units, wet rooms, widened doorways, ramp access and dedicted parking.
Where was this parking and where are the disabled bays ? I am just wondering if you have any idea how difficult it is for a wheelchair user and how much space they need in a parking bay to be able to enter and exit a vehicle safely?
Before leaving I did try to speak to someone in the office but it was closed as it was on Monday when we left the park.E mailed and telephone customer service and have been told too late now we have left the park !!!!!!!!

The grounds were tidy and accommodation was clean but there was a smell of smoke in the caravan (a maintenance team did come very quickly to try and sort the issue). The take away was nice and reasonably priced. The shop was small but had all the essentials. The crazy golf, although open, is in a state of disrepair. The park was a good size and kids really enjoyed the zip line. Seagulls are a bit of a nuisance in the area even knocking on the door to get scraps, someone has definitely been feeding them.

Stayed in the only adapted caravan they have. I'll be honest I'd like to see at least 1 or 2 more available on site for the disabled. My only issue is that in the double room it is 2 singles together , so the mattresses can come apart or you can get caught inbetween them. The head of housekeeping though was fantastic , she tried her best in a rubbish situation and found us a topper that fitted 3 quarters of the bed ( Better than nothing ) So I could at least get some sleep over the 14 nights. The van itself is little outdated I think , bit of rust in the bathroom , by cabinets , lower shower seat legs but nothing I guess that can cause any issues. I will say if you are short ( I'm 5ft 5in ) , the toilet is high & in a sitting position my feet were on tip toes. However there are handrails to help support and get on & off. I was also unable to use the above bed handle also. It doesn't fit under the divan beds & left it tilted or rocking on the frame. And just normally sited beside the bed , it tips over obviously as theres no support to take a person's weight or it's to far to the side. The ramp is fine upto the caravan , there is a tiny step though at the threshold so self propellers may struggle here ( I did ) & partner had to help to get me in. In winter it gets a bit chilly but that's expected , just bring a hot water bottle. The onsite shop has the very basic of items , there is a local spar however expect to pay a little more.

Due to us visiting during the period where lockdown is and isnt sort of happening we were unable to visit the clubhouse. You could go in and order drinks, but with 2 young children, there only being Bingo on and kids not being allowed to move from the table, we gave it a miss.
We could not book in till 6pm and are asked to be out by 9am, so less time than normal.

Caravan was ok, but all glasses and cutlery were dirty, obviously something they miss off the deep clean.
Pool has to be booked a day in advance and we also found that after 7pm, the tv signal would just go..
With no kids entertainment or tv, the nights wre not as much fun as they should have been.
But this park, is close to St Marys beach and if it is sunny, that alone is what makes it worthwhile to stay here - if you can handle the steps..lots and lots of steep steps. So no push chairs..
We had 3 day break, which was fine for us, and adults will probably like it more than individuals with kids...

Clean and tidy holiday park. Swimming pool was lovely. The site was well maintained and quiet even though it was the height of summer and many of the vans occupied. It was on quite a sloping area so not the best for wheelchairs or folks with impaired mobility unless you ensure you are on the flatter areas. Shop on the site is well stocked and reasonably priced. Plenty of information at reception of local attractions and activities.

My caravan smells like dog and is musky, cutlery was not clean. Bed quilt is smaller then the sheet. And to top it of kids night time entertainment consisted of watching some youtube videos! Not very energetic, or enthusiastic.. cnt wait to go home! The caravan I'm in is so un clean. Disappointed.

OK site ,kids loved it. The pool was great for kids, they loved the flume, the pool was both inside and out so best of both. Arcade was very small. Mini golf was fun and free.Chalet was not very nice, damp mold behind beds and wardrobe, living area was spacious though. 20 minutes walk to brixham harbour.
