Sandwiches and Salads are premade, but are good. They offer tastings of the soup selections before you order. Always crowded around lunch time.

All the varieties are delicious, tuna is great, and the rotisserie items are great, although the sides can be quite spicy! I do ore all the chicken soup being so sweet ot the giant matzah balls being so bland, maybe they changed the recipes over time

Great place to eat. Unfortunately one staff member was very unprofessional rude and unaproate to my female companion. Lucky for him I was informed of his rude comment a few miles down the road. 07-08-17.

The place was much better when we started going there. The food is still good but the premises itself has deteriorated and needs to be updated

Went after reading all the great reviews and was shocked to find a tiny-dingy and dirty-looking place... All served in paper with plastic cutlery, did not look freshly made at all... Went elsewhere...

The BEST soups ever and the largest and BEST tasting Matzah ball anywhere!!

They have pickels in brine next to the cash register and the are so good! Soup is good too.

The soups here are great, and the soup and sandwich combo is good too. The quality is very good and the chicken pot pie soup keeps me coming back. The menu does get stale after a while.

Crowded, no place to sit. Clam chowder was delicious and creamy. Sandwiches were not good at all. Premade and somewhat bland.

The New England corn and clam chowder was tasty as was the chicken noodle soup but the Little Italy sandwich was delicious! I was able to take my children to a restaurant and eat healthy at a good price and environment. We will be going there many more times!

I have been going to their Newton location for years, and I used to frequent their Brookline location before they closed. It was consistently 5-star great with yummy soups, some staples and some "daily" specials. I'm wondering if anyone besides me is noticing a drop-off in their quality lately (July 2019). Maybe it's just that they are not paying as much attention to their soups given it's the middle of the summer, but on recent purchases, I've noticed a weaker chicken brother than normal, older-tasting chicken in the chicken soup, souring gazpacho, and a chaulky-tasting pepperjack/caulifllower soup. I wouldn't have written this if it was a 1-time thing but I've been noticing a real quality issue lately, sad to say.

Went today April 11th paid 12 bucks for soup then wasxwaited on by some rude kid wearing his pants down to his knees , these people are idiots to allow this type of service

Soup and sandwiches, fresh and inviting... the place is tiny with seating down a narrow corridor so if you like elbow room, get it to go - but theyve done a decent job with the small space. No butter for the bread that comes with your soup, I didnt ask why as I was caught off guard with the "we dont serve butter" response! Two in our party had souo and sandwich combos and it was gone fast with happy nods - soups were much enjoyed by our kids and toddler who requested the place to begin with... sweet potato corn chowder was smooth and thick, perfect balance. Chicken noodle was more basic and I prefer bigger noodles but the kids polished it off fast and were full and satisfied which is thumbs up for me! Not a large drink selection but they happily provided tap water in plastic cups for us. I would happily visit again.

First time there today. My wife & I disliked every single thing we ordered.

Good variety of food selections such as cold pastas and soups to go, and sandwiches and warm foods, and beverages like minutemaid. The main entrance of this place is situated near where the main checkout area is where the cooler fridge of to go items are. If you want something warm, upon entering the place go down past the seating area to get things like salad, rotisserie chicken, potatoes, etc. The menu for that area of the place changes daily I think. I went to the soup factory only a few times to get the sesame noodles, which taste great even when cold from the fridge.

The food is always fresh and delicious, don't let the line scare you, it moves very quickly! I recommend the chicken and veg soup with noodles, or if they have their lemon chicken orzo soup, get that!

Clam chowder soup is tasty.
I came in late on the day, 20 minutes before closing. No selection of bread but I was surprise to find the rye delicious.
I figure if you're in Boston area, you ought to try the local stuff.
This is light, economical, quite healthy and worthy of 4 stars.
My eyes are bigger than my appetite. I though a quart size would do but it was actually more than I could handle, with the bread.
If you are in the neighborhood, give it a try.

I haven't been to NE Soup in a while because I thought their food was too salty but today's experience was great! I had a delicious and juicy Nantucket tomato sandwich and root vegetable soup. The tomatoes were sweet and fresh on a crusty bread and the soup tasted like it was home cooked. Soooo good!

Great, food only time you can get good clam chowder when not on Cape cod

Awful place highly dysfunctional and Not consistent at all. I ask for one of the regular shift managers, another guy rudely and loudly mentions he was fired. Childish behavior not professional and they re in violation in disclosing employee status to the general public. Twice I come there are NO bread rolls not the white or multi grain. Worthless service and not worth waiting in line only to feel brushed off by staff. They need to learn to be more genuine and learn how to retain customers once and for all. Monkey business. I refuse to be subjected to this.

The food was very clean and good. I ordered the turkey havarti wrap and lobster newbury. Both were good but the soup was what they are named for and I see why. It was interesting to arrive there and see that they ve been visited by Phantom Gourmet.

This place is fantastic. Great owners, great food, great service.

This place has the best clam chowda! I regularly come here especially during the colder months to get some warm soup for lunch. There can be a long line if you get there right at noon so I recommend coming at least 20 minutes before or after their peak time. The line moves fast and the service is great.

Decent flavor for chicken "Jamaican jerk special.. but the price is steep

BEST SOUP EVER!!!! This is my favorite place to eat for lunch, very reasonably priced and absolutely delicious and flavorful soups. The owner and employees are lovely as well

The Chicken Pot Pie soup was so thick it was more like chicken flavored Jell-O.
It was crowded, but the folks behind the counter were on the ball and the line moved quickly.

Everything was so good! And they had a vegan option :)

I absolutely adore the New England Soup Factory! They offer several varieties of soup everyday and consider the season as well. I recently had their chilled tomato, mango and jalapeno soup and was pleasantly surprised, it was amazing!

Not only do I go here for my personal lunch, I've also used them for catering. Their staff is so friendly and accommodating. I recently worked with Chris who was extremely helpful in identifying exactly what I needed for my catering order, and really delivered! He carried my order and helped me load it in my car! Honestly, they have something for everyone, whether soup, sandwiches or salads. Overall an amazing establishment, I wish there were more!

The service was fast and the soup is really good. The thing I didn't like was that there is not enough seating space and things can get very crowded.

The only reason I m not giving five stars is because I really wish they had more soup options at once! The staff is great, service is very quick, the interior decor is very eclectic and cute. The soups are delicious- warning the chili is VERY spicy. I visit this place frequently and am never disappointed. Their lobster bisque is delicious. Their take away containers are microwaveable which is helpful and could easily be reused. Sandwiches and wraps are good too! Highly recommend. Especially when you re cravings some hot soup!

The staff was very friendly as it was my first time here. I got a caesar salad with a sandwich and the lobster soup. I couldn t even eat the salad because it tasted like chemicals. Both the salad and the sandwich were pre made and extremely disappointing and soggy. The soup was amazing, but I would stick to just that.

I was looking for a new place to eat during my lunch break and I found this place. Soup and sandwich combo was gooooooodd. I ll be back to try more food.

Awesome recipes, especially the chicken side. Wish they had some type of self serve water and healthier drink options (Nantucket Nectars, Izzy, etc). I shouldn't have to pay for name brand soda or water.

Skimpy overpriced sandwiches and soup. Ordered 3 WHOLE sandwiches and a pint of soup for my family $34 and asked for spoons and napkins and they said already in the bag all that was in there was ONE napkin. Very disappointed.
