So far I have not had the opportunity to use the insurance. However, if you want a company that is still in the dark ages, this is it. I called to pay my premium and was told they do not accept payments either online or over the phone. They do not accept credit cards, and you have to cut the slip off the bill and enclose a check and put it in the mail. I haven't mailed a check to anyone in several years. That is the only way. It takes 3 months to have SS withdraw the amount and pay them. Well, I guess it's back to "checks in the mail".

UPDATE: I have been using this company and had many claims. I have worked around their out of date accounting by having the bank just automatically sending a check each month. I am fortunate to have this company in my corner for health care.

I am a member for about five years as a Medicare A...

I am a member for about five years as a Medicare Advantage HMO. I was pretty satisfied, how quick they paid my claims and approved authorizations for needed procedures. Thank God, I don't have serious issues, so I rarely go to the doctor, but I noticed, in about 8 months ago, how aggressive this insurance company becoming, trying to make me see my doctor. They call, they send me letters, how I need to go for checkups, for mammograms etc. I truly hate this, as I feel, they are trying to control me. I explained a few times, I live a very healthy lifestyle, I walk a lot, I eat right, I don't have diabetes or any other issues and I don't see the need to bother my PCP, who is way overworked, anyway. I am thinking about switching because of their aggressive manner, how they keep bothering a healthy member, who really doesn't need to be told, when to see her doctor.

I'm not sure what all the fuss is about with poor reviews for Soundpath. One person was upset because of their "aggressiveness". I, for one, have appreciated their calls to let me know about services that I had no clue of, and I'm a BIG researcher. They even called me as soon as they approved a referral for an MRI I desperately needed instead of just sending me a letter. Their customer service team has always been helpful and actually sound like REAL people over the phone - not just like robots which I've encountered with large corporations. This shows they have an excellent training program. And to let you know, I am extremely picky.

One aspect I do not like, and would give them five stars if this were not so, is that their copay for specialists is high. I have registered a complaint about this but apparently the CEO has not received the many calls regarding this. Otherwise, until I stop getting good responses or service from them, I'll give four stars.
