Hostel very dirty, the rooms have no storage space, deposit for blankets & cutlery / plate, a shame I find! Very very noisy & people present do not respect others ... The staff is nice and the hostel well placed & has a free shuttle!

First impressions of the hostel as a whole were good, as there was a fairly lively atmosphere at the pool and the receptionist Kelly was really nice. However, when we went to the kitchen to drop off food it wasn't particularly clean, and More
It's a nice place to stay but a little difficult if you are a little bit shy. The stuff is nice but be ready to be confused the first few days of where everything is, because the place is huge and bit confusing to get around. The showers are actually pretty nice. The kitchen is fairly small and you need your own plates and mugs etc.
Total dive. The staff are lively, but not worth the $21. Mold everywhere. No A/c, dodgy fans. Exhaust fan didn't work. Fridge need defrosting bad! Choose another location
Sweet place, great ambiance, and good showers. A lot of people means a lot of little mess - dont go there expecting a "clean" hostel. But for the price, we can all turn a blind eye to the mess
Avoid this backpackers is the worst ( Very Dirty, small Kitchen ) . the staff is not friendly and doesn't understand if you work. never stay here cause Somewhere To Stay Will Become Somewhere To Stay Under The Bridge...
Dirty rooms/bathrooms, bad showers, expensive WIFI. Car park is way too small, to advertise this is a bit bold. Yes no 10 or more dorms, but to be honest I saw better 10 dorms than this 6 dorms. Only positive thing: staff seems to be friendly.
It is a big hostel, but the rooms for 8 are made small, the truth is that the place was not very clean, neither the room nor the kitchen ... the pool was very dirty. The treatment of the people super well, very kind everyone.
A lovely place to find yourself, great staff. But be careful as an Aussie you can't stay in dorms ya gotta book a single room. Great vibes though and community.
I stayed there almost 3 month... lovely people, awsom staff, clean and pretty central. it is not one of these party hostel, you can have a drink with other people and socialize but mostly at 10 they shut everything down. I prefer a good sleep and when you like to go out there are plenty of places around. great place to stay for a few month or just a few nights.
I lived in this place for a long time and had the best time of my life. Great atmosphere in the best area of Brisbane. Great boss and all the staff has always been friendly and helpful. Free popcorn and BBQ and the shuttle service is very convenient. I am sure you will stay longer then planned!
I find the location great! Not too far from the city, in a neighborhood lively enough for some and quiet enough for others.
Hourly bus, swimming pool, friendly people and daily room cleaning.
PS: an impeccable kitchen, when it has just been cleaned. it is a place of sharing not the house of mum and dad. So we cook, we do our dishes and we clean the place we dirty :) cheers
The workers are friendly but some guests are really dirty and noisy. The floor of our room was full of garbage and the smell was disgusting. Somewhere to not stay.
When I tried to book for 8 of my staff (mixed , male and female,)for a 2 week stay in dorm rooms I was refused because we are Australian. .this place has now been reported to the anti discriminatipn board !
A real homy feeling in this hostel. The personnel and the owner are really nice and don't treat you like dirt (which is too often in Australia) and do, you feel treated like a real customer (private bathroom cleaned and mat changed everyday, room frequently vacuum). The view from the hostel and the neighbourhood are wonderful ! Thank you very much. Only thing maybe is the kitchen can be quite small for this hostel but in time of covid (not full capacity) it was enough.
This is one of the smaller hostels in Brisbane and one of the cheapest. But it is definitely worth the money, the bathrooms are new and very clean and the staff is really friendly. There are lots of longtermers, so the hostel has a really good and chilled atmosphere.
It's a good temporary accommodation option for overseas students traveling to Brisbane and joining UQ/ QUT. The place is safe enough and has a happening environment. The staff and other tenants were friendly and helpful. All the amenities are a quick walk away. It's near to the bus routes, and the nearest ferry station is just a KM away. Would recommend..
Very nice place to stay, great atmosphere and friendly staff. Cats were nice wandering around; gave a nice homely feeel to the place. the free bus was very useful to get into the main area as the weather wasn't great when we stayed. the location was great giving a nice view of the city. Strongly reccommend you stay here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Called looking to speak to a friend , was not treated or spoken to well, half rude, lady on phone, will not be a place I would recommend If that is the kind of service you get..... being a very clear speaker and being told..I can't understand you..... was not good either, English was poor that end ....... RUDE!!!!!!!!!!
I stayed in a double room with my girlfriend. Air conditioned, nice bathroom and shower facilities, spacious rooms, pool is a bit gross and never seems to get cleaned and beds are a bit stiff.
Had a great time at somewhere to stay, people are chill, staff are friendly and always willing to help, i will definitely be going back if I m ever near by again!
The hostel is outward looking - lots of balconies with great views of Brisbane! It makes meetings easier! Certainly a lot (too) of French but if you d era a little we find everything! The rooms are small but if you sleep there just ok. Kitchen equipped but busy .. a little noisy at times .. and the staff is great! Summary: it's home!
I like to live in here, from first time i arrived at brisbane i have stayed in this hostel, and it's super comfy, and all the staff in here is so nice.. when i go to brisbane again, i would like to stay in this hostel again.
Its ok, good people in the reception but definitely a 1000% backpacker hostel. They clean really often and I like the management but, if you are lucky enough, in the share room you'll find noisy drunk french/germans, dirty foodplate under the bed, a sea of Pringles on then ground and the tamed baggage obstacle adventure to reach your bed. Be careful, drunk uk girls will try to bite you. The italians will just smoke cigarettes and listen to weird italian hip hop 24/7 without talking to anybody in months. For the rest good place to make connection and again, despite of what I said earler, very clean compared to the other hostel I've been. Peace
What can I say ? Definitely the best hostel in Brisbane and in the entire country. I m feeling like home in this place, and I always come back. The team is really nice, always trying to give the best customer service. People there are awesome. Perfect place to chill and live.
So noisy at night. Supposed noise curfew at 10pm but with paper thin walls and windows you're not sparred 1am Skype calls, random chatter and footsteps going to and fro in the maze of the building. The place also looks tired.
Worst hostel staff: not helpful at all, the two girls who were at the counter were extremely unfriendly, except for the one guy who was driving the van to the city was super nice though (white, tall blue-eyed man). The pool area is nice and they've got some nice games. Easy to make friends in this place and the kitchen is nice and tidy. Rooms were very clean and hostel wasn't loud at night. I'd definitely stay again if it wasn't for the unpleasant staff :/
For the price this hostel is actually really nice. The kitchen is cleaned regularly and there are loads of different spaces to chill out and a big comfortable TV area. Nice pool and hammock area and LOADS of fridge space. The hostel itself has everything you need at an amazing price. Also the free shuttle is really useful to get from the bus station.
The facilities were nice, the price was good the staff are friendly BUT .. My lungs are still recovering. This hostel is open air, every room opens out onto a path. They allow people to smoke on these paths and this fills all the rooms with smokey air. The rooms smell like ashtrays, it is disgusting. Just as I'm trying to fall asleep, someone would light up right outside my window and start me coughing again. I tried moving rooms, but the dirty air is everywhere.
Staff is very friendly. The hostel itself is pretty clean and the cat is nice too. The wifi could be better tho. I would definitely recommend this hostel because its really cheap and the shuttle is very very usefull.
What you pay is what you get. Rooms were clean, relatively comfy and the perfect temperature. Admin was absolutely lovely and the other guests were respectful. Will definitely be visiting again!
I like this backpacker. Pick up bus and clean toilet&bathroom are awesome. however, expensive wifi and washing machine are not good. I saw free wifi on the website but it was not true. 5 dollars per days. and you need to pay 8 dallors to use washing and drying your clothes.
I was supposed to stay only 2 weeks but I finally stayed 5 months ! Really nice place, not too far from the city, friendly and helpful staff. Its an animated hostel where you meet a lot of people, thats why I definitely recommend !
Seriously the best hostel where I stayed in Australia. Reasonable prices, nice staff, good pool and workout area. The only negative side is that the kitchen is a bit too small.
Terrible! If I could give you a advice it will be DONT STAY THERE. me and my boyfriend booked two beds in a mixed bedroom a week in advance, on the day of the check in we called to check if everything was ok during the morning (we did the check in just at night), they said that everything was right. Just when we arrived they let us know that there weren t beds on the same bedroom for us, despite our reservation and confirmation call. I explained that we had made the reservation in advance exactly to avoid this kind of situation and how much I feel insecure to stay in a bedroom just with men that I don t know and the only thing that they did for me was to say I m sorry, but o can t do anything . After this Disappointment, we went to ours rooms and they were disgusting! Really, I had never saw a bedroom in a hostel as dirt as these! Dirt pan under the bed, rest of food on the floor! One more time, we went to the reception to make a complain and the justification was we clean the bedrooms once a week (what???) and you probably arrive on the day 6 . At this point I was completely insatisfied and started to try to find another place to stay! Unfortunately the city was completely full because a footy game. My desespair was so intense that I was really considering to take a cab to the airport and spend the night there even though we hadn t have a flight on the following day. While I was looking for information about the working hours of the airport, my boyfriend went to the reception one more time and miraculously a bed in a female room appears to me. However, my boyfriend needed to stay in a completely disgusting bedroom. Somewhere to stay was the worst place to stay ever!
My experiences with the hostel were not that good. The management was alright, but it seems quite chaotic and noisy there. People there are most often working as backpackers and did seem that friendly as they barely said hello in the foyer. I was in a six dorm room with a messy guy. It smelled like crap and the guy puked on my backpack before I left. The facilities are alright but I've seem better places for the same money. Not really sure what they did about the trouble maker though.
Worst part is the guests who are there, otherwise an okay place. Best part is the positioning of the hostel, easy access to a lot of good places to go out.. if you came with a few buddies the place is a treat but if you travel alone I'd recommend to do so with caution
I stayed 2 months in this hostel and had a really nice experience. Really good to chill out and enjoy life. Friendly staff around and the weekly special nights were nice as well. If you come to Brisbane, go to this place!
Friendly staff on arrival. The hostel was undergoing some renovation when we went there in April. as a result this meant there were sometimes queues for the showers/toilets. toilet roll was also sometimes lacking in some cubicles. Lovely chilled out vibes, decent common room and an adequate kitchen. Plate rental requires a deposit at reception. this hostel seemed very popular with Germans. Only a 40ish minute walk to the main centre or they offer a free shuttle service at regular intervals throughout the day. Very tropical feel to this hostel and a must stay if you like cats!
I've been coming here over the years, but my most recent visit was very bad due the huge number of bed bugs. After a couple of days I was covered in bites.
Most comprehensive check in I've had, nice large room, and excellent facilities/services unfortunately the only let down was the matress very uncomfortable, had to essentially sleep between the springs. Parking on site is minimal, but more (>2hr) parking is available 5 min walk away. Plenty of 2hr parking nearby.
Not the most comfortable but has a lot of character. It is just under 3km to the city but they have a shuttle bus which is good. The kitchen was a nightmare and small for the amount of rooms the place has. The bedroom walls don't provide much of a barrier for sound. The staff was easy to get along with, so if you are staying for a week it might be a good choice.
I have been traveling through Australia for a while and to be honest, this hostel is the rudest hostel I have ever booked. Alone to the question of whether I should please use the toilet was answered snotty and told me more than clearly that I should first book a room. The internet says that this hostel offers FREE WIFI. Unfortunately, that's not true, because they want $ 5 a day and a few dollars for an hour. The cleanliness is unfortunately hard to see and as it is currently being renovated is from 7.00 in the morning so much noise that it is simply impossible to sleep. The staff is very rude and the owner of the hostel is the very last. He complained that our car was standing in a parking lot opposite the hostel (although it is a public free car park) and threatened us directly with calling the police. He does not want the neighbors to think that the car belongs to his hostel was his reason. For a parking lot in the hostel area we would have to pay extra and therefore it was out of the question for us to use this parking lot. He saw the dollar signs in his eyes and the way he talked to me was just outrageous
The staff is unfriendly, the manager is a total psycho. Edit: i dont care if we smoked weed or not . Your staff said we did it while she was cleaning wich was just not true. i never saw someone shouting to me like that.. not even my father. I booked one room over a week and another pair room for 2 days in that same week, so u made a lot of money from me in that week. Now please dont tell me that i waste 30 mins of your time or did i interrupt u playing World of Warcraft again? ;)
