Something Blue Shoppe was very helpful during the entire process. My stylist Kim was excellent and helped me navigate all my choices when I wasn't really sure what I wanted. I really appreciated her help and advice. They were also extremely kind to my mother and I when we came in for our first fitting with their recommend seamstress. I would recommend them to everyone.

I visited the Something Blue Shoppe on Saturday, March 20, 2021. As most everyone on Google has said in their reviews - it was a great experience, but for me it was...right up until it wasn't. I waited a few days to write this review because I wanted to do some research on whether or not it has become customary in the prom/pageant/bridal gown shops to ASK FOR A TIP. Being a former pageant participant, having bought my own wedding gown when I married, and being a participant in more bridal parties than I can count, I have NEVER encountered being asked for a tip when I went to pay for my purchase. I tracked down some friends who are still working in the bridal shops in Birmingham to get their input. I wouldn't want to post this, unfairly, if this had just become the trend. From all of my feedback - IT HAS NOT. Most of them were absolutely appalled. Being caught off guard by the tip line on the receipt, when I was paying for the purchase (bridal gown for my younger cousin), I asked the lady behind the counter, "I have never encountered a tip line at a dress shop and would like to do the right thing, what is customary?" She replied that they had just started the practice and most people were leaving 10% or more (which, for my purchase would have been, at least, an additional $170!!!). SO - whatever you're thinking about for a budget you will have to think about adding in a tip or feeling like a jerk for not tipping. I did leave a tip because the associate who helped us was absolutely fantastic, but I felt very put-on-the-spot and somewhat taken advantage of. I have no complaints whatsoever about the woman who helped us or the experience we had while shopping; however, being shocked, caught off guard, and feeling pressured to leave a hefty tip soured the experience very quickly and completely. This experience has also made me feel that A) this shop is being greedy and trying to wring every cent they can out of their customers by asking them to tip on high-dollar purchases or B) they are not properly compensating their associates and are passing that cost along to the customer. This is a great shop with a long history of serving brides, etc. I have been there for a purchase, before. I just can't recommend them after this experience. I don't want to leave a bad review, but I feel customers should be informed about this practice before they go shop. At least, that way, they can plan ahead and not be shocked like I was.
If you want to make wedding dress shopping feel truly special this is the place. Fitting areas feel very personal, the shop itself is beautiful, mimosa and coffee are complimentary. They even had a live pianist! We honestly felt like we on "say yes to the dress" but this was better.
Coming to this shop made me feel like I was on a tv show like Say Yes to the Dress. The shop is beautiful and has a ton of dresses at different price points. The team there is so polite and really pays attention to what you want without being pushy. I highly recommend!

Great shop. I went to 9 bridal shops looking for my perfect dress and finally found it at Something Blue! Sandy at the front desk has the best customer service of anyone I have ever seen! She is the sweetest, the perfect smile to greet you when you walk in. TJ is very knowledgable and answered all of our questions. So glad they recommended Christy at Urban Altered for my alteration needs.

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. Such a great experience. I honestly was not expecting to find my dream dress today, but I did! Every dress I tried on was gorgeous, but I am so in love and obsessed with my dress. I still can t get over it. I literally cannot wait to go back so I can put it on again. The staff was amazing. My consultant was Blake and he was absolutely fabulous. I LOVE HIM. If you want a completely stress-free, fun experience while looking for your dream dress, Something Blue is the place to go. Oh, and the pianist is a nice touch, too!
