If i could rate them 0 i would! They are the most useless, unhelpful, disinterested, unprofessional group of people i have ever dealt with. They never actually deal with a problem, never return calls (i have been waiting 7 months) and have no interest in trying to be helpful. Regardless of the department, they all seem to be the same other than the building inspectors who are the exception.

There will always be people who are attracted to civil work, where they can be incompetent without facing reprisals. The only way a department within a council could be efficient was if it was outsourced. I ve had shockingly rude exchanges with their staff. Initially they re objectionable and unhelpful but if you are persistent they ll do what s necessary.

Called the council, to change my DD. Waited 20 min...

Called the council, to change my DD. Waited 20 minutes to talk to the main receptionist, who then put me through to the Council Tax department. Waited in that queue for another 25 minutes when the call was just terminated, whilst waiting. Solihull CC appears to be very quick in taking council tax money out of my account, but extremely slow, and in this not available to deal with my issues. That's what happens when a supplier has the monopoly. Sadly, I can't switch my council services supplier. I don't know is Solihull CC has a quality assurance department, to check different departments performances and compare them with similar operations in the private sector and publish their findings. I don't even know what the KPIs at Solihull CC.
