These folks are the BEST! Rachel has really helped with some training issues. She's my "go to". They also offer periodic rattlesnake avoidance training which is so very important for the safety of our pups. Great organization!

We can not thank Rachel and her crew enough for all that they did for our very troubled 4 legged child. Our girl excelled because of Sol Dog, their dedication to helping her and the support they gave to us was amazing.

I really cannot say enough great things about Sol ...

I really cannot say enough great things about Sol Dog. They offer a variety of services, and even board/train special case dogs from PACC.

I discovered them back in the summer when I needed some help with one of my dogs who was reactive to other dogs. I took Mabel there for 4-days of day training, and Terra was just wonderful with her. Not only did Mabel learn and grow in just 4-days, Terra gave me very useful tips to bring home that have helped me to continue to work on Mabel's reactivity.

Mabel is now able to easily interact with other dogs and attends their day camp several times a month in order to ensure she has opportunities to socialize. She always comes home exhausted from her play day, and she's getting better and better with her interaction skills!! Nicole and Anisa always find time to talk with me each time I pick up Mabel in order to let me know how she did that day. They are both wonderful with her.

There is also a groomer on their site ....Becky's Pet Parlor...and I have to say that Becky is a freakin' dog whisperer. In addition to Mabel, I also have a senior Chiweenie/Jack Russell 11lb 'handful'. Bernie will NOT let anyone touch his tiny toes except for me....and it has taken me many months of just slowly and gently massaging/touching his feet for him to even tolerate me. He is a rescue so I'm not sure what is history is, but man ....stay away from the dude's feet because he goes into full on melt-down mode when it's time for a nail trim. Except ...not with Becky....he is a little gentleman for her. She began very slowly at first with another person helping hold him, and he allowed her to use a dremel for a short period of time the first day. She's done his nails several times now, and he just loves her.

You will not go wrong by choosing Sol Dog ....I highly recommend them.

Nicole Whittington was sent to us to work with a d...

Nicole Whittington was sent to us to work with a dog we were fostering. The dog was recovering from medical issues and had started "resource guarding" and "boundary guarding." By this I mean if he had something you needed to get away from him he would jump and snap at you, sometimes charging at you twice. The same thing could happen if my husband or I or our dogs got too close to him when he was laying down ... which was a problem since he always chose to lay down on the floor as close to me as possible.

By the end of the first lesson with Nicole the foster dog was laying down next to her and allowing her to trade his toys and even bones for treats. By the end of the second lesson he was literally in her lap on his back trying to love on her instead of paying the least bit of attention to the items he typically guarded. By the time she arrived for the third lesson we literally could not get him to even act like he was going to resource guard and we had to give up and consider that the last lesson ... he responded too well to her training up to that point to continue.

The absolute BEST THING about Nicole is that she lets you know from the very beginning that she will be training you as much as, and perhaps even more than, the dog! This means she is teaching you the actions and attitude you will need to continue to maintain a good relationship with your dog and eliminate the issue(s) long term. You receive homework assignments between lessons where you work with the dog without her assistance. She is careful to make these assignments something easy enough that both you and the dog will be relaxed. However, it is important as these activities will build up to eliminating the behavior even after Nicole is long gone.

The great thing is once she had taught us (both the dog and the family) how to prevent the resource guarding he also stopped space guarding, meaning we could stop walking around on egg shells in our own home! He really just relaxed and trusted us and his new life so much better.

This dog is two years old and had been sick enough that he acted like an old dog most of the two months he was with us. Once he healed he all the sudden discovered he was a two year old large dog puppy. And this was the first time he had been in a house as a puppy and he suddenly started trying to figure out what the boundaries were ... what he could and could not get away with. The AMAZING part was that this two year old was obviously looking to our guidance to figure this out. For example, he started jumping on us anytime he got excited. Although this can be a difficult habit to break, I just softly said "no" to him a few times and shook my head. The next day I just had to do that once. He never did it again. There are lots of examples like this during his last two weeks with us.

I attribute much of this to Nicole's AMAZING work with him. He realized that we were there to work in tandem with him! And, that we could all live together in harmony!

My parents, in their 80's, just got a beagle puppy. To say it is not going well would be an understatement. Of course the first person I thought of for assistance was Nicole.

If you have an animal you need assistance with and are hesitant about hiring a trainer ... get off the fence! Call Nicole and she will totally help you out!

Due in large part to Nicole's help we were able to transition this dog, who is now absolutely DELIGHTFUL, to a forever home that is absolutely perfect for him! It was truly a happy ending for everyone concerned.

My 8 month old hyper german shepard pup went 4v4 days of training. It was a delight to see the difference in him after 4 days. The trainer also took a day to train my husband and I on use of commands and leash. Also gave us a great insight of a gsd mind.

Tera was my Lolas teacher. She had 4 days of training and Lola was totally exhausted every day. Lola was in desperate need of obedience. She is smart but chooses to be wild and crazy stealing everything and jumping on every one that she comes in contact with. Well at the end of the 4 days it was my turn to be trained. I found that I am the problem not Lola. It has been more than 24 hours since I was trained and with success I have been able to get her to drop something she steals. With the technique I was shown she is catching on she does not jump on people. All I can say is why did I wait so long. Thank you and I am looking forward to our private classes. Thank you. Don t wait. Go now!

I don t know where to begin on this review. We have been going to Sol dog for almost 4 years now and that will never change! Rachel has changed our lives and has helped my previously abused dog with socializing! Sol Dog was out last hope and turned out to be a saving grace. Super grateful for Rachel, Nicole and the rest of the team! I can tell my dog we are going to school to see me Rachel tomorrow and he remembers the next morning and is excited.

We loved the pictures and updates on our puppy. Communication was great and their intake process shows they really care about their canine guests. We would highly recommend Sol Dog Lodge to anyone that needs a place for their dogs to stay.

I am very impressed with the facility and the work they do here. I would highly recommend them for any training or behavior difficulties you may be having with your 4 legged children! I like their approach and the way they do things here. I have been through others in town and Soldog is who I would recommend from the start.

This is hands down the best doggy daycare we have ever used. We have a giant, shy baby, and ge loves Sol Dog Lodge. He is always excited to go. All the staff is absolutely wonderful, and my boy loves the smaller, more personal atmosphere. Their other programs are amazing, and I can't wait for new locations!

I have used a couple of their services including doggie daycare, boarding, and training.

My dog didn't take to doggy daycare there. On the three occasions I took her she got vicious diarrhea. I did contact them. I just felt the response was not very sympathetic or supportive of just how horrible the situation was. Each time the diarrhea lasted more than 24 hours and caused my dog to have numerous accidents in the house. She was having terrible diarrhea every couple hours. And it meant costly vet visits. I was extremely worried and scared about my dog's health.

I understand in my case I had a newly adopted dog who was under stress by going to yet another new place. But it left me reluctant to ever use that service again.

I appreciated them working with me on the boarding because at the time they were actually fully booked but they made space for my pup. this was a huge relief and very helpful because it was a work trip and I had few other options.

I also did a training. It is of course quite pricey. I do think it laid a good foundation. The part I didn't like was while my pup was at the board and train the trainer wasn't very responsive to my questions or about what was happening, what kinds of training activities my dog was going through. The trainer did give me a couple updates though.

But once the board and train was over the trainer did meet with me for about an hour to discuss the training my pup had gone through and give me some tips on a training regimen I can continue to work with her on. And the trainer has responded to questions I have since then via text messaging.

Outside of my own direct experience I do know they are offering support to dogs who otherwise would not get adopted at PACC. Which is really cool.

We love love love LOVE Sol Dog! And, as you can see in the picture, our big baby huey GSD loves it there, too. It's not just the availability of daycamp and boarding, but it's also the knowledgeable staff. They love dogs and understand dogs and I feel like our dog gets the best possible environment -- caring humans, freedom to have crazy play time, but still an expectation of 'polite' dog behavior and an adherence to his training. This isn't a place with dogs running amok; it's a place where they are encouraged and able to be their best doggy selves.

Which sounds hokey, I know, but it's true!

They offer a whole host of "enrichment" activities, including walks, walks on the treadmill, etc. and are truly a large step up from your average "boarding" experience.

Sol Dog makes an actual positive impact in our lives by the services they offer because I know our dog is happy there any of the times I've had to board him (either for the day or for extended visits) and that makes travelling, home renovation, etc. so much less stressful. And "doggy day camp" is a real plus. Our dog is short on doggy friends near our home and Sol Dog's day camp is such a better experience for him than the times we've tried dog parks for play time.

The staff is professional, friendly, quick to communicate, and is a true blessing for any dog owner.

Wonderful place! The owner Crystal, loves dogs and it shows. We signed our dog Booster for the Puppy Class. It wasn't just our Booster who got valuable training, my wife and I did as well. Crystal is a fantastic trainer. She knows how to train both dogs and dog owners in a positive way. Our dog Booster is a great dog that was made even better by the lessons he (we) learned here.

When my husband passed away, my family gifted me with a basset hound puppy. He was a challenge from the start. In the past I've had many bassets in my home when I was fostering for basset rescue and had several in my lifetime that I loved and adored. This little guy is no exception and I love him dearly, but he has had a life of behavior and health issues. I was at my breaking point when I found Sol Dog. Sol Dog Lodge helped me so much with Sully. They were so kind. He went to a week of training there, loved going there and has gone to day camp a number of times. It is truly a wonderful place, with people that really care about the dogs. You know you can trust that your dog is in a good place at Sol Dog Lodge. I am blessed I found them and they saved me!! Sully is almost 2 now and things are better - much better!
