This place is a bit pricy for lunch. I came with my coworker and got the chicken larb and pork with coconut sauce. The food here is good, the pork with coconut could of use some more time simmering and getting softer.

I guess you are paying for location and ambiance.

I would have really liked to have enjoyed a nice dinner here on the rainy night my boyfriend and I chose to try out this highly rated restaurant last week. However the treatment we received from the owner & the hostess prevented us from ever even sitting down. I'm not sure if it was racism, classism, or a desire to impress another client over us, but I've never been made to feel the way I did there before.

We had barely opened the door and walked in when the owner looked up at us from the hostess table and said, "It'll be 30 minutes".
We said we'd go next door for a drink and be back.
25 minutes later we returned and a younger hostess pointed to a table of 4 that they were clearing for us and said, "Your table is almost ready."
We sat in the only 2 chairs available 5 feet from the hostess table and patiently waited.

Here is the disturbing part. The hostess had walked away and the owner was now standing at the hostess table. We watched 2 older white men come down from a private party upstairs and ask if there was a table for 2 available for dinner. Right in front of us, the owner led the 2 gentlemen to the table the hostess said was being prepared for us. When we asked the hostess what happened to our table, she began fumbling and saying excuses like, "oh... we're now getting your table ready upstairs" and "well, those gentlemen are slightly bigger so we seated them there".

It just didn't make sense, considering they were no bigger than my boyfriend & she had specifically said that table was being cleared for us.

I asked to speak to the owner. The owner walked up to me and claimed it was a miscommunication between her and the hostess in regards to that table. This did not make sense because she was the one that told us from the beginning it would be a 30 minute wait, and we were still sitting in front of her 25 minutes later when she gave the table away to the 2 gentlemen that walked downstairs & casually asked if there were any tables available for dinner. When I gently confronted her, she had no explanation addressing what I was really asking.

I'm Persian, my boyfriend is half-Phillipino & Scottish. We were dressed casual-comfortable & were polite & relaxed the entire time we were there. At the end, I simply addressed the issue, and watched the owner & the hostess run circles around the obvious & disrespectful decision that was made in front of us. We said we were no longer comfortable eating dinner there and we left.

This Thai food restaurant is in a class by itself. The food is excellent. Exquisite flavors. One of the small plates is Indian flat bread with vegetables, to die for!
The name means 4th Street, as in 4th Street Berkeley CA.

I went for a lunch and found the menu most interesting. I want to go back during cocktail hour, their list looked amazing. For lunch I had a grapefruit salad with cashews and toasted coconut flakes with a light cream dressing that was very refreshing. The friend who brought me always gets the veggie bowl (she's vegan). I think the restaurant is vegan friendly and serves meat, but don't quote me!! The service was great. A little pricey. Lunch was $20-25 for salad and tea and tip. The decor is simple, I would say dress casual.

Wow, this place is just not good. Went there a few years ago and food was totally passable and even a little enjoyable. Felt like trying something different, so ordered it for takeout last night, and the food was barely edible. Hazardously spiced and randomly fish sauced are not the traits I look for in classic Thai dishes...wish I had gone with another one of the Thai/Southeast Asian spots in Oakland.

This place has the best Thai food! I discovered them during Covid times and have absolutely loved every dish on their menu. They have generous portions and every dish is so fresh and full of flavor. Moreover, the servers are absolutely wonderful. I can t wait for indoor dining to reopen and I look forward to trying rest of the items on the menu!

a trendy thai restaurant - but more of a place to be seen rather than go for thai food. the bay area is rich with good ethnic thai restaurants - this is not an ethnic restaurant. it is modern and cool and the food is good. the decor is very modern and the bar is very nicely apportioned. the plates are a little small for their price, but you're in rockridge.

The complexity of flavors never cease to amaze me. Everything I have tried here is delicious. This restaurant has the best Thai food I have had. Only Northern California can you find such stellar food. Thank you!

This restaurant was mediocre at best. All their "vegetarian" friendly dish comes with fish sauce. Apparently, they premade their sauce with fish sauce so they can't alter it. When I told the waitress I couldn't have fish sauce, she said the cook can substitute it for soy sauce or salt but it won't taste as good and if I didn't like it, I couldn't return it. What options do I have? They food was way too salty. I ordered two order of rice and she gave me half a bowl. We ended up having to order two more orders and they came out with a bowl of rice pile up very high. How can two order of the same thing be so different in portion size? I gave them two stars for the service. I will never go back there. There are definitely better Thai restaurants in Oakland!!!

Perfectly seasoned food, more varied than at standard Thau restaurants. Atmosphere is stylish-casual.
Only downside was that neither menu nor waiter identified shell fish ingredients. We had an allergic reaction during the meal despite explicitly asking for only shell fish free dishes..

Good upscale Thai food in a modern setting. Especially good were curry duck, eggplant salad, and fried tofu. Satay was tasty but came over an ocean of peanut sauce (with toast for sopping). Cocktails were serviceable, and service was prompt and reasonably attentive.

Every bite is delicious! Small plates were delish, tuna tartare is a yes, corn cakes were amazing, crab croquettes missed for me, beef stir fry and pork red curry with brown rice = delicious

Great appetizers and pretty good food. We had a big group and got to try around 15 entrees. Most where good, some were quite similar. We had a reservation and it took forever for them to get food out there for us (over an hour) . Parking was terrible but not their fault.

Consistently delicious food, comfortable setting. The dishes are described well in the menu, and the sauces and flavor combinations have always been both delicious and distinctive. After 2 lunches there and 1 dinner, I feel sure I can just point at an item on the menu, and have an excellent meal. Try their mustard leaf appetizer--superb!!

This restaurant is the one I always prefer. I visit many restaurants but here I go the most. The stuff is very welcoming and the cooking they cook is so fresh and tasty. I am always happy to have a good meal in this restaurant. I highly recommend this place.

Really authentic Thai food in the heart of CA ! Good food, splendid service and unique ambience that's more down to earth than most Michelin star restaurants. Would recommend the noodles and rabbit curry highly as well as the pork ribs (be ready for super spicy though). Can't wait to go back to try the cocktails and new seasonal items!

They were willing to make our food without sugar and it was super delicious! The beef was tender and lucious with just the right amount of spice, and the papaya salad was perfectly tart and crisp with a hint of sweet toasty peanut. Lovely, kind service and cozy atmosphere as well.

Had an excellent dinner with a large group at Soi 4. The service was pretty fast and the servers did their best to accommodate our party with check-splitting.

The decor was really fancy--it's supposed to be street food, but you couldn't possibly tell from the way the restaurant looked. Definitely upscale. Unfortunately, the food was...just ok. I had the pad kee mao, which wasn't very spicy.

Great service, they were accommodating for a large party and for a last minute change. Vegetables were bright and fresh, dessert was delicious, and the bill was reasonable. The only thing I can recommend is providing some meat sourcing info on the menu. Thanks!

I have dined at this restaurant for many years, and I can honestly say that it's just not as good as it used to be. I was very dissapointed this evening. The Duck curry dish I ordered was not fresh, and was probably made a couple of days ago and reheated before they served it. It just wasn't a pleasant dinner. I now looking for other places to dine in the area.
