I love Sofra Bakery. I think it's one of the best three bakeries in Boston along with Flour and Clearwater. But beyond their delicious baked goods, the mezze platter is also awesome. You really can't go wrong. A healthy alternative to a regular brunch as well, you can get tons of delicious veggies here. Have also had the great cheese borek and the sausage and grits special. The only downside is the line on weekends and somewhat confusing table service, but it's worth dealing with for the beautiful food.

Sofra is well worth the wait on the corner. The array of baked goods, Mezze s & Fresh dishes accompanied by Middle Eastern flavors & spices is a go to in Boston & Cambridge Area. This Sweet Potato Dish, might be the best iteration of a baked potato

Amazing spot. Just loved the entire experience. It's a cute cafe-- a great spot to meet friends. They have an assortment of delicious homemade pastries and a mix of mediterranean spreads and dips. All the foods I tried was amazing. There's a small local wine shop attached to the bakery. A unique and delicious find.

GO HERE FOR BREAKFAST!! You may not get a seat, but be patient, the food and coffee is worth it. The food is not your ordinary breakfast (Mediterranean), but will be worth every bite. This place is a Boston classic, , I will definitely be going here often.

SOFRA is a Turkish word that means a picnic, a special table preparation of food or a small square kilim rug for eating.

Sofra Bakery is the second location created by the Oleana Restaurant Group, and was established in 2008 by Executive Chef Ana Sortun, together with business partner & Executive Pastry Chef, Maura Kilpatrick. While traveling in Turkey, still deciding on the name for the bakery, Ana and Maura would ask the locals what the word Sofra meant to them. They were amazed at how the word instantly brought a smile to people s faces.

The spices are amazing. Every dish is unique and the blended spice mixes only add to the adventure of getting a sampling of a bunch of different flavors that all taste amazing. Plus, the cozy room with the mash-up of chairs and the hot drinks they serve make it a great place to feel come table in winter.

The food here never disappoints. If you're into Middle Eastern food and desserts, this is the place. Even if you're not into that kind of food, this is still THE place and you're missing out.

'm not sure whether this is a 3 or 4, but I feel like sometimes reviews inflates things, so I fell it is my duty to bring the average down a bit.

In a vacuum I really like Sofra, food is good, drinks are fresh and tasty and I can walk to it! However, it's really expensive and the amount of food you get is pretty small. $9 for a breakfast sandwich that's like 4 bites.

Overall its a great treat if you want to grab a coffee, tea, or homemade fruit drink and a snack, but my wallet can't handle it very often. If your's can, more power to you and I highly suggest going to Sofra.

They give very small portions and they take very long to get the food ready. They also didn't give me the pastry I ordered. The food itself, and the service is fine. But not worth it if you want something that fills you up that you can get quickly.

My favorite cafe of all time. Simply the best in all categories: coffee, pastties, savory, selection. The food is beautiful and delicious. If you haven't tried this gem, it will change your life .

Sofra is very good, but I don't quite understand why everybody loves it so much. I mean, the ingredients are great, and the food is well prepared, and since they've updated the dining room or sitting area, it's much easier to hang out there. I still don't quite understand the fascination. I feel like you get a little ripped off here. I don't know... Maybe I'm just being salty about it. Maybe it's because I usually find the staff to be completely uninterested and far "too cool." I don't know. It's definitely worth a visit.

Food is good - portions are pretty small for the price. The issue I have with Sofra is that it is almost always impossibly crowded. There's not enough seating or space for customers so if you aren't prepared to get takeaway you may be disappointed.

I love this place, food is awesome but the service is none existing.

I called 48h in advance as indicated on the website for pre-ordering breakfast for 10 people. They refused to take my order, therefore I showed up in the morning before opening at 8am and asked to buy for 250 usd of stuff. We forgot one little item and they asked us to wait in line again for 20 mins, absolutely not trying to help.

PS: by refusing to take our order, it created a long wait for other customers.
PS2: they sold us many meze in small boxes without mentioning that it would not come with Pita or Bread...

Sublime food with a large array of options. Go with a friend and try lots of things. Start with the Turkish breakfast and a cold meze platter (You can pick several from their selection).

They serve Turkish coffee, which is made with finely ground beans that are settled in the bottom of the cup. It's not for everyone, but its a very recommendable experience if you like black coffee.

This is also a great place for gifts, from unique cookies to harder-to-find spices (like Aleppo pepper).

I always think I'm going to like this place more than I do. Very noisy and crowded seating. I get the feeling that they don't really want you to sit there. I understand that they are short on space, but they have quite a bit of space allocated to a wine store that doesn't seem to get much business, and I think it would be better used for seating.

Great place for brunch! An amazing selection of food that its hard to find in Boston. I recommend getting there early or with a lot of extra time. The reason for it is that the place is very small, so it's hard to get a place to sit and enjoy your food.

This shouldn't be a Middle Eastern bakery!!!! I'm from the Middle East and what you guys serve is absolutely trash!!! I went there today for the first time to try it out...... I was extremely disappointed and wasted my money. i ordered an egg sandwich with halloumi cheese and bacon. it wasn't even halloumi cheese, it taste like cheddar cheese and the bacon taste so bad. I also ordered an iced latte and it took them forever to make it. After waiting 15 mins for my latte I threw it away, tasted like plastic. Never going back there again.

The good: the place, althought small, has very nice decorations and overall atmosphere. The staff is super nice and friendly.

The bad: Their shawerma no where near shawerma and tasted, unfortunately, really bad. It truly wasn't shawerma or cooked the way shawerma is made. The lamb seemed to be prepared in a slow cooker, chicken was done on a flat top grill.

Great breakfast options, croissants, tartlets, shakshuka, etc. with a Mediterranean and Turkish twist.

2nd time here and tried the weekend only donuts. Believe the hype. These are the best donuts I've ever had. I am literally licking the frosting off the bakery paper.

Exquisite pastries and tasty savory foods. Very good Turkish coffee. Prices pretty high. That is the only deterrent to buying too many pastries, which is a real danger for me when they taste this good.y favorites so far are the spinach cheese gozleme, a kind of stuffed flatbread, and the Myer lemon marmalade turnover, a deeply satisfying and pleasurable experienced. Also good: the morning bun with orange blossom icing.

Be prepared for long lines on weekends and a small space that gets extremely cramped when busy. There's no real place to stand and wait for your food when it's crowded. If you find that stressful, come on a weekday, and not during breakfast or lunch rush.

Love the food but can't always see the value. Pretty expensive for what you get. My favorites here are the granola and homemade yogurt, their egg sandwich and the Turkish breakfast. All Pastries are yummy too.

Dropped by around noon on Sunday this past weekend. There was a line; you get in the same line whether you want to order in-person or you're there to pick up an online order. You cannot currently enter the store at all; they've set up a small window that you step up to. The staff is behind plexi-glass and they were wearing masks. Customers are also required to wear masks and they have markings on the sidewalk so that you maintain distance from others while standing in line.

Wanted to pick up dessert for a small dinner (about 5-6 people). I asked for the Salted Maple Custard Pie. The lady behind the counter was nice enough to bring it out to show me as I wanted to confirm the size before buying it. As it turned out, there was only one left so I went for it. Couldn't resist getting a tahini brown butter donut for myself - that was also the last one they had left.

The pie was delicious and everybody really liked it. It had a crisp, flaky crust that's a little bit like baklava, and the salty-sweet combination of the maple custard was wonderful. They sell it by the slice too. The donut is brioche filled with tahini brown butter custard and glazed with salted caramel ganache. I couldn't really taste the nutty richness of brown butter anywhere but it was still good-quality pastry.

Overall, this is a small gem of a bakery. A little pricey, but worth it for a treat once in a while.

I have been here twice and during the not so rush hours. Loved the shawarmas. Good seasoning in the lamb and chicken And not overpowering. But my favorite was the falafel and the beet tzatziki that comes with it. I also love the interiors of this cute little place. since I went at less busy times, got ample space to sit and have food. Bakery goods looked good too. Gonna try next time!

Always amazing and inspiring. Come early for brunch or late for lunch. Delicious prepared foods conveniently packaged for takeaway. Terrific variety of spices and ingredients you'll find you must add to your pantry. I have loved everything I've tried here.

I am a pastry and dessert person and Sofra is tops. The pastries are absolutely fantastic - specifically the Umm-Ali and Persian-spice donut. The espresso drinks are OK (compared to really good spots) and the seating is awkward and limited.

We ordered Sahlep with big hopes however the sahlep served had nothing similar with the real sahlep we know from Turkey. Other products may be OK but I would not go for Sahlep again. Btw the customer relations are great.

That neighborhood, including the Coolidge Square area, has several stores selling Greek-Armenian-Middle Eastern food. Sofra has some higher quality, higher priced dishes than the others. We do take out. We frequent Sofra, Sevan, and Arax when we're in the area.
