The perfect balance between historic and renovated. This hotel makes you feel like you are living in a rich cultural history that is only described in novels. The staff are so lovely and never make you feel rushed. They genuinely try to get to know you and check in with you. An experience unlike anywhere else I have ever been.

It is one of the best hotels and their ethnicities in Aswan, as it has furniture from the days of King Farouk and was staying in it and enjoying wonderful views of the Nile River as well as Nubia from the western side, as well as north and south, and on the eastern side overlooking the Nubian Museum and its garden, and as we mentioned earlier, this distinguished location made it one of the best hotels that you can Go down to enjoy your visit to Aswan

It's an honor to be here for sure. It's quite different and really awesome. But the security that belongs to the police are disrespectful for Egyptians. But I'm not going to let that effect me and stopping me from Enjoying this nice hotel.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Sofitel Legend Old Cataract.. The location is prime, convenient for all visitors purposes. A fine mix between art and history in each corner, my booked room was upgraded to a nice and cozy suite, where I enjoyed the lovely Nile view from the terrace. U can smell cleanliness and sanitization every where and safety measures were applied with no deviation. Thanks to the management team for projecting the beautiful and classy image of the company and for setting example for all the staff..
The positive attitude of the staff and taking the extra mile was one noticeable trait..

In Restaurants and Bars you can enjoy variety of culinary arts and services.

I was overwhelmed with my dinner at the ancient 1902 ( French Restsurant)

Don't forget to check pictures and celebrities reviews on the corridor walls moreover take photos beside your beloved ones

The whole experience is overall joyful and hotel is suitable for all guest types and age ranges..every one who has passion towards beauty and biographies.. Am not sure about children

Thanks to Mr. Mostafa at the front desk for introducing the loyalty program.

The Sofitel Legend Old Cataract.. Already missing you U R Simply The Best.

Agatha Christie stayed in the past to write a novel about the Nile murder case, and Wiston Churchill and other heads of state stayed in the past. The view of the Nile River from the terrace is a very spectacular view, and in the back you can not forget the sight of the white Falluca going in front of the ancient Egyptian ruins.
The main building has also been completely renovated, and it is clean and totally luxurious. In addition, the new building, which was once called New Cataract, is built on the hill within the site, and the view from this upper floor is also exceptional. The main building has luxurious rooms, but I do not know if it will be Nile view, but since all the new buildings are Nile views, cost performance should be better in the new building.
Breakfast will be eaten on the terrace of the main building, but the views from here are also exceptional.
It is not a place you can visit easily, but it is a hotel that you want to stay once.

The former royal palace of King Farouk has been thoroughly renovated preserving an atmosphere between oriental and British colonial style. Successful and pleasantly luxurious. The highlight is of course the location opposite the island of Elephantine and overlooking the approaching desert. Picturesque! Pool clean, little infinity, big and warm. Service very attentive. Everything was there with a nice view. Own pier for boats, just rent felucca and get on the bottom ... So book ;-)

This hotel is incredible. It's expensive to stay but I'm so glad that my wife and I stretched the purse strings to stay a few nights here at the end of a Nile cruise. We booked a Nile view room with a terrace and spent much of our time sat there soaking up the view which is breathtaking. The hotel itself has so much bygone style and charm and the service is impeccable.

Visited the Old Cataract Hotel as a non-resident, for drinks with friends at sunset. Views were amazing. Service was excellent and staff were very attentive. Prices were higher-end, but matched by the quality and ambience of the surrounds. Grounds surrounding the buildings were stunning and very well maintained. The historical '1902' (restaurant) is a must see whilst you are there... Jaw- droppingly beautiful. I would love to return for a meal to appreciate the surroundings at some time in the future.

Best hotel in Egypt and probably the world!
We stayed at the palace Cataract suite and I wished we could live there forever.
Staff are super friendly, professional and do their best to make your stay perfect.
I would like to specially thank the terrace team for their wonderful service.

The old cataract grand hotel is magnificent, most service is great and warm people except one person, the hotel manager, a bold guy who is so rude pray not to bump into him. After paying I was following the instructions of the receptionist who invited us to walk around the hotel and see the hanging photos of famous people who stayed her before, i was with my mother a university professor and my 13 yo son when this unprofessional bully ran at us and said you are not allowed her residents have complained of the voice, although we did not make a sound, we were actually whispering just as we do inside the french Louver, the sad thing happened after that, you see i went back to the front desk and asked further about that grand tour and another guy assured me it is allowed and infact we can even join all the other nationalities in a group tour after five minutes so we did. And we went EVERYWHERE did EVERYTHING normal tourists do, like taking photos and talk while walking lol, and walked those same corridors he claimed we cant be there because some imaginary guest had already complained in a group of 25-people imagine the sound. The sad thing is when i confronted him after asking why he embarrassed me and my mother infront of my son he simply said because this tour it not made for Egyptians but for those who are able to pay 1500 dollars a night, imagine the racism, just because we were the only Egyptians in that group he immediately jumped to the conclusion that we didn't pay in Dollars for a tour that is actual free hence, we don't deserve to be treated with dignity. Hypocritical antisemitic complicated individual that was placed by a genious as the floor manager! Of one of the best hotels, just to destroy its reputation, Good job, bravo

It is sad to say the experience and diner of/at this oriental styled hotel is the 1 of only 2 experiences (next to our guesthouse) in Aswan that are positive for me.
Perfect service great tasting food. You get what you want and where you pay for. Great atmosphere.
