The building is beautiful. There has been construction on the building for some time now, with that being said the pool has been out of order. But if you are there just for the casino they switch the games up often keeping in fresh in side. If you are staying at the hotel the rooms are always clean and well taken care of.
I think they should still require mask. The chlorine levels in their shower is really high I can understand in the pool and the hot tub for germs but not so much in the rooms where you take a shower. And there is a way that you can run a buffet by the people wearing masks and handing out the gloves to use when they serve themselves there are other buffets that continue to stay open and safe by doing that.
Stopped in to try our luck for the evening. Not a gambler but tried something different. I was pleasantly surprised. The casino wasn't overly crowded. I was expecting a lot of cigarette smoke, but it seemed as if they were not allowing smoking in the casino, because everyone was at the front entrance smoking.
It wasn't mandated to wear a mask inside the casino, about 75% of the people were not wearing a mask. The place felt vented with cool air circulating throughout the casino.
They had hand sanitizer through out the tables and slot machines to clean your hands.
Me and 20 of my friends and my brother go here once a year, we set up a golf putting with the casino. I have a terrific time every time we go here. The restaurants inside the casino are not only delicious but reasonably priced. If you go I suggest trying the steak restaurant, the legends dinner or "slice" pizza! I only wish there were less days in the year so it didn't tale so long to go back.
Rooms are great. Hotel check in staff are great. Bar tenders were nice. Paid good money for gas and gamble package room. Went to eat at the diner as we always do. 30 minute wait, got seated by a lady that couldn't close her mouth, sat and were ignored for 10 minutes while one employee with gloves on rubbed his nose for 5 minutes, manager complaining with a busboy about a poor tip (pocket change they called it), and 4 employees (and a guy that looked like a manager) stood in the food window area doing nothing next to the guy rubbing his nose. After 10 minutes with no greeting had seen enough, we left. Only other place really to eat as a family had a line out to the hallway all night. Used to at least be able to grab pizza. Thats closed now and combined with the over crowded cafe. 2 elevators working for an entire hotel while stairs are not marked anywhere. Pool is closed with no warning upon booking or check in. Not a great time with kids. We left at 930pm and drove home after having to eat at Mcdonalds and taking home a $50 food voucher that was impossible to use without spending 2 hours time. Room sits empty tonight instead. Wasted an entire day and 4 hours driving. Been many times before Covid and had a great time. Never again.
It appears as if the casino wants to make up all the money it lost during the shut down for Covid. They have taken away several of the perks that customers used to get for coming to the casino. Plus the food situation is just rediculous. The open eateries usually have a hour wait time where there never used to be one. All this plus other minor changes does not make for a pleasant experience.
Nice place. Just wish they still took coins I don't like the paper tickets for the wind then you have to cash them in I like bringing home buckets with coins. More Fun
I had fun. They at least let one play and don't take all your money right away. The larger bets seem to do better on the slots. Also the machines here required "warming up" at least in my experience. No bonuses first spin. At least for me. All in all a good time. Clean place and great staff.
Ascend Bar and Grill was pretty good. Our waitress, Trinity, was beyond amazing! The kitchen must have lost our order and forgot some food but she was very sweet and got our food out to us then kept making sure everything was good. She was super sweet even with dealing with many other tables, some of which were not as friendly to her for no reason. The food was pretty good, the Monstrosity burger and the Cod and fries meals were good. Recommend for a change of pace in the area, and hope you get Trinity because she makes the meal even better.
Wife and I ate at the Ascend with some friends. Loved it! Steakhouse burger with an over easy egg is spot on . Easily a top 5 burger in my book. Try the place out, you won't be sorry. Lots of tvs and tasty food & drinks.
