Smyth Air Conditioning added and up charged me on everything! Joe came to do the work. I was charged $120 for service call in addition to $140 per hour for 2 hours of labor to replace a capacitor which takes about 20 minutes to do! Then he said he added 2 pounds of Freon and charged $75 per pound for that. On Amazon, 25 pounds of Freon is for $200. This is $8 per pound. I did not need Freon added. Only a month ago, I replaced the leaking evaporator coil and that company topped off the Freon. He also charged me $55 to return the bad capacitor to dealer as it is still under warranty. A new capacitor costs less. So it s like paying for a new one. My bill came up to $565. First of all, companies do waive the service call fee if you take them to fix the problem. Secondly, the last AC company that replace the coil charged me $75 per hour for labor and waived service call fee. The AC has no leak, so there was no need to add Freon. He added that cost to the bill for nothing. I respect honesty but there is none from this company. They are a ripoff! I asked to discuss the charges with manager and he agreed to do a discount and accepted $200 for the work done.

Best place to call for a.c. problems and installations

Call their office to have a sales rep to come and give me a replacement of my condo condenser and air handler estimate. Guy Chris Ortiz came by checked everything, kept saying too much work, and told me I should be getting an estimate very soon, but 3 days goes by and I never got a call about the estimate. I called their office asking for the estimate and again never got a call back. It's not acceptable to me. I am also in sales and if you don't follow up with your customer? is just a bad business.

Called Smyth Air Conditioning to replace my aging Air Conditioner. Vernon Word, the sales rep, was very helpful and took the time to explain the new AC technology available. He made sure we chose the correct tonnage and seer level for the size of my house. The installation techs were very friendly and helped us setup the programming of our digital thermostat. They cleaned up inside and out. I would highly recommend them to anyone. I saved $100 a month during the summer months on my electric bill.

Ok. So I used Smyth back in 2006-7. Then called them for a minor issue around 2010. Always good. Moved recently, just called a different company for ac not getting cold enough. Robert (I think was his name) came, spent an hour going over unit, condenser, returns and vents. He was very thorough. He said it's a simple fix at this point. For $300 problem resolved. It's been 2 months, during this hottest July and ac has been running great since Robert diagnosed and fixed. Another company wanted to re engineer all my ductwork. Once again, thankful Smyth was honest and reliable.

Great service. I've been using them for years. Recently had an appointment for routine maintenance they were right on time knowledgeable and polite. The same goes for the people who I spoke to on the phone to set up the appointment and the people who confirm the appointment it's always wonderful dealing with Smyth Air. I found them because I always saw my father's homeowners association using them in Regal Palms in Palm Springs constantly. And I had seen their name on trucks around town since I was a little child.
