It's incredibly delicious, but it's way overpriced. Worth going to once, but it isn't somewhere I feel I can be a regular because of the steep prices.

Great tacos and Mac and cheese. Recently revised menu; no longer has sandwiches or platters.
Good selection of different kinds of tacos. This is a salad with brisket. You can choose the topping. They were out of the blackened bits that are on the menu & a friend who goes all the time said that they run out frequently so order them if you can! (Service took a little while so I wouldn't suggest it if you are in a hurry but the servers were friendly & good.) Good drink menu.
The absolute best tacos around. Meats are out of this world. Burnt ends omg. Try the corn and broccoli
Great atmosphere, amazing food, high quality fresh ingredients with most of the food (ketchup, cheese, etc) made in-house. They were also accomodating of my gluten allergy, allowing me to fully enjoy my time. Thing to note, however, is that it is cash-only (at least on Burger Tuesday). Check it out if you have a chance!
Food is incredible. The only negative is that it is cash only and they don't take reservations. The wait time is always ridiculous. My boyfriend and I usually go next door to the beer shop and have some drinks in the basement while we wait for a table to open up.
We had great time with the efficient service, with the excellent
Great food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend the Mac and Cheese.
Fantastic food. Good mixed drinks, reasonable happy hour.
Ordered a burnt end taco and slaw, the meat was perfect as it should be, tender and juicy without being mush, however my complaint with it was that despite I know that burnt ends will have more seasoning rub and smoke flavor than a prepared brisket flat, the burnt ends were too over seasoned and smoked to the point of it being overwhelming. If not for that it would've been exceptionally good for anywhere let alone Pittsburgh.
I wouldn't be surprised if in addition to natural smoke they also inject liquid smoke.
The slaw was very good, it could've used a little more apple but was still delicious.
I will try ordering a different meat next time with hopes the first time was the exception and not the normal.
Either way I would recommend anyone that likes smoked meats to give them a try.
I was there for the first time today. I had the brisket tacos and Mac n cheese. And 2 Iron City beers. Hands down the best tacos I've ever had...BY FAR!!! BUT...the prices are insane in my opinion. That's my only complaint. And that I had to beg for a domestic beer.
We never actually ate here so I hesitate to even rate it, but it was such a rough experience I felt it necessary to share. We had first called to ask about their gluten free option for my sister in law who has celiacs. There literal answer was we have corn tortilas. When we inquired further about the tortilla fillers being gluten free they said ask the server when we get here. I found that rude but tried to assume it was one bad server. Then we actually came. Oh my with our two kids. How dare we? We were treated with the only word I can give to the situation. Contempt. Needless to say we left because we did not want to stay with their claimed two hour wait even though we were the only people there waiting. No sign of an I m sorry but more a don t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya . Haha. Hope your experience is better than ours.
Absolutely fantastic. I was a little skeptical when a buddy of mine told me how good the tacos were here but they lived up to the hype. I have had tacos at most of the mexican places around town but this place has the most unique tasting tacos I've ever had - in a good way.
The queso and chips were awesome as well. Low key place and really reasonable price.
Definitely recommended.
Delicious smoked ingredients, everything has that special touch & the fresca
Very trendy restaurant with a very small menu. I got tacos (which they seem to be most famous for) and they were insanely expensice, but they were the best tacos I ever had. I went there during an odd hour so I did not have too much trouble getting a table. This is a cash-only establishment. It's a good place to eat if you want something a little different.
Your tacos are delicious but uour macaroni and cheese are the best I've ever tasted they were amazing i will recommend your restaurant. It was well worth the price and are waitress was very nice and friendly
Oue whole family visited this place couple of weeks ago after my brothers graduation ceremony. Staff is very friendly and professional, we asked them if we could switch our seats after we already sat down, and they made us feel welcome to do so. Food was delicious, their fried olive salad was something new for us all so we gave it a try and it was so worth it. Their taco bread and spicy siracha sauces are homemade. Tacos were delicious and explosive with different spices and sauces. Definitely recommend giving this place a try!!!
If you ask nicely, they will add an egg to your salad. The lemon vinaigrette is delicious!
Very very busy on a Saturday night, certainly not enough seating to meet demand. Hostess was not in the best mood because of this but I'm sure she felt under quite a bit of pressure. We finally got seated and the food was delicious, maybe we'll try going for a late lunch when it will be quieter.
Amazing food! If the Burnt Ends are available, they are A MUST! All of the tacos I had were very flavorful and had so much meat! The atmosphere is very casual and friendly! Local drinks and mixed drinks are fantastic. The Brisket is also darn near perfect (if not perfect)!! A great restaurant all around!
Seriously....items on menu that you are not allowed to order. Please adjust your menu accordingly.
We ordered this to-go and got 1 order of tacos per person and shared queso which was enough (5 people). The flavors and options are very good and the food was filling. I will be back!
Small portions for expensive prices. A small side dish of macaroni is almost $10. The whole "cash only" thing is super inconvenient. Yummy food though!
Great service! Special order served fast. Best wings in Pittsburgh. Outstanding HAPPY HOUR. CASH-only policy = no problem.
Good ambience and a solid food selection. A bit pricey for the size of the taco, and the taco adjuncts are not too creative, but the main event (the smoked meat) does not disappoint. 5 dollar cocktails and a respectable taplist are a welcome companion to the good food.
A small but solid bourbon selection, amazing nachos. The tacos are fine, but a heads up, if you are expecting Mexican from the southwest this is a different style.
Five stars for the queso and cocktails, three stars for the tacos. They are huge - more like small burritos (which isn't a problem) and packed with filling (also good) but to me they were very one-note on flavor and spice and not very exciting. I might go back for drinks and queso but the tacos aren't worth a second trip.
We visited for brunch and had some great food. I ordered doughnuts and the French toast, which overloaded the sweet side, but I'd go back in a heartbeat!
I've been here before a couple times, and the quality of food is great. I particularly liked the chorizo, and believe the smoked meats are great. The negative review though is for the service, which has happened a couple times now. It took over an hour and half first time to get food after being seated (I think our order was given to another table?), and now tonight we tried to call ahead, but somehow our wait for a table was 2 hours. We had to bug them to check a list of where we were in the wait, and we ultimately decided to leave. Having been there, food is good, but not worth the service and 2 hour wait to be seated.
Food was great! Awesome tacos! Burnt ends were incredible! Highly recommend.
The best secret kept in the city! Wonderful food! The people are very friendly, and the service is excellent. The restaurant is not elegant and there are no limited seats. You can also bring your own bottle of wine or beer for a small fee, or enjoy a cold glass of fresh lemonade. They also have Mexican Coca-Cola in bottles. Cash only. No credit cards accepted.
Ribs were burnt to hell and back. Probably the worst rack of ribs ive ever had. Should of went for the tacos.
The hospitality and food was amazing. For vegetarians its really amazing
Food was good. Vety crowded and not in the best location or part of town
Good tacos, nice atmosphere and good celiac options. I'd order 2-3 tacos for proper variety and meal size, but the wait can be a bit long.
The Mac and Cheese is absolutely amazing. Warning that the Chicken taco is very spicy! The pork taco has been my favorite!
The tacos are fantastic, but make sure you check out burger night too. It s cash only!
So consistent, so delicious. The queso is amazing, best I've ever had. Great beer selection too. The burger night is also worth checking out as well!
Went in with my family they told us 1 HR wait. Went outside to wait with the kids. Came back for chips and queso so thekids could eat something. Hour and ten minutes later I call from the PNC lot to find out how much longer only to be informed that the guy never put our name on the list so they would not be able to accomodate us. When I argued he said it was miscommunication on his part, but they were already booked for the night. So I have a car full of children and everywhere else has closed because it's after 6 on a Sunday.
Great food. Not your typical taco place, but they are creative with the ingredients. Definitely try the Mac n cheese! Also they don't sell alcohol here but you can BYOB. They have a fridge where you can keep the drinks cold as well.
Sit at the bar. Food is fantastic, cocktails are equally as satisfying.
Consistently some of the best barbecue I've ever had. Tuesday's are Burger night. Their burgers? Wow. Out of this world. Tender as all get out.
Amazing food with flavors like you never tasted! Highly recommend going.
Goodness gracious how can I give this place less than 5 stars!? Some serious tacos chock full of heavenly smoked meat. OMG. Atmosphere is pretty chill too. 6 stars. Be aware though: cash only.
Fantastic food and great service. Their focus on a small menu has paid off!!!
The food is AMAZING. Literally the best tacos I have ever had in my life, no contest. I had the Chicken Apple taco, which had the perfect blend of Smokey chicken, sweet apple, savory cheese and slightly spicy sauce. They have a house made Horchata that is really tasty as well. It's made with a little bit of lime, which is soooo refreshing! We had the mac and cheese with beef tips it was rich and creamy and made for a perfect side for all of us to share. They have a surprising amount of good vegetarian and vegan options as well.
Most of the bad comments you see are about wait time, but they really try to clear space and seat people quickly. This place is absurdly popular for good reason. If you plan to visit, I recommend using the no wait app. It tells you exactly where you are in the queue so you can plan accordingly. If you are going during dinner expect at least a 2 hour wait if you don't have the app, they don't do reservations. The wait staff have always been very pleasant and patient even though they are always packed.
Top notch menu. Excellent food items. Amazing handcrafted cocktails.
Decided to try this place out last Saturday as I d been craving a good burger, and was not disappointed. I can confidently say this is easily the best burger I ve had in Pittsburgh, and probably the best I ve had in this country. I had the More
This place had great tasting food but very small portions for the price
Started off with the original queso and "chips". The chips were a cross between crunchy pita and soggy chips. Very greasy, salty and chewy. The queso looked delicious but after a few chip hybrids in, it dawned on me, this is potato soup! Sure enough a spoonful of this "queso" could pass for a cheesy potato soup. As far as queso goes it might be worse than chipotle's but if they served it as potato soup I'd give it two thumbs up. This brings me to the taco I ordered, that just so happened to have potato soup on it and actual potatoes. So needless to say it was a smokey chicken potato soup taco, not very appetizing. I would have rated lower but I did have a bite of another taco that was quite delicious. The queso and chips really let me down in the beginning and carried on through my taco. Also, quite expensive but had a cool, unique vibe.
I went for brunch and was thoroughly disappointed by the menu selection and the food. Maybe this place is better for lunch or dinner, the brunch is really meh and it took 30 minutes before we got our food.
I have been here many times! I find the Tacos quite filing, two with an appetizer and drink leaves me full. Friendly staff. Remember to get cash at the ATM across the street as this restaurant is cash only. Younger crowd 20-30s and lively at night and on the weekends!
The food was barely warm when it was delivered and it was just okay.
They don't have a gf menu but will substitute corn tortillas if you explain your needs to the waitress.
Great food. Had the pulled pork with mac n cheese and macaroni salad. Most of the sauces have a bit of a kick to them. Make sure to have a reservation, wait time after ~4pm go from 30 mins to 2 hours+. Also they are CASH ONLY, but do have an ATM within.
Tacos came out cold. Tastes poorly. Service was slow. Not a stellar place.
The Apple chicken tacos are so good. Would definitely recommend to anyone.
Always fresh, always impressed at how deliciously unique their offerings are!
Burger was excellent. Loved the fries and Mac n cheese. Food choices were extremely limited. No soft drinks. I wanted to try their tacos. No, not on that night. Only burgers and a couple salads to choose from. Prices were . . . well . . . I've never seen the likes! Burger fries, Mac n cheese, no drink $25 with tax and tip. That's way over the top. $15 may be the high end of fair. Seating was very limited. Parking was a challenge. I parallel parked 3 blocks away. I am curious about the tacos but will not return. The hipsters around me seemed to be very happy and enjoying themselves. You may want to try it.
Literally the best atmosphere around. Along with good eats, brew, people, and smells. You can't not go it when you walk by smelling a smoked master piece. Not to mention there are sufficient food options for your friends that don't do meat or require gluten free standards. A+ and Highly recommended for everyone local or not.
If you're looking for traditional mexican street food, you may be a little dissappointed... HOWEVER........ If you're looking for properly smoked awesome meat, you're in the right place. Great, fast service, friendly and professional staff, and amaaaazing pork. The rib taco, with its beauteous spicy pickles and smokey, fatty pork, and porter bbq sauce is absolutely life-affirming. A must-try!
....maybe twice....
Seriously. Try it.
Nice little joint. Good tacos and a good (if short) draft list. The spicy pickles are a must have!
I am no taco expert, but I can easily say their Super Chicken Taco is one of not the most delicious taco I have eaten.
At around 8 dollars a taco, these tacos admittedly are not cheap for their portion size. But they are incredibly delicious and definitely worth the price. The chicken was perfectly crispy with a delicious creamy southwestern style sauce.
The service is friendly and the atmosphere is great. Definitely a must try.
House chips and Caso dip was really good. The tacos don't look big but are quite filling. Two is more than enough for dinner.
Three stars is mainly an indication of the value for the money. I wasn't disappointed in the food, but it is overpriced for what you get. They also have expensive drinks, with some of the highest cocktail prices I've seen in Pittsburgh ($12) and $3.50 for horchata.
My friends and I were quite disappointed. To start, it took over 10 minutes just to be acknowledged by the staff upon our arrival. Dinner service was really slow. The biggest problem, all three of us were underwhelmed by both our tacos and our sides. There are a lot better taco options in Pittsburgh these days - Tako and Bakersfield immediately come to mind.
Great tacos, of course, but all of the food items are delicious. The mac and cheese is particularly good. The amazing smoky smell will make you hungry the minute you walk in the door.
Good rolls. Just one is not enough to fill your belly, need two of those!
Fantastic, expensive tacos that it's hip to wait for..? I love the food and the staff are really cool people, but don't expect the efficiency or low cost of a taco place. Still, I highly recommend visiting, especially if you can get there during off-peak hours.
Great dinner. Barbecue Mexican food. Awesome idea! Queso was rich; our favorite has brisket in it. Chips were unique but help up well with the heavy cheese. Tacos were burrito sized. Sazarac was one of the best I ve had, from a large sample size....
The tortilla chips were very unique and tasted great. The portion for most dishes is reasonable, except for the brisket which is a bit too expensive.
A little hard to find if you're an outta towner yet equally a great find. The food and the atmosphere was awesome! Will definitely be back on my next trip to PA.
Great tacos. Tasty BBQ. Awesome happy hour specials.
Great food!! Nice staff and well done homemade ingredients.
Funky atmosphere, overall meh experience. Service and food definitely do not live up to the expectations of a 2+-hour wait for a table. Ran out of sides, screwed up the replacement sides, didn't have a proper knife to cut through the rack of ribs, massive fail when they dumped one of our meals all over the table and didn't wipe the spilled food and sauce off of the table or replace the spilled glasses of water they cleared away. At least half of us didn't like the BBQ sauce served with our meal (which meant I ate dry brisket.) I was so cold that I wrapped my winter coat around me as we ate. If you are into aesthetics and want to eat at a cool-looking hipster place go for it it. If you want even semi-decent service, avoid. There are too many other good places nearby. We won't be back.
I've been once before, had the ribs and the smoked wings. Both were excellent. Went there with my girlfriend last night, the wings were off the menu and, despite still appearing on the menu, the bartender told us ribs were a weekend only More
Fantastic meats. Tacos are amazing. Some of those sauces are pretty spicy.
