I volunteered at Smith Courty for just alittle awhile and loved the people and captain. They were extremely supportive in my career research and would still be volunteering if I hadn t moved! No one else I d rather be pulled over by! Smith County > Tyler Pd

I give them 60% rating at this time as they seem to have improved over the years. Hard to accurately rate a department with such a sordid past. New officers may not be minions of Tyler's old "elite" like they were and hopefully they'll apply the law equally.
I called to report mail theft from my neighbor and no one showed up. There also has been someone tampering with the locks on my front and back door. When they got there the person was gone and they called it suspicious activity and told me I shouldn t have monitored security with a company and to go buy some WiFi cameras instead. I m pregnant and also have two small children and I calling the police was a waist of time they didn t seem to care and officer told me good luck as he was leaving

These guys are awesome at protecting the citizes of Smith County. Don't break the law, don't back talk, and don't give the attitude...you won't have a problem.
Big shout out to the officers of Smith county, We were notified of some of our equipment was stolen had been moved to Smith county, the officers meet us on scene and helped us successfully recover our stolen property! Thanks again guys for the help on everything!
