Never really checked out the place. But in the summer the garden is nice
Very cool little community garden / eco-system. I was scouting for photography locations in the area but stumbled upon a treasure
Popped by bike tube near here earlier today and noticed there was a public bike tool kit here. The people here were so kind and replaced it for me with parts they had on hand. Such a wonderful display of neighborliness! Thank you! Forever grateful!
A gem of nature, well looked after by a diverse sampling of marvelous people. Check out their events and experience the space yourself!
A lovely oasis of nature nestled into an otherwise gross industrial area. Bring the kids and a donation for the volunteers who run the place.
What a beautiful community garden! Cool abandoned rail tracks, lots of space for events and friendly staff!
I joined a potluck party one time. It was hella fun.
Was taking the long way to LIC from Sunnyside and happened upon this bit of wild nature, and also a bike repair outpost! I saw these when vacationing in Canada and thought it was really cool to find one back home in NYC! Thank you for providing the tools whoever runs this place!
A community garden which had started as a guerrilla project by a group of artists on land owned by the MTA.
It is now recognized by the city s department of parks and recreation.
The ranch hosts weekly, monthly, and annual events. It has programs for children and families, teaching gardening, and farming different types of vegetables, herbs, flowers, and honey, and has community compost and recycling. Children are taught to prepare and share meals. The ranch also participates in the different city events including tree giveaways.
It s a prime example of how to make property that belong to the public, accessible.
