We purchased 2 of the slingstudios. First one, defective, second one worked for 10 minutes then malfunctioned. I have worked in broadcast video almost 30 years. We had hoped this was an inexpensive method (1k dollars) to livestream our church services. I talked with support, no help. They towed the corporate line of we can't help you because it was purchased from a non authorized vendor. They were both BRAND NEW in sealed boxes. If I treated my customers at my business like I was treated, i would be out of business in no time. To say we were and are disappointed would be a HUGE understatement. Save your money and buy a more expensive, working video livestream box. On top of the headache. They did not even offer for me to send it in to be repaired at my cost. I figured I would try to call again to ask if I could pay myself to repair our unit. I was told sling did currently offer that service. BUT, Tanya, the rep I spoke with took down all pertinent information and informed me sling would replace my defective unit as a warranty swap. She is the only reason I am editing my review.

It's a very good idea, but the execution is really poor. We have very fast, reliable internet, but SlingTV consistently fails to open. It cycles on a black screen for a while, then says it can't be loaded. This happens more than it works. I purchased a three month package, so I can't even quit. Too bad, bc it's a better way to watch ESPN, but only when if works. I recommend waiting until they have it figured out.

Terrible customer service experience!

So I am not a Sling customer, but I found out a few weeks ago that an old credit card had been used for the last six months to pay for someone's Sling TV account. I called Sling, they shut down the account, and said they should be able to get me a refund once they validate that it was fraud. They even confirmed that the service hadn't even been used in months. I waited, but no refund came.

So I just called back, and now they're saying that because I claimed it was fraud, and they have no ability to validate fraud claims (???), no refund is possible. I tried escalating to someone higher, but he said there is nothing they can do and they are sorry for any confusion (i.e., false hope) from my previous call.

So apparently, if I had instead called and complained about bad service, or for some other reason, I could have gotten a refund. But because I specifically called it fraud, they're not willing to do anything.

(I talked to my credit card company about disputing the claims, and they can only go back for the last couple months. So I am out of luck for the previous 4 months of unauthorized transactions.)

Sling's customer service are cheaters and most unprofessional individuals. Even after cancelling my membership Sling still charging my credit card. According for me to stop Sling for illegal charges; I have to cancel me credit card with my banker and get a new replacement. Please friendly advice never use Sling... Not Recommended Service.
