This place is a complete dump. I was there on the coldest day of the year and they were having everyone stand outside while they leisurely checked tickets at the door when there was ample room to do so inside. The staff was rude and indifferent to the unsafe conditions they were subjecting their patrons to. During the show ceiling tiles dropped onto the audience and the roof leaked continuously onto the stage. The place was incredIbly rundown with frayed carpet on the (poorly lit) stairs and the bathroom Formica countertop badly damaged and revealed crumbling, rotten fiberboard. The escalators were all broken and appeared to have been so for some time. They also double sold a huge section of the seats and did effectively nothing to address the problem other than telling people to find other open (not as good as those paid for) seats. I cannot believe this place is licensed to operate.

By far the worst damn place to see a show this side of the river styxx. If you love slanted floors that leave your knees swollen and your back wrecked... Then this is your place. If you love the smell of piss then you will love the stairwells and bathrooms. I've seen 3 shows at the skyway.... There Will never be a 4th!

I've seen some good shows here but the place is pretty gross and seems to be falling apart. You know how First Ave and 7th Street Entry are kinda gritty and cool? Skyway is nothing like that. It's like they don't and are just using it until the building eventually collapses. No character whatsoever. Just dirty and in disrepair.

I've been going to this venue at least 1 a month for the last 2 years and I have to say I love it. Not as big, or new as some venues but they do it right. Honestly for my friends and I this place is like a second home.
The only thing I can say that is somewhat negative (an incident, not the venue) is that I've had an overly drunk 30+ year old man tried to fight me (20 years old at the time) and as soon as I pushed and cocked my arm for a punch security grabbed him and for his was out of there. Very respectful and they were able to see the situation unfold and knew I did not instigate the altercation.

Probably my favorite venue in Minneapolis! The parties here are always a blast. Typically there's EDM (dubstep, techno, etc) shows hold here. The music isn't my personal favorite but I always have a great time because of the bass, drinks, vibes, lights, and atmosphere! Aside from that, I've watched performances by Logic, Lupe Fiasco, Machine Gun Kelly, Mod Sun and more. I absolutely love this venue.

Came here for NYE (and have been here for multiple shows in the past few years) and had a fabulous time. Paid extra for VIP and had a perfect view above the crowd to see the stage. The people watching was great too! Saw a lot of people having a great night. Was concerned that many were getting too drunk but seemed like everyone was taken care of.

Mixed bar and nightclub and music venue. I've seen a wide variety of performances from rock to dubstep from cd release parties to large 2 day events with performers on all four stages. Great venue.

The Skyway is a movie theater that has been repurposed as a music venue. It has kind of a cool industrial feel because of it. It's a bit dimly lit and looks a bit grungy, largely due to the carpet in the entry way. It seems like a fair number of metal groups play it this venue so the aesthetic kind of works. I have seen The Sword and August Burns Red here. Being a former movie theater you have to walk outside the concert hall to find the bar and the floor is slanted. The slanted floor can get tiring to stand on after a while, but it helps with visibility so that is a plus. It's a nice size to have an authentic live music experience so all in all would recommend.

It's an old gutted movie theater. Literally removed the seats and added a stage. There's quite a severe slant on the floor. This becomes uncomfortable because you are standing with your toes at a downward angle. But this also makes watching dudes struggle to mosh on a slope can be entertaining.

Whew child the ghetto. Went here for Bone Thugs N Harmony concert. First off it looked like an hole in the wall after party spot. The whole floor was a downward slope in the room where they were performing (imagine being in heels) very very uncomfortable! Had to see 20 local artists perform before Bone Thugs came o n, only to perform an half hour, never again.

Terrific performance! Having a bar is great, but seemed understaffed and unable to accommodate the patrons during the intermission. We were instructed to go to a different line that turned out to be longer and barely made it back to our seats. The show was excellent!

Saw 2 concerts here. Lines for cocktails weren't very long. But if you've never been it can be confusing finding the entrance and exits. Just because it changed both times I went. Last concert I went to there was a fist fight and never once did I see security. That's the biggest downfall. Other than that place was awesome!

If your into edm this is about the best venue around almost all the big DJs are gonna be playing here on Fri or sat night unless there so big they can fill the target center... Which is pretty rare. Staff can be strict but for good reason the ppl are fun, sound is good,be careful the floor is slanted like a movie theatre! There are three bars and two stage areas usually the main and one set up in the little room with a local dj ...if a more know DJ is playing order your tickets in advance they do sell out a lot of shows enjoy have fun!

Great, intimate venue for concerts! However I was surprised by the lack of security screening when entering the place. There was absolutely none, would certainly make me extra cautious
The bar was okay, typical stuff you'd expect at a metal concert

I absolutely LOVE the Skyway Theatre! Every show that they put on is exceptional, even if it's booked last minute. The Skyway staff is definitely the unsung hero of these shows. They care so much and work super hard to ensure everything flows well and your safety! At the end of the last show I attended everyone was rushing out of the doors and I saw a staff member working as hard as he could to flatten out the rug before someone in the huge crowd fell. I can't even express how awesome these guys are. Go see for yourself!

Staff was organized well and very polite. Venue was clean when we came in, even if very messy before all of the concert goers left. Drinks are basically the same price as any bar. Sound was good as well.
