So fun and exhilarating! I was freaked out of my mind leading up to the dive (had my game face on). Staff was very upbeat, understanding, and courteous. The atmosphere was laid back and relaxed. Casper walked me through the first tandem jump and it was amazing! He encouraged me to do a second jump (for a discount) and it was well worth it. En route to our second tandem, he explained a wealth of technical details about skydiving and trained me to pull the parachute at 7000 ft. Highly recommend a second jump because it was even better than the first, and the first was out of this world!

Celebrated my birthday by jumping and I "dragged" my hubby with me. What better way to celebrate...lol. We did our jump yesterday and it was amazing! We recommend this location to everyone. The staff is very organized. They keep you inform of any weather delays, they interact with you to make you feel at ease & when it came to the jump we felt very confident jumping. Definitely planning on doing a 2nd jump. Shout out to: Marius,Erick & Bo.
Recommendation: Don't think about it to much, Just do it. It is so worth it!! M & J Encarnacion 06/2019
If you are looking for a great place to skydive, check out Skydive Midwest. I did my first tandem jump there in 2010. After two more tandems, I went through the AFF program and got my license. The instructors and other jumpers have been wonderfully helpful and make Skydive Midwest a very welcoming place.
Skydive Midwest is an easy drive up I-94 from northeastern IL. For days when clouds keep jumpers on the ground, there is a sand volleyball court and bean bags.
If you have ever thought skydiving would be fun, visit Skydive Midwest and give it a shot. Be sure to enjoy the view of Milwaukee, Chicago (on clear days), and Lake Michigan.
I went skydiving for the first time on Saturday. From the start, the staff there was awesome! I had an 8:00 appointment and was up in the plane and jumping out around 9:15. My tandem instructor, Rob, and my videographer were great--very knowledgeable, a lot of fun, and super experienced. I'm glad I forked up the extra $100 for the video and photos. I contemplated passing this by, but it's so fun to have the video and photos to share--especially since this is likely a one-time thing for me. Anyway, I highly recommend Midwest Skydiving--great people, a fun experience, and worth the wait! :)
Just went skydiving today for the first time and it was amazing! The staff was super helpful, calming, and friendly! My sister and I both loved our dive partners and got amazing videos and pictures! I would highly recommend this place!
You know, I gotta admit they really got me. I know that this place has alot of good reviews, but when I came here, that wasn't the case. Two hours into waiting for me and my friend to jump, the instructor told us we wouldn't be jumping, and the ladies at the counter denied us our refund. We couldn't understand why. We both had paid when we arrived, and we didn't even jump. I don't want anyone to get ripped off, so if you see any negative reviews for this place, please listen. Because me and my friend didn't. And now we're in the same boat.
We were supposed to go skydiving today, but due to the weather, we were unable to. I understand the facility can t control weather conditions, but I am angry about the way they handled it. We drove 2 1/2 hours to get there. When we showed up we filled out our paper, paid the skydiving fee, and waited about 20-30 mins to do the classroom session. Once we were done with the classroom training we were told there was no chance we would be able to jump today because of the wind, so we could either get a raincheck for another day or wait around the rest of the day to see what happens with the weather. I went skydiving once before and when the weather wasn t good enough to skydive that day, they called a few hours before and rescheduled. This place waits until you show up, pay the rest of what you owe, then sends you home disappointed with a no refund policy. If I didn t already pay them, I would have spent my money at Skydive the Rock, where I went the first time, and everything was handled professionally.
Bought a Groupon for my daughter for her 21st birthday. First time we went out it was too windy and cloudy. Went back today and did not find the wait that bad. There was a lot of people waiting, however there is one plane and only so many people can fit in that plane so really what can you expect. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. If you don't expect to wait then you probably don't want to skydive because it is something that takes time, however we were only there a total of 2 hours which I found very reasonable. It was easy to book with the Groupon and when we went back because of the weather we were taken right away with no problems. Would recommend.
Nice facilities and good pricing, but difficulty scheduling, was not given any eta on how long to expect to wait, and the instructor I was paired with was incredibly rude. Will be travelling to a different place for our next jump.
I came here for a tandem skydive around 2pm on a Tuesday. The receptionist was nice, but booking my appointment was a bit of a hassle. I had scheduled a previous appointment, which was cancelled due to weather (unfortunately, I had to call to ask instead of getting a call).
I arrived at 2pm and didn't jump until after 3:30pm. We got lucky and managed to get on the last plane, right before they closed due to weather. Be prepared for a wait, especially if you're visiting on the weekend.
I jumped with a bald guy (sorry, forgot his name and couldn't find him on the website). I wasn't too nervous about jumping, although I did get a bit uneasy since I had to get another guy to suit me up, and my guy was still strapping his parachute after we had taken off the runway and were in the air.
Jump was a ton of fun. It felt like free-fall for the majority of the jump (30-40 sec, although it felt more like 15-20 sec), so I did feel a bit sick. Total jump is about 4 min from plane to landing, and you do some cool twirling in the air before landing.
Tips: -wear lots of layers if it's cold (probably 15-20 degrees cooler at 14500 feet) -ask for a jumpsuit -be prepared to wait (go weekdays if possible and call before appointment to check weather)
Wish they'd provide helmets for customers or at least some kind of hearing protection as well. It can get extremely loud when free falling and the goggles are quite uncomfortable.
I had an amazing time! My instructor was Brain and my Camera guy was Keith. They made my experience so much fun and everyone really makes you feel safe. I am definitely coming back! Ps. the extreme video/photo package is worth every penny!
Skydiving here was one of the best things I've ever done so far! I went about a month ago for my birthday. The staff are friendly and make the experience fun, exciting, and memorable. Very professional and safety oriented. Matt was my instructor and Justin was my photographer - both did an amazing job! I will definitely be coming back to skydive again. Awesome experience and definitely worth the price!
Skydive Midwest is THE place to skydive! The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and safety oriented. You can tell that they want to help you get the most out of this once-in-a-lifetime experience. Whether you're looking to do your first tandem skydive or your 7000th jump, this is the place for you. Best prices in the business and the best people around. Highly recommend!
This place is awesome! They are very professional and safety-oriented, but they have a really fun time with it and do their best to make sure new jumpers do too. I would recommend Skydive Midwest to new tandem jumpers and experienced jumpers alike, and I'd trust their instructors to take my closest friends and family on their first jumps! Oh, and the view of the lake from the sky here is EPIC!
First time skydiving! Everyone was very welcoming and friendly. My tandem partner (JJ) explained everything every step of the way and was great to jump with. Despite some stubborn clouds in the afternoon, they kept things moving right along and they have a nice hangout area to relax while you wait to jump. I think I found a new favorite hobby! Excellent experience!!
Rarely do I give out 5 stars as it is reserved for the most outstanding experiences. This is absolutely one of those events. Jump with Whitey if you can; he's tons if fun and will do all sorts of spins and twists. The 0 G is by far the best feeling. You are the wind up there. Positively a great experience.
This place is beyond amazing. whether you're doing a first time tandem or you're a sport jumper, you're going to have a great time. Staff are friendly, fun and safe. Everyone from manifest check in to the jump masters are professional and know their stuff. I love jumping here.
I would choose SDMW over and over again! I had the best instructor, JJ who made me feel very comfortable and took the time to show me so many things while we were in the sky. I learned so much from him without any information overload!! 20/10 recomend him. Naomi, the woman who took our pics and video, was amazing too! She s such an infectious spirit, she made me feel like a flying badass!!! You can tell these people REALLY love what they do and that rubs off on you so quickly. I will be returning soon with more friends and family
Life changing incredible! Even if you've never wanted to try it, the crew at Skydive Midwest will help you get a huge shot of adrenaline, all while being the coolest cats imaginable.
I booked the morning of and they had no problems getting me in. I got there and checked in with no problem. I was hesitant about spending $120 to get the pictures and videos but I am SO GLAD that I did. I signed up for 2:30 and my jump was around 5:00. The only change I would make is tell people what they re waiting for. Once I checked in, I was told to take a seat and wait. I didn t know what I was waiting for so I was worried that I missed something or had to do another step on my own. I asked about 20 minutes in and they happily told me what though, so it wasn t a big issue! I also loved that I was able to sit with my guest while I waited to go up. My instructor and the guy doing the video/pictures for me were amazing! They were enthusiastic and super friendly. It was my first jump and they helped walk me through all the steps multiple times so that I felt ready. Definitely recommend coming here and getting the media package! Thanks for a great experience (:
Last time I was there, the instructor and the filmer were very nice people. I had a very enjoyable time and I want to thank everyone who works here. I'll definitely recommend this to everyone I know.
Best Drop Zone in WI. The staff are amazing and whether you're a sport jumper or doing a tandem skydive, they make it a great experience while focusing on safety for all their jumpers.
Radtaztically Awesome place to further enjoy and learn something different. Great group of folks with real Spirit and Passion for the Sport. Definitely recommend to everyone willing and able.
This is such a fun place to skydive! The views are incredible and the people are so friendly and knowledgeable! Give it a try, I guarantee you won't regret it!
My experience was seeing a picture of my granddaughter EVERY step of the way. I was soooo impressed, soooo excited. What a great experience and the staff is also a very big part of it. Wonderful the way it was handled, as if I was there - it took my breath away.
Couldn t have picked a better place to go skydiving! Awesome place with very welcoming, friendly and safe staff. The view of Lake Michigan, Chicago and Milwaukee is tremendous!
I have been there 5 times driving 100 miles but every time they didn t fly saying wind speed was high. My groupon voucher has expired now and they want me to pay more money. Ridiculous It s on the name of Mylavarapu
Very friendly and understanding staff. I jumped tandem and was given an altimeter by my instructor just because. I can't think of a better place for a beginner to go.
Absolutely love jumping at skydive midwest! The views of the lake/Milwaukee/chicago are amazing. The staff here is wonderfully friendly. I can't say enough good things about this place!
Incredible experience! The staff was fun, energetic, playful, but made you feel safe. I tandem jumped with Matt....can't thank him enough. It was the ride of my life! And Kelly caught it all on camera...she was super sweet. Kudos to the whole staff. Keep loving what you do. Oh, and I will be back!
Awesome experience, definitely worth the price. it is probably one of the most amazing and thrilling experiences that you can ever have. I highly recommend it, especially for those Daredevil and adventurous type folk. Anyone can do it, you just gotta jump. Amazing, and super cool staff!
Wow! Staff is very helpful and friendly. Operation is well-organized and runs very smoothly. But the best part is the fun, welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel like part of the family :)
We bumped up for the photo and video capturing. Worth it because I realized I didnt curl like they asked me to... oops... I'm not super flexible but that wasn't the case here, I just got so involved with the jump and excitement my mind went blank. I feel as though I made my tandum instrustor scared for his life... after seeing the photos I realize that I didnt start the best but once the skill of my instructor kicked in we were right were we needed to be. I'd DEFINITELY do it again and again. A shout out to my instructor and camera man. Giving it there all and making my experience one of a kind. P.s. if i ever see my instructor again I'm gonna have to give him a big huge and give him a new pair of pants. Sorry!
I jump at Skydive Milwaukee before so I decided to give Skydive Midwest a chance just because I wanted a different view and because of their proximity to lake Michigan. I put together a group of 9 people (make the math.. a lot of $). I made the appointment months in advance. The day of the jump we arrive around 1:30pm... we ended up jumping at 7pm! Horrible experience. We did enjoy the jump, who wouldn't? but I'm not rating the jump. This company has no respect for the clients.. They don't give you any updates about waiting time or any information so be ready to waste at least 6 hours of waiting and listening loud and bad music while you wait and wait. It looks like they kept taking appointments and overbook themselves. After the jump, the skydiver/instructors had to run to get to the next group of jumpers (made me think of how exhausted they must be of doing this all day. Doesn't look save, that's for sure). Conclusion... Never again. The place on East Troy is smaller but far more professional and respectful of your time.
Nice place, nice people, good service. If you complain about waiting time, do the homework and read description before you will buy jump. They tell you, "prepar for long wait". They are depend from weather.
I'm scared of heights above 6ft, and it was AMAZING!! Wasn't scared at all!! Awesome experience with AMAZING views of Lake Michigan, Chicago and Milwaukee!!!
I bought a skydiving experience as a birthday gift for a friend and it was soooooo worth it. He loved the entire experience, especially the jumping out of a plane part. Great staff and the instructor was easy going and inspired confidence, which is really what you need in this situation. The training takes maybe ten minutes and then you find yourself in an airplane facing something terrifying and thrilling.
AMAZING place to skydive!! SDMW has great staff & talent all wrapped in a chill and welcoming vibe. Their instructors make the first experiences a total blast -- and you'll get the most amazing views of Lake Michigan, Chicago, Milwaukee and everything in between! And they have some of the best talent for fun jumping, across all disciplines, with LOs each weekend and national champions always ready and willing to jump with you for fun, and for learning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
By far the best experience of my life.. staff is super friendly and it didn't take that long to actually jump. I would recommend this place to everybody.
They were really thorough with making sure we had fun there. Get the camera stuff if you want to post or share the experience. Never felt unsafe even though I jumped out of a plane.
Thank you for the AMAZING experience, my fiance and I will for sure be returning! The instructors were amazing, I had Whitey and he kept me laughing and walked me through every step of the way! Thank you again for such a wonderful first skydive!
The experience itself was amazing. Skydiving has always been on my bucket list, and I am glad I did it under experts supervise and landed safely. However, I had to give them 2 stars for both the unpleasant check in experiences and the long wait time.
Unfair treatment: Most of the staff were super nice to us three Asian girls, but that was not the case with Bella, who is a blonde girl with distinct accent. I ordered some food at the entrance right before our group class. Even though I told Bella I would quickly grab my food and come back for the class, she demanded me to get inside the classroom right away because she didn't want to waste others time. That was all fine and understandable. However, as soon as i entered the classroom, Bella asked everyone in the group to wait patiently for another two missing girls, and we ended up waiting for 10 minutes. While we were waiting, she forbid me to get out and get my food, and this totally did not make any sense to me. Another similar situation happened when my friends and I were lining up to check in. When it was our turn, she demanded us to step aside because she wanted to help the two guys behind us first, which totally forfeited the purpose of a line. As a customer I felt very offended because it seems to me this is a practice of either racism/sexism or being extremely mean towards particular customers with no valid reasons. None of which is professional.
Wait time: won't elaborate too much on this one because it was mentioned by a lot of posts earlier. We came in at 11am on Saturday morning and didn't board until 4pm. They kept on telling us it was a super busy day but if you have that long of a check in process, you really need to improve your efficiency.
Beware they charge an additional 3% service charge I m assuming for paying with a credit card. They helped with directions since it was so hard to find but we were a few minutes late and they were not very happy about that even though we came from 3 hours away and still had to wait around for awhile. The skydiving experience itself was great and great view. The service at skydive the rock is better though
I ve jumped around the world, and can promise you the staff, equipment, planes, and service here are top notch. Great place for beginners, and seasoned jumpers alike!
Wish they'd provide helmets for customers or at least some kind of hearing protection as well. It can get extremely loud when free falling and the goggles are quite uncomfortable.
There is no way you can describe to somebody who hasn't done it the rush you get jumping out of a perfectly good working airplane, and then the total silence of floating listlessly down to earth and being able to see for miles...awesome! And Skydive Midwest provides this service with professionalism and expertise. And you gotta buy the video!
I went here for my first jump a couple years ago and loved it, decided to take my best friend along this weekend. Skydiving in and of itself is amazing and to have amazing staff and amazing prices makes it 10 times better. I jumped in New Zealand 10 years ago, and I can honestly say that Skydive Midwest holds my favorite jumps. Thanks to everyone, you guys are dope.
Great for your very first jump or your thousandth! Awesome experience, nice facilities, safety conscience, and excellent aircraft! The management was super accommodating and even sent the plane up on a slow day. Highly would recommend skydiving here.
