Il piatto restaurant was awesome as always. Sand Bar was also good, great cocktails and music. Good vibes and music at the pool. Casino was fun. However the hotel room was disappointing and in desperate need of renovation. The mouldy smell was the most off putting. It was clean ish, the outdoor balcony furniture had food spillage on it and was in need of replacement. For $200 a night I'd say it was unacceptable and I won't be returning to stay.

The infinity pool bar closes too early. If there was more available shade throughout the later hours of the afternoon, a lot more guests would have sat outside by the pool, instead of just the 4-6 small groups who had the 5 large umbrellas to adjust as the sun went lower in the sky.

There would most likely be a decent crowd still outside after 6:30pm, if these changes were made.

Also, $6 for a bottle of soda water, $10 for a vodka sofa and then $20 for a double vodka with soda. 30 mls less soda, 30mls more vodka, and a price difference that makes no sense.

There needs to be a way to order food from any of these restaurants, from the outdoor pool bar. Having to go to each place to order and then go back to get the food isn t a good system.

Balcony area of the Italian place wasn t open. It s pretty much the dry season, the weather is amazing but I cannot sit out on the balcony and eat pizza. As an ex-longterm hospitality worker, this makes no sense. To be fair, the last time we stayed here, Cove was also shut.

New ownership, less services.

For a venue with all it has to offer, there seems to be very little night life here, apart from the odd blues band in Sandbar... for $60.

I m sure casinos are supposed to discount the price of food/drink/entertainment with the insane amount of money going through the gambling machine, eh?

Maybe that s just the US of A, though. Mind you, an American company just bought this place out, last November (2018).

As someone who does not gamble, sitting out in the infinity pool and enjoying drinks all day long is the only thing this place has going for it.

Also, please removed the wire locks that prevent me from walking the shortest way from the lagoon rooms to the infinity pool... that would be ace.

Spent the day here for the Darwin Cup. The staff is professional and the beer was a bit expensive but OK. They have a number of lounges and of course lots of gaming machines. Had a meal at one of the better restaurants and the sunset made the entire day worth it, Easily accessible by public transport by tourists like myself

Great staff, nice friendly atmosphere. Had dinner at the cove restaurant, which provided a nice romantic evening with exceptional food and wine.
If you like Jaffa's try the brulee you won't regret it!

Our family stayed in a Superior Lagoon Room at the Skycity resort for a week, the room was amazing, the double shower, the cosy beds, the back porch and back deck that allowed you to swim straight off your room. The pool was huge, it had a man made beach and a swim up bar that we loved! Plenty of dining options. The staff were great, everything was clean and we were very impressed. Lots of adventures were had outside of the restort but we were always keen to get back to our room for a swim. The best part was having the deck off the back of the room straight into the pool. Thank you, we will return some day.

Really nice hotel ... I would say that it has become very expensive. The casino on the ground floor is perhaps the best in Australia, although it is hard to win anything by now. The self service restaurant deserves.

My wife (Rhonda) and I visited the Casino during the week we stayed in Darwin. One of the ladies who was at casino entrance (far left side as you go in) signed us up as members and every time we went there greeted my wife by her first name and made us feel extremely welcome. She was very helpful and is such an asset to your casino. Unfortunately, we didn't get her name but hopefully you will be able to locate her and give her our thanks.

The hotel, accommodation, food and pools were fabulous. However on booking the accommodation our main requests were good wifi and a gym. Our room 121 was unable to connect to the wifi at all during our stay. I approached reception both in person and by phone at least a dozen times regarding the wifi and that we were unable to connect or call from our phones from the room. On our last night the IT man came to the room and was unable to connect us to any services and did suggest we could move rooms as our room was in a black spot. It was our last evening and we were on our way out so this was not viable. The gym was 'under repair' for our entire stay. We had to pay for taxis into town to use the gym there each day which was expensive and inconvenient. On checkout I reiterated to the manager on duty our disappointment but felt like we were fobbed off really. I used 11 gig of data costing me $110 extra as I run an online business. I felt that we could have been compensated in some way for our inconvenience. I travel to Darwin for work but would be apprehensive booking here again, despite the fabulous location because of these issues.

The lagoon pool made our stay, quiet, swim up bar and plenty of beach chairs. The room refurbishment in the older part of the hotel was very good quality but a little far away from facilities.

Overall I liked the hotel except for two things:
1. The room service was cold when it arrived. It was a $35 steak sandwich, at that price I expected it to be fresh!
2. The room needs light-blocking curtains, the shutters provided don't block out the morning sun, making a sleep-in impossible.

We arrived at the hotel to be advised that we had received a complimentary upgrade from a superior spa room to a one bedroom spa suite. Wow! We were VERY impressed with the accommodation and service from the hotel reception staff and their willingness to assist.

The only reasons that I have not given them 10/10 is that they lost my request for picnic baskets for 2 which was organized a week prior but they came through on the day and also we organised some room service and the trays were still in the room on our departure. While this was a slight issue, it won't stop me staying there and we have actually booked a 3 day stay for our wedding anniversary.

Cant give a casino less than 4 stars.

Cant give a casino less than 4 stars.
Just for the gambling options.
Not much but the two pools for kids though.
They definitely need some shade in the lagoon pool.
Some permanent tables and stools covered by umbrellas would be a killer move there.

Located right on the top end of the top end, sky city was exactly what I needed in Darwin. I had just come off a two week bus tour from Alice Springs up to Darwin and stayed in mixed level accommodation along the way, getting to sky city was like a breath of fresh air.
Located about a five minute can ride from the centre of Darwin, we had booked a room in the lagoon resort section of the resort and it was excellent from the beginning onwards, the rooms were spotless clean and the amenities were fantastic, large comfortable bed, shower and large bath (which I could stretch out in and I'm 6'2") excellent spacious balcony overlooking the lagoon pool and with views of the ocean.

The room service was prompt when ordered and any issues we had, ie the batteries were dead in our TV controller, were fixed right away.
The resort itself has several restaurants, however as we were only here for two nights we chose the Italian and it didn't disappoint.

The casino floor itself is small by comparison to what I am used to from Sydney / Melbourne etc, and the selection of games is a little limited bit you could pass an hour or two in there if you wished.

Breakfast if it's not included in your room package is quite expensive at 29 dollars pp for a buffet, food was of a good standard, however one criticism I would have is after paying the 29 dollars they still expect you to pay for a freshly brewed barista coffee, or use the coffee vending machine instead which tasted terrible, but if that's all I can criticise then it's not doing too bad.

All in all a great way to end my holiday, I'll be back for sure

I have titled my Review Hits and Misses and I will try and explain as I go along why I say this. Very poor experience at reception; card swiped twice by desk and so was locked by bank! Young[er] Concierge was asked what time the Ghan bus came in and was advised between 8.45 and 9 am. It was there at 8.00 am and so we missed the bus and had to pay to go to the station. Chinese restaurant serves very poor quality food - not authentic at all. My Kung Pao Prawns and Pork dishes did not contain any schiuan peppers at all; and it had only 2 dried chillies as it is meant to have a plate full; this in spite of me informing the waitress I like it hot! To pay over $4 for prawn crackers is a rip off; it should be complimentary as in other similar restaurants. Staff in all areas were very pleasant and helpful and obliging. Hotel requires a real refurbishment. The Cove restaurant was pleasant and food well presented and of excellent quality. Wait staff attentive and welcoming.
Maitre 'd of Vue in the morning is also very good;

Great place to stay. Away from the Darwin CBD but close enough if you want a good walk. Rooms were very nice & Air Con even better.
Food was plentiful and really tasty.
Market right next door is fantastic and the sunset on the beach was special.
You won't be disappointed no matter what you want to do. Party or just relax

Overall was very good and I would return. The only thing I would mention would be the breakfast. I think some of the food may have been sitting under the lamps a little long. We got some very hard pancakes along with the hash browns. The coffee machine also took a long time to make a coffee. There was only one person working the pool bar as well, she was doing cocktails, food beers etc. The service while good, was very slow. A little more shade over the pool bar would be great too.

Good pool area,

Good pool area,
Standard assortment of tables,
A lot of people that shouldn't be let in around and in all sorts of usually prohibited dress.

Sports Bar is good for TAB but if you're trying to watch a game or fight I would pick somewhere else because the big wheel countdown and alarm goes off every 15 seconds driving you f#*-ing mad
