food was good the bartender was ok her name was sky she didnt really go out of her way to be to friendly. If she would have visited with me instead of staring at my date it could of been a better experience.

The food is by far the best hidden secret in Flushing. This place is so ridiculously generous on the amount of food they give you. Their burgers are half-pounders and include fries for a very kind price. Do you like fish? Their "All you can eat" Cod is to die for, and they give you homemade clam chowder, french fries, a salad, and coleslaw for only $12.99! We used to go to Buffalo Wild Wings for a nice night out until we tried the wings here... They are easily twice the size, and you get 10 wings for $6. We love their homemade spicy Cherry BBQ sauce, and no, I do not work there and I am not paid to advertise. My husband and I just love their food that much!
1/2lb bacon burger, awesome. It was odd that toasting the bun was .30 extra(weird), the onion rings, and Waffle fries were good, but extra crispy(over cooked). Service was good.
6/5... Skip's is my go-to place. What are we doing tonight? Skip's. Want to watch the Bachelor? Skip's. Man, did you hear what is happening in Washington? Skip's. This place takes all those worries away, I go, have a beer, talk to some people, and all is well Wanna go to Skip's? I'm down like Charlie Brown!!
Disappointing food, lazy and rude service, and ridiculous beer prices. The server/cook got very defensive when I questioned the $6 or $7 glass of Guinness on my check. I should have known something was wrong with this place when my dad and I were the only two customers on a Friday at lunchtime! Very sad to see a Flushing tradition fall so far from its past glory.
Just had a blt & fries and my husband had the half pound burger, excellent food & service, Matt made us feel right at home. Thanks again for a great Sunday afternoon!!
Moved back from Florida, went to Skips, ordered a burger, I have problems with my fingers and asked to have their great burger cut in half, they said that was $2.00 extra, I thought they were kidding, it came in a plastic basket, and a plastic knife. Went in the bathroom and was using the urinal, some guy came out from the toilet with a red hat and walked out, when I went out the only one with a red hat was the cook, I talked to Matt the manager and he said he would talk to him again, and that he probably washed his hands in the kitchen, Sorry I don't know that. This is not the Skip's I remember.
This is the kind of place to come when you visit town and want to have some good food and run into a few people from the past. Their ranch fries are awesome and they have good drinks. Used to come here all the time when I was going to cosmetology school in Flushing. It's never too packed but, always has enough going on it's a fun time!
Normally LOVE this place. Always great food and great service. After tonight, I won't be giving this place another thought for a LONG time. So many people besides myself just walking out because they couldn't get service. We asked to cancel our order after getting ice cold cheesesticks. Waitress ignored us after that anytime we asked to pay for our drinks.
Love this place. It is what it is.. hometown bar. Great food. Inroduce yourself to matt (owner) great guy take care of you make sure you have what you need.. food good little pricey but good.
Even though this is a bar it's a pretty nice place for a drink and chat with friends. The drinks are really cheap and not watered down and the music isn't blaring where you can't hear yourself think. In the past everytime I've ordered here the food has been pretty good too!
Had a great time in here. A great selection of craft beers and a friendly staff made for a great time. We didn't eat here, so, I don't know how the food is.
The food was amazing, but that wasn't anything compared the service. The bartender and the manager were incredibly friendly. This was my first post-COVID dining experience and I couldn't have picked a better place for that.
Good bar food and nice selection of beer. Outside is deceiving. Step inside and you will find a cozy bar/grill. Staff was a lil inattentive if you are not a regular, but overall a decent stop. Improvements? Bathrooms need attention for cleanliness.
I had the walley dinner and it was great! The curly fries were really good and had great flavor, but the regular fries are too thick for me because I like them well done. To each their own. It took a little while to get our food but the server was really nice.
I like to support our local businesses in Flushing, but I'm done with Skips. I called in a Takeout order for dinner for the family. Skips online menu says 10 Wings for .75 cents each. We ordered 30 wings (Total $22.50) only to find out when we went to pick them up, they charge us 1.25 each (37.50). When we asked about the difference, they said their "Online Menu" is not correct and the .75 cent wings are for dine in only. Besides overcharging me $15, they forgot the dipping sauce. Done with Skips!
I ordered a carry out meal for my family after working basically all day. I enjoy the food at skips, but today was straight up garbage. Was told food would be ready by 7, wasn t done until 720. Drive home and have this Mac and cheese with literal burnt cheez it s on it when I ordered Mac and cheese bites. Not only was I told I couldn t get refunded , but I was never offered what I originally wanted. The Mac and cheese bites. I had to call twice just to get them to say they would refund me my money, instead they just wanted to buy me something even though I expressed they wrongfully charged me for something I didn t want.
Been here as well for a night out, and the staff including skip himself are just kind of rude. Not impressed.
The bartender was very personable and attentive. Plenty of local brews on tap and their sandwiches are delicous. We love the atmosphere of this place as it's covered with old pictures and historic memerabilia.
The burgers are possibly the best I've had. And a ton of really good craft beers on tap. You can also catch a game on one of their TV's. We stop here whenever we're in town.
Skips is one place in Flushing I make sure to never 'Skip'. Its juicy burgers and out-of-this-world beers make for a great time. So make sure to check out Skip's Come Back Inn. Where the beer is family.
A far cry from the greatness that Skips once was. Place is deserted half the time not sure how they stay open. Bartenders suck and the prices are too high.
Well the bar tender yelled at part of my group because they were still standing and did not yet sit because they were waiting for two more people ( me and my friend ) the others left just before we got there... because of rude bartender with a hat a beard. Knowing this... the two of us decided to get a drink before we joined our group elsewhere.... we sat at the bar... waiting for eye contact, a head nod or a simple word from rude bartender... NOTHING. Keep in mind its Sunday after 4 pm. There were 2 patrans at the bar and only one table eating. The bartender did not know that the party with us prior to our arrival told us what happened... well... we sat for over 8 minute without acknowledging we were sitting at the bar. We finally decided to leave. We had a total of 11 people who wanted drinks and dinner after a performance we had been to in Flushing.... terrible Dive bar, low class. The bartender cost the owner of the bar slot of money... we all drink alcohol and all wanted a meal. Dont makenthe mistake of trying Skips in Flushing. Also no air conditioning, dirty bar, dirty mirrors and dirty looking rude bartender. None of us will ever be back there and we eat out and drink in towns where performances are.
First time here. Great food. Like the hometown atmosphere. Honestly I would have to say the best burger I've had in a long time. Also free pool with food purchases.
First and last time! Waitress was great, the cooker however. DIDN'T want to be here! Waited over an hour for food, when there's 3 table in the place! Walleye was okay, the cod however was less than van de kampe!
Bartender was drunk and continued pouring himself drinks. Took every opportunity to talk over me and tell me i was wrong about everything. And finally he kept winking at my fiance while giving her shots of absolute charging well prices. Never going back.
Every time I call to place an order they hang up on me. Last time I ordered online through Grubhub they only made 3 items out of the $112 order I had and didn t even call me to see if that was okay or if I still wanted my food. Charged me for it and kept the large tip and then I had to call my bank and dispute the charge with them since they still charged the original amount.
Small bar feel with big bar selection of several great Michigan craft beers. And you can't beat a burger from a small bar like this anywhere. Skips has a few screens for catching the game without the big chain "sports bar" price.
Great food great atmosphere, friendly workers. They also have a very nice selection of craft beer available in house or to take home in growlers. I highly recommend the breakfast burger with curly fries.
Overcooked, overpriced food, tiny portions, long wait time, rude staff... will not be returning. Ordered mozzarella cheese sticks and they cooked them too long so half of them were hollow... burger was dry and flavorless, paid almost $20 for two chicken tender baskets which each had 3 small chicken tenders and the equivalent of a small fry from McDonald's... The only thing that was portioned decently was the Mac n cheese but it was not good... topped with burnt cheese it crackers and the cheese sauce was kind of gummy.
I left a Facebook review and instead of apologizing or looking to correct the issues, the person who responded decided to be rude, further confirming what a terrible place this is!
My husband and I came in for a no fuss beer and burger for our anniversary. Very impressed. Our burgers were the best I've had and everything else was delicious! Kati was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back for a burger when Bre is cooking!
Love this place! I live in Atlanta but grew up in Flushing and this restaurant is on my must visit list. They have great bar food and, even better, a great local craft beer selection. It's a fun, casual environment where you can get hearty food and great beer! I recommend the fried pickles for an appetizer and the olive burger!
The food here was not good! Three little tiny fish pieces that were over cooked and tasted like old grease. Chicken tenders weren't much better. Owner/cook was rude and not wearing a mask. Want to support local but this place was a joke! Will NEVER eat there again! Lost our business.
