Skinny Skis Review

I went in to buy a pair of skis and could not get anyone to help me, so I walked across the street to Teton mountaineering and was met with friendly smiles and knowledgeable staff that set me up with what I was looking for.

High quality products. Amazing service by knowledgable staff. You pay, but you also get lifetime items. Quality is not cheap in the short run, but always the best buy in the long run.

Outstanding customer service! Kasey is incredibly knowledgeable about Boot Fitting and diagnosing boot related problems. Kasey was very thorough and he spent several hours with me -he was very patient. He has depth in experience-has spent many years on the snow and provided us with a lot of local knowledge! I wouldn t go anywhere else. I wish they had a store with a Kasey in Bend Oregon!! Thanks!

Skinny Skis is a Nordic and Outdoor specific shop in the heart of Jackson, Wyoming know by locals and visitors alike as THE place to find Nordic ski equipment, clothing and accessories.

The staff at Skinny Skis will engage with you the moment you walk in the door, but this isn't some "hard sell" tactic. If browsing is your goal, the staff is respectful. If you have a technical question, they know the answer, be it about the best place to seek adventure or the clothing and equipment to help make your time outdoors a success.

What a fantastic experience. My boyfriend needed a smaller size ski boots right before we left for Jackson Hole. While he was able to get his boots he wasn't able to move up his bindings. We stopped in at Teton Mountaineering asking for either the correct bit to move the binding up ourselves or if they could do it. They said it would be TWO days and we're going to charge us. We we're hoping to ski today so decided to try another place. He called up Skinny Skis and they said sure no problem! We brought them in and they did it in less than two minutes. I bought a pair of ski goggles through an auction of theirs, but didn't notice that the auction was pick up in-store only, that was my bad. I live three hours away so it's not exactly easy to pick up in-store for me.

I got in contact with the store and they agreed to ship me the goggles and even paid the shipping. I was quite impressed with the lengths they went to to help a customer they've never even met. Great customer support all around!

Top-notch local ski & gear shop. Beyond the solid selection of alpine touring/nordic ski gear and clothing/footwear, they are active in promoting community education including hosting the annual Avalanche Awareness Night.

When my Salomon skate binding failed within a season, SkinnySkis quickly worked with Salomon to cover it with warranty & get me back out in time for the latest snow dump.

Cool store. Went in for trail running shoes as a couple other shops didn t have my wife s size. She actually liked their selection better than the others. Customer service was great and prices were right on point. Would recommend highly.

Local place. Great service. They welcome dogs, even offering up treats. Good outdoor supplies selection. VERY friendly service without pressure to buy. Funny, I've never actually bought skiing equipment here, but I either go here or one other place first before considering any other source.

Great place to get running/hiking shoes. Had an injury and needed something with better support. Tried various running shoes elsewhere without a great assortment of knowledge. We meet Daniel at SK and he was extremely knowledgeable and patient with my wife and I. Got a great pair of Hokas which are saving my vacation experience.

Disappointed with the service. Was never acknowledged and the employee didnt say one word to me during checkout. The store is small so the selection is pretty minimal. Id like to support local stores more, but wish that I could at least have a more helpful and personal experience.

We came here after a less than stellar experience trying to rent skis from another shop. We were blown away by the selection and quality of the rentals at Skinny Skis, and they were less than half the price of the other place. We were able to get the metal edged skis we were looking for, but they also had skis for groomed tracks. After one shop giving us broken equipment and another not having our sizes, we couldn t believe how nice it was to rent here. The staff were super sweet and knowledgeable, giving us advice on the most beautiful or lesser known trails in the area. We re never going anywhere else!

The staff was really helpful to open the doors for me even the store was closed (was there at 9AM but they opened at 12PM). Therefore I was able to double check if I had the right size. The store itself is big with lot of stuff from Patagonia

Rented cross country skis and snowshoes here. The staff were very helpful with explaining how to use the equipment and recommending good trails in the area.

Good selection of quality merchandise. Good customer service. Got some running shoes for $30 less than the same shoe on amazon! Skinny Skis for the win!

Great place to buy gear or rent cross-country skis (friendlier staff and cheaper than JD High Country on the square!)

If you can - rent cross-country skis and take the car to Grand Teton National Park's parking lot where the road is closed for the winter, beautiful trails!

I wanted to buy a pair of tennis shoes and they didn't want to sell them to me, they just said no, so I wonder why they have them on display, I think it's not good.

Skinny Skis has carved out it's own niche in Jackson. It carries AT and XC gear in the winter and hiking and climbing gear in the summer. Big selection of clothes and a nice selection of sunglasses. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The store has been in business for a long time, so you know they are doing something right.

If you're looking for a cool backpack or jacket I would recommend this place to shop in Jackson Hole. Very cool staff and also a Smith Optics dealer with a great selection to try on.

Super helpful staff. Made renting cross country skis for our trip into Grand Teton National Park a smooth, easy process. Staff seems to be really knowledgeable and willing to help, too. There was a lady interested in buying new skis... They let her rent a pair and said they'd out the price of the rental towards the purchase price. That's plain awesome service!

We live in and play in the surrounding areas around Jackson Hole and the best place to buy all your accessories needed..... Skinny Skiis is the place to get them at. The owners and their staff are top notch, second to none!

There are lots of stores that sell gear in Jackson. The skinny on this one is that it is a lot more than just skinny skis. It is like walking into your favorite sporting goods catalog. Great selection on everything you could want for a ski, hike, bike, paddle and/or backpack excursion into the beautiful Tetons or Yellowstone. And if you are really lucky you might even get to try some of their flashy European-style roller skis. I know I love mine that I got from Scott at Skinny Skis! Perfect for the bike trails!

Great selection and nice store but when I asked if they would price match a bag on amazon for about 13 dollars less the guy behind the register(Pierce) yelled me down and shamed me for not supporting local business in front of the other cashier and customers. A simple sorry we can't price match would have been enough. I was going to buy the bag even if they didn't price match because it was only a few bucks difference but that interaction left such a bad taste I walked out. Take your business elsewhere plenty of other local businesses nearby selling identical gear for the same prices.

I was impressed with the selection in clothing and other hiking necessities at this store. I didn't quite find what I was hoping for but I wish I could have spent more time browsing. The staff was friendly and helpful, and they even recommended a different store when they didn't have what I needed. I'll be popping back in if/when we're in the area again.

Prices are very steep. Lots of name brands and great options for hiking apparel. A small kids selection is available. One of the only kids keen shoe stores available in Jackson.

Extremely friendly staff. Very knowledgeable. And the prices are quite reasonable.
