The Drive:

The Drive:
The journey to the location was a headache because (as usual) there were issues on the M25.

Parking:
Parking instructions are not very clear. I ended up having to ask a staff member if my car was parked in the the correct place.

Summary:
This is not a location which I would rush to re-visit purely due to the journey & parking. My advice to anyone travelling to this location would be ask yourself if you really need to actually visit the site or would a phone call suffice. If they really do have to travel to the site I would suggest getting a train and then a taxi to the site (or ensure that a parking space is reserved). If they really have to drive leave early.

About Skanska UK

Skanska UK: Building for a Better Society

Skanska UK is one of the leading contractors in the United Kingdom, with a reputation for delivering major projects that have transformed the country's infrastructure. From iconic landmarks like The Gherkin to Crossrail, Skanska has been at the forefront of construction and engineering for over 100 years.

But Skanska is more than just a construction company. It is an inclusive and responsible business that is committed to building for a better society. This means not only delivering high-quality projects but also ensuring that they are sustainable, safe, and beneficial to local communities.

At Skanska UK, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We believe that our responsibility goes beyond simply constructing buildings and infrastructure; we must also consider their impact on people and the environment. That's why we have set ambitious targets to reduce our carbon emissions, waste generation, and water consumption.

We are also committed to promoting diversity and inclusion in our workforce. We believe that everyone should have equal opportunities regardless of their background or identity. That's why we have launched several initiatives aimed at increasing diversity in our industry, such as Women into Construction and LGBT+ Allies.

Safety is another top priority at Skanska UK. We recognize that construction can be a hazardous industry if proper precautions are not taken. That's why we have implemented rigorous safety procedures across all our sites to ensure that everyone goes home safely every day.

But it's not just about what happens on site – it's also about how we engage with local communities throughout each project lifecycle. We work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and concerns so that we can deliver projects that benefit everyone involved.

One example of this approach is our work on the A14 Cambridge-to-Huntingdon improvement scheme – one of the largest road projects currently underway in Europe. Throughout this project, we have engaged extensively with local communities through events such as open days, school visits, and community forums.

In addition to major infrastructure projects like A14 Cambridge-to-Huntingdon improvement scheme or The Gherkin tower in London City Center , Skanska UK also delivers smaller-scale schemes across various sectors including healthcare facilities , education buildings , commercial offices , residential developments etc .

Overall , Skanska UK has established itself as an inclusive & responsible contractor which delivers high-quality sustainable solutions while prioritizing safety & community engagement .
