Awesome place! The views were great the people were great service was great. The only negative thing I have to say is that it was so far away from where I live because I'd like to go again

I had planned a Winter Getaway for my husband and I. My goal was to celebrate his 65th Birthday, our 30th year anniversary and just relax and reconnect. Skamania Lodge have us that experience and then some! I found Sasquatch on my scavenger hunt and when I asked my husband how he liked his surprise getaway you see I got two thumbs up and a big smile. Highly recommend Skamania Lodge as a getaway for a day, a weekend, a week... I was ready to move in. Instant calm and serenity on entry and wanted for nothing all weekend. Everything was wonderful! I would give it 20 stars plus if I could. Planning to renew our vows there in 3 years on our actual wedding anniversary.

Had a blast here! You feel at one with the beautiful nature surrounding you. Has so much to do: pool, bike rentals, hiking trails, fitness center, zip lines, live music, and more!

Would definitely come back here!

Looking at the experience overall this is not a place that I could recommend. The view was the highlight of the lodge. The constant train whistles and no curfew on the hot tub disrupted a good night sleep. I enjoy the little things like individual soaps. This wasn't the case here. Pumps are for cheap hotels, not 200 a night establishments. The list is long, in short I will not recommend a stay here.

Beautiful location. I loved the drive and the whole place had a great feel. It's clean and woodsy. Super comfortable and the views are great if you can get one that faces the river. The staff was friendly. They are renovating some rooms to a more modern look that still fits in with the lodge feel. I only noticed when I tried going to the 4th floor for a vending machine. It was blocked off and you would never have guessed it was happening. Totally recommend for a get away.

We had a great weekend stay here. The pool and spa are great, there's even a large hot-tub in the locker room. The outdoor spa is also great, plus you get a nice view down the gorge. We had a couples massage which were awesome. The room was good, quite basic but the view made up for it. Brunch buffet is famous and indulgent, tip- make reservations at the weekend as it's very popular. A few hiking trails are around the golf course which are quite nice, especially to walk off that brunch!

Location Location is the greatest thing about Skamani Lodge. Sitting in the heart of some of the best hikes in the Columbia River Gorge you can t get a better located Lodge. But the rooms still have furniture from 1983 when the Lodge opened. Although retro furniture is in today they could have a yard sale. It s a shame the Lodge hasn t spent money to upgrade the rooms C-.
The Resturant is way overpriced and the menu was terrible. A solid D-. They need to stick to a menu that has some solid offerings.
We went to Mr T s Grill in town for breakfast each day. They had a great breakfast good service at half the price of the Lodge.
If you take your kids for some beginners zip lining it would be fun.
Overall a solid C-

My wife and I decided to take an overnight trip to skamania lodge. The grounds are beautiful and very well taken care of. Even though you are only an hour outside of Portland, you feel like you are miles from civilization! We had a standard room with a fireplace., which was great. Beds were stiff, but fairly comfortable. Pillows were perfect! We were here during an abnormally busy weekend, so we didn't end up eating at the restaurants, but we did order a room service pizza which was really good! The salmon chowder was also good! We did breakfast in Stevenson, which was a quick 5 minute drive. Befire we left, we did the axe throwing activity. Everyone should do this!!! It was so much fun! The gal who was the guide was nice and helpful and helped us have a blast. Throwing 2 at a time was a hoot! Do it for an hour, you won't be disappointed! Overall, this place was great and we'll definitely be back!

I'm giving 5 stars because of the fantastic staff, the nice campus, and general outdoorsy theme. I will say, had it not been for that, I would have graded a bit lower. There is so much potential here and yet I find it quite lacking in many areas. To begin, it is in a remote area. This would be great, if their kitchen kept regular hours. Apparently, management has them close early, at random, and without warning to guests. This was a major turn off. You have your day planned, want to have a late dinner and oops... random schedule change. I was also disappointed with the check in process. Unless you were physically waiting, you wouldn't be able to check in early unless you were present. So, for those of you wanting a tight schedule, this isn't the place for you. To the owners, I would mark this as a warning. I could have chosen to not give 5 stars. You need to improve your management style and focus on staff welfare and customer satisfaction. So, maybe not closing the restaurant early but staffing adequately. It seems that you have a lot of people working, which is good but I think I could have done more with less and made cuts in other locations than your kitchen staffing. Frankly, you can do better as a resort. I will also not be returning in the near future. I haven't written you off, just would rather explore other options in the future. I wasn't "captured" after my visit. I hope this changes in the future as on my next visit, I will be making notes.

Loved our room with our very own fireplace. Food was delicious. The big room with the Christmas tree was cozy as well. The land around the lodge was gorgeous . However, the pool and spa area needs to be more clean and updated. We were looking forward to it but ended up not swimming and were disappointed .

Skamania Lodge is not only a gorgeous hotel with the most amazing backdrop of the Columbia River Gorge the staff and everyone we worked with are awesome! We are from Chicago but wanted to get married in the Pacific Northwest. We visited over 10 locations throughout the Portland and Seattle areas, and the moment we walked into Skamania Lodge we knew it was the place! There are so many different amenities that cater to anyone from children to adults. They have a number of different options for your ceremony, reception, rehearsal dinner, etc. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and it s so nice that there are different restaurant options too! The weekend of the wedding, many of our guests played golf, hiked, went on wine tours, relaxed at the spa, and just hung out either outside on all of the lawn chairs, or inside in the beautiful foyer. Needless to say, they were all happy and constantly tell us how much they loved it there! So much, that one of our friends actually went back and bought land in Skamania County!!
We worked with Talia and Tiffany, and they were absolutely wonderful to work with! The days leading up to the wedding, Tiffany consistently checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and helped us with all of our last minute needs. The wedding turned out beautiful and went off without a hitch! We could not be happier and highly recommend Skamania Lodge!

Didn't stay, but visited for the day. Had lunch in the bar and burgers were delicious! Then had margaritas outside in the back sitting area overlooking the beautiful lake and mountains. Great place to bring friends for the day and enjoy the view! A little pricey, but very worth it!

Everything was nice and looked to be maintained well. The food was good and close to fair price for the type of food and establishment. I was glad to see college football playing while eating. A very nice view for outside lounging too. The view is almost crater lake esque. Next time i go i will zip line and try out the bar, it seems worth the trip.

The closest lodge to Portland. But it never fails to feel like you are far away from the city. Have been coming here since it opened. The best things are the friendliness of the staff and the great, if overpriced, bar food. The new-ish owners seem to be doing a good job, but I noticed some of the chairs in the great room are threadbare and one had a rip. I hope they keep the Lodge's ties to the Forest Service. Definitely a place to go to relax, unwind, and enjoy nature.

Our family visited Skamania Lodge for wife's birthday, it was magnificent!

Absolutely gorgeous surroundings. Delicious food. Great rooms!

They have a great outdoor hot tub for adults, and then an indoor pool and hot tub for families.

Great tennis court, we had no problem using it. They provide everything.

My wife enjoyed a spa session, she gave it 5 stars.

You'll love it!

The lodge is a beautiful place. Great views, good food, nice spa. The pool and all hot tubs are saltwater, one of which is outside and nicely appointed with large stones.

The luxury treehouses are fun, and have some really nice touches; like a deck with a gas fireplace, shared fire pits, walk in shower and really nice bathrobes. But they're not worth the $500 a night price in my mind. The water pressure in the shower is low, the temperature is hard to control, and the parking is tight.

A great place to stay. Over the years it's price goes up and amenities do as well. At a slower pace however. Sunday brunch used to be more value than you could eat. Slowly they're squeezing the feeling of value out of a very high priced meal. The room was great! We booked 2 River view rooms with fireplace and requested they be near each other. Upon entering the rooms we discovered one was a river view fireplace room and the other was not. It took proactivity on our part to have our bill reflect the change they had made. Which was over $100 difference. I love it here, just not the recent changes. Come and experience the beautiful fireplace, luxurious spa and outdoor hot tub. The view is incredible and the brunch is still worth the price.

Picturesque huge LODGE (with ongoing construction to update the 100 yr. old structure) in the Paradise Meadows of Mt. Rainier, Wa. --- a Natl. Park, so entry fee required... the Visitor Center (with Rangers to answer all your questions) is nearby.....Many well-kept trails for you to explore.... Lots of MARMOTS grazing in the hills, by the Waterfalls especially, for you to pass by....

Great and friendly service! The pool and outdoor hot tub are amazing. Also, free coffee and hot chocolate on the first floor. Food was also good. Work out area also solid since it had treadmills and some free weights. Cable package in room seemed limited. Couldn't lower temperature past 65 and one of the locks from room to room was broken. Overall, would stay here again.

I enjoy the warm, inviting spaces of the lodge and the exercise trails. It's a short drive to Stevenson, where you can grab groceries or pick up a bite to eat.

The surrounding beauty of the Columbia River provides an outstanding setting for your next getaway. In-room fireplaces (in select rooms) are a nice, cozy touch.

Masks are required for entry at the time of this writing, and dining options have been impacted, understandably. Similarly, access to the gift shop is being controlled for guest safety.

I would like to see a few more in-room amenities at this price point (complimentary bottled water for the coffee machine would be a nice start--rather than the $7 honor bar Fiji water provided), but staff is friendly and bend over backwards to make your stay a pleasant one.

Beautiful lodge with a great view of the Columbia River. Rooms are updated and nice. Facilities are able to hold multiple conferences at once. There are also a golf course and a zip line course on site.

It was a cool misty day, and I had a hangover, while driving back from an overnight in Hood River, and this place completely cheered me up. Had a wonderful lunch in the bar that overlooked a pretty clearing and the gorge beyond. Excellent, professional service too.

I came and played a round of golf with relatives and really enjoyed the lodge and it's course. The golf course was both fun and very challenging with narrow fairways and several water hazards along the way. The scenery and backdrop to this amazing course is second to none.

Live locally and were given a gift card. I was looking forward to a night off front being in the kitchen. Hugely disappointed. We had the Prime Rib and Pork chop specials of the night. After an extended wait, we received our meal which was not only lacking in flavor but my Pork chop was so dry I had to spit it out in my napkin. Needless to say I didn t finish it. The waitress never asked how it was, could she get us anything else. Paid way too much, even after the gift card, to go home hungry.

We won t be back.

The Skamania lodge is a cabin style hotel with excellent views and great adventure activities all around. The maintenance responses were not effective when it came to toilet issues, but the ability to forgo daily room cleaning was a great drive for the environment. They provide $5 voucher for every night opted out of cleaning.
It was a nice place to have a business conference.

First time visiting and had an absolute blast, all of the staff were super friendly and the hotel was very clean and cozy. We had a couple's massage (by John and Mo) which were fantastic, their technique was on point! We also had lunch in the dining room, which was delicious and the dining room staff were friendly and attentive. Make sure to get the bison burger with bacon and sweet potato fries!

Almost forgot, the view of the gorge is breathtaking, especially from the rocking chair next to the fireplace.
