My husband and I paid over $500.00 for season passes for our family to Ky Kingdom. We went here for date night and arrived at the gate at 8:05 to ride the new roller coaster, I was so excited! The man at the gate told us there is no admittance after 8pm and offered to get his supervisor who was right next to him. The supervisor , Lori, confirmed they would not let us in because it was after 8. The park was still open for 55 minutes! We wanted to sneak away without the kids and ride a few roller coasters. I could not believe it. I am so disappointed that they denied our entrance.

My first day here and I LOVE IT! I did have some slight rain problems, and as such, was pretty much partially closed for an hour, but that was bad planning on my part. Otherwise, if you love fast rotations, do the Storm Chaser. You won't regret it. Like fast steep hills? Do the Lightning Run. It's so much fun. Love wood coasters, but hate the shakiness of it? Thunder Run is for you. Slight shake, but I enjoyed it. I'm gonna do the T3 and that new Kentucky ride tomorrow. Otherwise, the Scream Extreme fooled me. I thought it rotated horizontally, but I was wrong. Way wrong. That thing flew and I was scared. Not that bad however, if you like vertical rides. The only true problem I had was finding a ride, and even then, it wasn't that bad. I'm sure to come again after tomorrow, and I will hopefully enjoy it as much as I do now.

Kentucky Kingdom is a great place for families. It has sufficient "kiddie" rides to keep young children entertained. Additionally, it has area of the water park that is especially family friendly. The wave pool in this area is gentle and the lazy river has a relatively slow current. The park has a variety of other rides (Lightning Run is great!) Moreover, the owner is planning on installing more "thrill" rides. It is a good park that keeps getting better.

I was there on July 31 2015. It was not too busy but getting on the rides took a little too long. Most of the rides only had one ride unit operating. If this is how they operate when it is busy you would never get on a major ride. T3 was down the three times we checked on it. The children's rides looked very nice and they have plenty of them. The water park is very nice for children and adults. I will be bringing my grandchildren here for sure.

There is a second wave pool that is smaller that was great for our seven year old. There are lots of rides and water activities for a variety of ages and abilities. The downsides were the cost of the food (pricey) and the entrance and exit for parking were odd and somewhat challenging to navigate.

The worst experience at an amusement park that I'v...

The worst experience at an amusement park that I've ever had! First , not to there fault there was a power outage that kept the kid area of the water park down for the whole day. We have 4 year old twin grandkids who could not play in that area all day, but the only place they were allowed was the small wave pool. They couldn't ride any of the water slides, the lazy river was also not allowed as well. We have been to lots of water parks and never have we been told that they are too short to ride on a lazy river.
Then in the kiddie area same thing, several of the rides they were not allowed on because of their height. They also couldn't ride on the old fashioned cars. Not drive them, ride them at all.
Seriuosly the final straw was the musical merry go round. They were not allowed to ride by themselves on an individual one due to me (grandma) being the only adult. So we had to ride in the drum. Talk about one furious grandma! Then pulled my phone out to take a picture of the girls, mind you we were sitting in a drum the 3 of us. By the end of the ride security was waiting for us to exit, to remind me that I can't take a picture of my grandkids while on a MERRY GO ROUND!!!
Let me just say I will never return to this amusement park. Thank goodness we got our tickets extremely cheap or I would have asked for my money back.
One dissapointment grandma!

If I could give this a negative 5, I would. My middle school went on a field trip there for our graduation and we had been there for 1 hour when the power went out. The service was awful, I waited 45 minutes in line for pizza only for them to forget to put cheese on it. None of the drink machines or food booths were open. When the power went out a girl at our school was actually injured by an overloading power box. Overall our $50 field trip became a disaster. And the worst part is the did not have enough vouchers for everyone!

Great variety of rides!

Great variety of rides!
Best time of the day to go is an hour or so after it opens... No line at the gate, and short lines at rides.

Kentucky Kingdom is amazing park. The rides are fun and thrilling. The park is clean and the staff is nice and friendly. Most the bad reviews are pointless because they don t get their way there at the park and they want to write a bad review. The rides are safe and no they are not broken. Don t make no sense why people will say that. This place added major new rides every year and they are not done yet. Kentucky Kingdom is the most best independent park around and they sure will make your experience great. Don t listen to the bad reviews! Go and check out the park yourself and see what Kentucky Kingdom has to offer for Louisville!

Very nice park, however lifeguards are unaware what to do when the tornado sirens are going off. We were there on June 23rd and the sirens were going off for over 10 mins, we were in the wave pool and the life guards had no idea what was going on. Then other staff came around and started moving people out. By that time, it was starting to get really bad and people were rushing out. They need to have better idea about what to do and more training as to where to go.

Such an awesome little park and proof that height/size does not matter when it comes to roller coasters. Storm Chaser and Lightning Run pack a bigger punch than most rides over 200 (and even 300) feet tall. I didn t get to experience the water park, but it also seems really fun! An amazing value, especially the out of state deals!!

2019- Fun. Clean, new lounge chairs . Beautiful landscape/gardens. They even have vegan food (Beyond Meat Burger that didn't eat yeat)! Good price. Easy parking lot except when there is Street Rod show in August.
Fun wave pools and now the Kentucky Flyer is one our favorite. The webpage is easy to use and I loved to find out the Kentucky Gardens on the webpage with the name of the plants I was looking for. And now there is an app for it. Snap the plant. Really useful ! I would like to "copy" some gardens ideas!!! Keeping 4 star because some water rides where closed last Sunday!

A lot of fun, but pricey.

A lot of fun, but pricey.
I also wish they had seatbelt extenders such as they did in the past, for my pregnant wife and for other larger people.
Sometimes, being overweight is not their fault and if they fall into the guidelines for the ride, height and weight, they should be able to enjoy it as well .

Our experience at Kentucky kingdom was disappointing. My boyfriend is 6"4 and every single ride that we tried to get on he was too tall for. The harness wouldn't fit around his chest. We tried to speak to someone about getting a refund but apparently they don't do refunds. It was disappointing to spend 85$ only to be able to swim.
