My brother David was a resident 2017-May 2018. They are , in all ways, an extended family . His ALS care was magnificent and the social atmosphere for the ward patients has to be experienced to be believed. Gifted and blessed people make this their lives' work Sticks

I have a friend who was sent there from another facility. She fell at the previous place and broke her lower denture. It was never replaced. She was sent to Sitrin's long term living facility. That was a couple of years ago. Any time I've called to be connected to her building, I've been told she's not a resident and the building I'm asking to be connected to doesn't exist. Yet I visit her there. Because she doesn't have her denture, they grind up all ( I do mean ALL) her food into what looks like baby food. She hates it and doesn't eat much. She's lost a lot of weight too. I wouldn't send anyone there.
Very bad business treat residents like animals and treat employees like dirt ,unfair plus very dirty place Wouldn t let the squirrels in my yard sleep in those rooms wouldn t recommend for family living or employment.
I love working here. Its clean, happy friendly environment. I really believe this place cares about not only the residents but the workers as well. But it sucks driving here in the winter with that hill but if its really bad maintains will drive you up the hill. Very caring nice ppl.
My grandmother has been in the rehab center at Sitrin twice within the year, and it is a great place. They cared for her well and the physical therapy people helped her so much. A month after shattering her hip, she was up and walking. A week after she fell and split her knee to the bone, she was up and walking. My only complaint is that they are unorganized and understaffed. They have left my grandmother in the bathroom for a half hour, they do not come when called upon (the nurse button puts a light on in front of the door that none of the staff members look at). Food is okay, but food staff is always rushing. It's is a very homey feeling, but only for a temporary time. Residents are always bored and sitting in the halls staring off into space, waiting for company. It is great for your loved ones to temporarily heal. There is a building at the bottom of the hill for permanent residents, they could be different. I've never been down there, just reviewing the rehab center.
COVID has given this facility the opportunity to neglect these long term residents. Patients have fallen out of bed and left on the floor. Staff will go to other houses, leaving residents in houses alone for hours. The food isn t fit for a pig. residents will be forgotten about to give regular meals and when they ask why they haven t been fed, staff will tell them they just forgot that they ate . Showers rarely happen. Clothes that are labeled are still given away to other residents.
They one star because you have to give something Believe me they do not even deserve that. So, you probably looked to this place because of their claim to excellence or whatever. So here is my advice. If you want your loved one to be treated like a dollar sign instead of a human, send them here,. If you like to be told by staff when you call to check on them that they are very difficult, that they prefer when your loved one is sleeping, or just plain hang up on you, send them here. If you like the fact that the Drs here will drug your loved one on so many meds that they stop eating, lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks, can barely walk or lift their head, send them here. Last, if you like being lied to by administration, send them here. So that's a summary of what I dealt with in the short time my loved one was there. With all this, I will say that some of the staff was great. I wont name names because I do not want to forget anyone. But some do actually care. Its too bad the other stuff overpowered that Don't send a sewer rat here.
It's gone down hill over the years. If you give your loved ones new cloths remove the tags as the staff will steal and return items. Expect staff to not care about meal preparation recommendations by doctor. Puree everything? The carrots didn't say pureed so I didn't.... Lost hearing aids, clothing, toe guards, anything of value. Don't waste your time filling out the clothing inventory sheets. They are meaningless. Some staff is friendly. Most staff hate there job and it shows. Don't expect the social worker to do her job. She won't fill out paperwork and often gives bad advise when it comes to answering the paperwork. Expect Medicaid and other services to have you correct those answers the social worker gave you. Just waiting on the Masonic Temple to have an opening. So sad since sitting used to be great.
