I had some malware issues a few years ago on my site with Hostgator. When I contacted Hostgator they directly connected me with Sitelock who sold me a protection package for $50 a month.
When I decided to build a new website with a new host I called Hostgator to initiate the transfer of my domain and asked if I need to call Sitelock to cancel their service. I was assured the Sitelock service would be canceled. Everything I had ever done with Sitelock was through Hostgator, however the service was not cancelled and auto billing continued for 2 more months before I caught it. When calling Sitelock directly there were many issues trying to verify my account. Several numbers had been added to the end of my email so I was not receiving any emails and they wanted the last 4 digits of my credit card used in billing, however the one they needed to verify was not the current number they were charging but a number that had been issued a few years ago and not even the initial one used to set up my account. Because I had done everything through Hostgator I had never set up a Sitelock dashboard, and couldn't because of the extra digits added to my email. When the manager checked the dashboard she said I had recently checked a box agreeing to continued service, after the request to cancel and transfer my domain. I could not have done this because I had never logged in or set up a dashboard. The manager eventually decided to credit one month "as a curiosity", like I had done something wrong.
SUMMARY: If you use this company make sure you understand that you are contracting outside of your host even if from beginning to end they make it seem like they are working together.

They called me last year because my bluehost WP site had some malware, they tried to help me scan and clean it, it did not work. I ended up moving my site to another server. One year later they billed me again for services not provided, how can they bill me for a site they have no access to scan or protect? Terrible customer experience, they had two accounts open for my domain and it looks like I only requested to close one account so I was billed again. These guys know that my site was outside of their control and they were not able to service it and they still wont refund me, they charged me $520. Im still trying to get our money back but they wont work with me.

Be careful with this company. I found out that I was being double charged for this service through blue host and through sitelock. My subscription renewed a couple of days ago and I called sitelock to ask for a refund since we are being double charged for this one service. Sitelock would not offer any type of refund eventhough we being double charged for 1 service. I would not suggest using sitelock.

First they call and strong arm me into buying a plan by scaring me. Then 2 years later they will not let me end the plan with any sort of ease. I haven't even been using the website they linked for almost a full year now. I HATE that they make you call for every little thing. I live abroad and can not easily call during there open hours. But they won't email me!

I have had intermittent connectivity issues with my website. I was assured by the host that all was well on their server. I was also assured by SiteLock that this was not an issue that they caused. My webhost offered to change servers to make sure that the issue didn't exist on that particular server. After hours of back and forth we finally got the website up with the SiteLock firewall in place.
Less than a week later my website went down again... I called my host. They confirmed again that all was well and that the issue didn't exist with them. I called SiteLock who said the very same. The tech support person suggested that she disable the SiteLock firewall. If my site came back it would be an issue with the firewall if not it was someone else's fault.
My website came back up!!! This issue was ALL SITELOCK! They claim to prevent so many things. One of them should be connectivity.
I am sorry that I ever got involved with this company.

After a malware attack, I have purchased a 400-dollar package which was promised to removal of existing malware infection and access to team of cybersecurity experts for more complex repairs.
Now after almost 2 months and opening 10 tickets, they still explain me that the website is malware free and off course it isn t. When I visit my website, I see still malware activity out there no matter with which browser or I have cleaned the browser cache or not. I provided them many screenshots but they stand still for WE DON T SEE malware. It is not my problem if you don t see that or not, but the visitors are seeing that. Anyhow after 2 months of wasting my time they say you have purchased it for one year and you cannot cancel it and you won t be refunded.
MOST ANNOYING EXPERIENCE EVER.

The salesperson said that I could delete websites or add sites anytime I wanted. Also said that my program was 1 year and then after 1 year I could choose to keep or cancel. After 1 year they just renew you for another year! No-one calls to go over program. Send in a cancelation and they say that they won't do and call you to verify request, but get any calls!!! They REALLY don't offer a service. THEY RELY ON PARTENERSHIPS WITH Hostgator and alike. READ THE FINE PRINT!!! DON"T BELIEVE THE SALES TEAM

Welcome to the Sitelock Scam. They infect your website with a virus to lock you out, send you an automated email to call them, and then try to upsell you a $500/ year plan. Worst company ever! I'll stop offering their services for safetynames.com immediately!
