Disappointed, beautiful site offering great opportunities but unexploited.expos disappointing!
Disappointed, beautiful site offering great opportunities but unexploited.expos disappointing!
It was not too bad, despite the temporary exhibition which, for me, was not very interesting ... A little disappointed compared to what I knew in previous years
Very worthwhile to visit this interesting site. The exhibition space is very trendy.
Affordable price, really passionate and exciting guide, beautiful restoration of buildings ... A beautiful day in perspective!
Worth the detour. The central courtyard is breathtaking.
Pprachtig voorbeeld van 100% geslaagde duurzame renovatie. Interssante tentoonstellingen.
The place is extraordinary. Recent exhibitions on glass as well as on Greenland. A must see.
It is a place of memory and contemporary art we speak but alas the citizens of the region do not take enough time to know the depth of the birth of its history in the Borinage.
My visit worth visiting, museums were disappointing
Beautiful site. Very well documented bookshop. Friendly and knowledgeable guide. However: brochure unclear and with gaps.
Beautiful as architecture and what an interesting past. Good reception in Dutch.
Good Dutch brochures. To go.
Very interesting. Great remnants of the coal history of Belgium.
Worth a visit
Very beautiful site well preserved well developed, articulation between history and modernity ....
The visit started very well, good reception, precise explanations, care of the visitor well. The perfect site visit, until the moment when I wanted to visit the hay store, then there disaster greeted by a small surly guard, followed by a woman who watches you without any discretion, you feel very very bad comfortable
Too bad for this wonderful site with a nice story
Remarkable site with a diversified museum offer, friendly and enthusiastic staff
Interesting for a walk in the open air or for those interested in the art that is exposed. Only problem. No cafeteria
The best contemporary art museum in Belgium constructed from the ex-coal mine. The site and the museum is an interesting mix from historical point of view, geographical as well as from artistic choice. It's a must for people who are interested into Belgium, history and art.
The visit is very interesting to visit this place is better on Sundays because free entry
Owl museum, interesting exhibitions. Cafeteria a little "cheap" and not quite developed. Staff impeccable reception, cons in the rooms, the guardians.ennes sometimes "baraki" (clothing of some really deplorable, conversations aloud and without embarrassment between guardians, monitoring very intrusive and unfriendly (hello discretion).
Superb place. The staff are very welcoming and friendly.
The Grand Hornu is a former coal mining site. Near Mons, the site has had a facelift and has become a trendy place where contemporary exhibitions follow one after the other. The site also offers a restaurant and rooms for hire for all types of events.
Beautiful site and always interesting exhibitions even confusing
nice gallery, which has had its day but still nice.
The place is beautiful and the reception very kind. The work of Anne Veronica Janssens beautiful and that of Glibert nice to see on the mirrors of bikes.
The works of J Geys require an explanation.
Warm welcome and TB guide. ..suggestion: the off-center position of the GH would require that the expos are a little more "consistent" ... I am ready to talk about it with direction. ..
Reception very good but an impression that I was not there welcome with my young boys. "Guards" followed us during our visit, while being cold and unpleasant. Very good
It is always with great pleasure that we return here on this superb site
Very nice setting ... pity the glass toilet ... we saw the guys kiki urinals .... not top ...
Zeer indrukwekkende site. Mooie tentoonstellingen. Je kan er ook lekker eten en wat drinken. Veel parkeermogelijkheden.
Hello,
The museum site is a former mining estate that was built 200 years ago.
The state of conservation is really exceptional, everything has been renovated perfectly. Everything is clean and done with care.
You can walk there with the family, the possibility of having a picnic outside.
There is a cafeteria and above all a restaurant inside the estate with a terrace and the interior of the restaurant is really beautiful.
Several showroom (very modern).
We like it everywhere.
There is also a souvenir shop where you can buy many books and items that go with the temporary exhibitions.
EXHIBITIONS VERY RELEVANT and POINTUES, Guided tours of quality, very pleasant staff, and possibility of restoration
Superb site where I will visit all the temporary exhibitions. Extraordinary guide. Friendliness humor competence
If you're into industrial archaeology, here's a site that's been proposed for the Unesco World Heritage list.
In a former factory, temporary exhibitions of contemporary art. The place is very well laid out. The exhibits are very beautiful and very interesting. The rooms are magnificent.
An unusual place with very friendly staff to inform you.I highly recommend!
Exceptional site, highlighted by Mr Degorge, this site made the fortune of the owner but also of the region and offered in its time a lot of work.
It is time for the beautiful borrinage region to wake up.
Everywhere around there is only publicity for unemployment ... Borains citizens, another future is possible by working.
This place is beautifully well maintained and the staff are super friendly and answer our questions.
I did not know then that it is very close to my home it is a beautiful place
Beautiful locations, with a limited collection in my view. There was a "coffee corner" with limited hospitality. Neat but the service could not handle the large flow of people. Too bad, a well-functioning hospitality industry ensures that guests stay longer.
Superb place to discover during an exhibition or for a walk.
Nice museum, outside there is a nice place to picnic.I recommend it
Very nice place of contemporary art and local history
I am at your service to provide my tasks at home with the awiph, I applied for you.
thought that this would be like Bokrijk .... totally something else !!!! what a nice surprise!
Superb place. Free entrance to access the interior. Very nice cafeteria with local beers.
Interesting architectural whole. Little enthusiasm.
Superb restoration, but which made him lose his soul, we would forget its mining origins. Excellent maintenance of the park which encourages the walk.
Exceeded price for any exposure.
Imposing complex. Fortunately, however, having had the museum pass museum ... Because 12 euros is really excessive for what you can see. Cm both worth a visit
Hello,
We often like to be "on time". Live and know the most diverse news. Here we are at Macs this Sunday, November 10 On the program of "works" on the "philosophical" theme of the "invisible bee" Something for all tastes. But from there to pass off for art an enormous wooden box simply placed against the wall, a stone sink probably saved from the breakage, placed on the field in the middle of a huge empty room, and other widgets bizarre .......... The guide, certainly very well informed by his training, gives comments in phase with these things that we would pass without looking back. He has a lot of merit and really a lot of imagination to comment on these few rooms in a white, empty decor ............ luckily we spent a pleasant hour at the restaurant next door. Perhaps this is due to my simply basic culture, even insufficient to appreciate. In short, disappointed !!!!
Prachtig gelegen museum. Mooie expos en vaste collectie. Bezoek ook Mons!
The heritage of the Boraine mining memory of many families, a success of European and North African immigration ... a place where we hear the cries of the miners blown away by the wind without the branches of the trees.
A place of peace and contemplation
There are already plenty of pictures of the site. It is indeed a very beautiful place, full of history. Today, it is also a high place of art and design, with temporary exhibitions of very good quality. The Grand Hornu, we come and we come back. I recommend.
Place where two very different museums rub shoulders but with always very interesting exhibitions, the CID (design) and the Mac's (contemporary art)
A little disappointed, arrived at the Mac hoping to visit a museum, it was closed until 28/09/19, too bad. Fortunately I did not make the trip for nothing, I went to visit the magnificent exhibition "When the first arts are expressed" 5 km to Tertre, and finish with a visit to Bam in Mons.
