Yep Got a letter from these people about a Paypal credit account for $218. Never had a Paypal credit account in my life. I did log in to PayPal to check my status, their is none except the payments I make with my debit card. and I don't owe PayPal a thing.
This has been a nightmare. If you have to do any sort of business with these people, make sure you get all the details before you give them any money. I sent money to SIMM Associates to pay a debt, only to have them tell me they no longer had the account and that I would need to call the creditor (Elan Financial Services) directly. So I did, and paid the debt. Now I am being bounced back and forth between these two, trying to get back the original payment made to SIMM. Maybe I'm being obtuse, but I just don't understand what the issue is; I sent them money that I didn't actually owe them, so send it back to me. I should probably hire a lawyer.
I wish I could rate this UNPROFESSIONAL establishment with 0 stars but unfortunately, the system requires at least one in order to post. Some person named Chris Jones called me on my WORK number to discuss recovering my school loans and refused to get off of the phone and move to my cell phone until I had to damn near hang up on him. And then when I sternly noted that he should NEVER EVER call my work number again, he had the audacity to develop and attitude with me! AND THEN, when I calmly told him how I would approach finding out of the loans he was trying to recover was already covered under a repayment program I'd recently started, he wouldn't cooperate! It was UNREAL. If I ever receive another phone call from these people again, especially at my place of work, I'm reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.
Richard Goodell is one of their reps name. He is extremely rude and LIED about having to pay my account through them. I called the company I owe and they said that I can pay it through their website anytime. Whenever they call, call the company you owe first! they will lie to get you to pay through them.
Been dealing with this place for months, never had a problem before and then last week I find out that I apparently overpaid so when I questioned them about this they told me to call them back on monday. I called this morning, they answered but I couldn't speak to the guy who's been handling my situation so the girl told me he would call me back when he was free. He never called me back, I have called 6 times today (all at different times) and still no answer. I have left a message with my number, noone has contacted me. I don't trust these people now, whatever debt you have deal directly with the source because this whole situation is very shady but trust and believe its going to be resolved one way or another. They got the right one, I'm not playing these games its going to get resolved
I have been calling the 800 number no answer and I have emailed no response. Trying to get a debt settled. If everyone is giving you the same reviews it must be problem. Please fix your communication. This is ridiculous. I can't even say not professional because I have not been able to reach anyone to know if they are unprofessional or not. Do Better!
Do not ever give a company your personal information if they will not tell you what the call is regarding. Even if they do tell you what the call is regarding (which this place doesn t) be extremely cautious when giving your info out. This place was rude and when I asked questions, I got yelled at and hung up on.
These people were trying to collect a debt from a deceased family member. They lied, were rude, aggressive, demanding, and threatened to take the house that family was living in for this small debt. After being told who the executor was they continued to try and call other family members and pretend they didn't know who was in charge. They don't note the a count or return calls. The "manager " gave me a number to call her direct. .no such number. Not sure what kind of game they are playing. Can I give them negative stars instead of 1?
Been trying to pay a venmo bill for MONTHS now i go to the website to pay online and the portal wont work. Then i call during designated open call center hours and no one EVER answers so i leave a message. the ONE time someone called me back i answered the phone and no one was on the other line. This is nuts
Very clean and orderly. If you are on the bus, you will have to take 3 buses as, Simms is far away.
SCAM ARTISTS Do not respond to this organization; it is malicious. They seem to be stealing people s identity and banking information. Do not provide them with your information! I received a strange notice in the mail requesting payment of a small amount ($35.98), so I called the number on the notice twice and spoke to two different representatives. Two different representatives asked me for identification, got upset when I asked what the notice is about, and hung up on me when I asked to speak to a manager. My care providers confirmed I have no outstanding balance and that they do not know of this company. The bill is for oxygen services, and I have never been on or caree for anyone who needs oxygen. It seems that their strategy is to focus on the elderly who may not mind paying a measly $35 to settle a debt that they aren t aware of. Unfortunately, paying any amount (such as a small amount) will give them access to your banking/credit information. Red Flags: 1. Hateful representatives who become rude for no reason. No legitimate business behaves in this way because it doesn t typically result in profit. 2. Representatives will not say what it s about or escalate the issue to a manager. 3. I have never used oxygen.
UPDATE i do not have to contact you. I spoke with the company i pay. And I'm perfect standing with proof of payments. So you purchased my information and are soliciting me. By phone and mail. Do not contact my mother or myself again These people have the nerve to call us and send us letters regarding a debt i pay every month with a whole different company. They are a SCAM.
Definitely seems to be a scam. I got a letter in the mail from SIMM Associates about a negative PayPal balance that is purely fictional. I have reported to PayPal and encourage you all to report this as well.
Great managers and a great place to work. They help with all issues I may have and communicate very well. I m proud to be apart of this team.
I keep getting calls on my cell phone for either my ex husband (been divorced for four years) or my son (who is 8 years old) who share the same name. Obviously, there is no reason for a debt collector to be calling my personal cell phone number to reach either of those people. When I tried to return the call, it's nothing but recordings and/or asking me to re-record a message which I never recorded in the first place. These people are scammers - block their #.
The caller ID tells me you work for a debt collector, don't be all coy and tell me just your first name when I ask who's calling, and for sure don't give me attitude about it.
They call me, won't tell me why, want me to give them my information, and when i refuse to give them my private information they hung up on me.... Still no clue why they were calling me in the first place since I've never done business with them.
Trying to payoff a debt! I ve called multiple times ave e-mailed associate s. If you re reading this, please respond with the best way to payoff a debt
Every time I call this number, there is no response. I have to leave a voice message. Are there any real representatives that work?
I called to settle a small Klarna balance. I was referred by a Klarna representative to call Simm although it is written on Klarna's site that it could have been paid directly through them OR Simm. No big deal. I forget the womans name at Simm, but I would like to say she was courteous and respectful throughout the transaction. HOWEVER, there were a couple things that concerned me. When I called, there was 10-15 seconds of a pause after the last ring. I say this because after she said hello, it wasn't relayed to me whether or not the call was being recorded as it should have been. Next, I asked if it was placed on my credit and she assured me it was not. Then I asked if I made a payment, I could receive an email confirmation since they already have my email on file. She said not until the payment cleared. Which is so bizzare to me and In the company's reply, would genuinely like to know why? Paying with a card over the phone, we should have an email or a confirmation number. She said the system would update Monday but it could take longer for funds to be released. Perhaps getting a new system to say you have at least received the payment and it is pending would reassure others that you're a legitimate company. For the record, I have no doubt that you're legitimate. Also would like to note, It beats me if they have ever tried to contact me. I receive a lot of fake numbers with fake names generated but the numbers I see for Simm online do not reflect any calls, missed calls, or voicemail I have. I have never received any emails either. I do receive 'private ' calls frequently but I don't answer them. So not sure how they are contacting people. I just pray It really wasn't placed on my credit as I was told and I receive an email within the upcoming week accepting my 1x payment. I will update my stars if my prayers were answered. UPDATE: I originally gave 2 stars but I checked my account and the payment was received. I will be emailing them now to request a verification letter since the debt was satisfied and it did not appear on my credit. Thank you SIMM!
So this company somehow pulled money out of my bank account! I ve never done business with them! I had to cancel my card and now I have to file a dispute to get my money back!!!
A company that doesn't answer the phone is concerning. I've been calling over 2 weeks. Numerous voicemails left no call backs. I've even emailed people i've seen in the comments. I dont know yall's problem but the address is posted and I'm about to arrive in person!
Extremely rude phone receptionist. I called back 5 times to talk to someone else and she hung up on me every time. What a horrible company practice. If you are calling me about something legitimate I will never know because of the sharron Jackson on the phone
SCAM!!!!! If I could I would rate it 1 star but just received a mail today that my mother-in-law has a $1,635.66 debt in her PAYPAL CREDIT and That it was forwarded to collections. Note: my mother in law doesn t even have a paypal account.
Called asking for someone else. Rude and unorounprofess.
Hell they couldn t even pronounce Delaware correctly...had to say they were by Philadelphia
Poor customer service they threaten you and they call your job and divulge private info. Lady threatened to call the cops on me because it told her not to call back
Called me at 9:00pm, demanding my personal information. Wouldn't tell me why they were calling until I gave my name, date of birth, past 3 addresses, and last four digits of my SSN. I refused to give my SSN and couldn't remember my zip code from 7 years ago, and they refused to tell me why they called. Also they called from a local area code, so they're spoofing numbers.
These associates are very rude and unprofessional. I get it shame on me for forgetting to make a payment but don't talk down on me, not to mention personally attach me. If a company cares about their customers. Use another company to collect the debt. These people are rude and very uneducated. Hope I never get a call from them again.
It has been over a month and nothing got resolved. I ve sent numerous proof of payment & every time I call, they tell me to call back. This Marcus M guy that s supposed to manage my situation is apparently never at his desk . He never even answered any of my emails. Very unprofessional and helpless! Update: I called SIMM Associates again today and spoke to Michelle on the phone. She was quick, clear, and very helpful!! She was able to forward my dispute to Venmo. Now I have to wait 3-5 business days to see if my account has been re-registered. Shout out to Michelle because she definitely helped me feel better about the situation. Giving an extra star, because of her!
ILLEGALLY disclosed my SSN to whoever answered the phone. ILLEGALLY added a PAID debt to my credit report as being unpaid 9 days AFTER it was paid and have not fixed it 3 months after stating they would. Initial and only mention of the debt on my report came 9 days after payment. I am consulting a lawyer at this point.
This place lies about who they are in order to get information on people that owe money...including recently deceased. Crooks!
SIMM has been reported to the BBB due to numerous violations
I paid off a debt from venmo almost a week ago. The money came out of my bank account the day after I called. I am still waiting for the $ to hit my venmo account . Someone told me it would take3 days. Others told me 5. Now I call today and it s 7 days. To make it even better, I wanted an email as proof of payment. Lady said it will take 30 days to get. Makes sense since the money s been gone.
They called my house twice and hung up both times. What a joke.
these people will lie and try to manipulate you to give money to them . they just ran an unauthorized payment and once i dug more i found out how much MISINFORMATION they spew out. If you talk to these people tell them to send your debt somewhere else/ hang up on them/ block them/ very unethical, very rude, very shady...don't deal with them
answer you phones, worst service ever. Learn to do your job. Terrible company. Literally no one at this company has any idea what they are doing.
The lied to my mother, saying I gave them her number.
They never leave a message to state purpose of the calls. They call from multiple phone numbers. I have logged and saved every single time they call (including after hours calls) and not only reporting to BBB, but have contacted my attorney.
Live update. The process to access online payments and accurate debt payments has required over 12 phone calls and multiple emails and two complaints to the better buissness bureau. Because this company constantly gaslights their clients, I ve begin this log for my sanity and to share my experience to all of you. Please keep detailed notes and keep track of where you money is going. When in doubt, make a complaint to the BBB. Good luck everyone. 7/11/2020: After weighing the pro's and con's I've decided to make one yearly payment to this company in exchange for a detailed receipt of the principle paid and interest paid. It was determined that they will NOT provide 1098-E forms, so I will need to gather a receipt and report the findings to the actual credit bureau which I hope I'll only have to do once, this year. Simms was very misleading throughout this entire fact finding mission I've been on. Website seems like a sham. 7/8/2020: Received an e-mail from Jeff stating he tried to call my phone (which my records didn't show) and if it was a good time to connect, which is wasn't. on June 24th I requested to make an appoint for July 8th, which he never responded to and simply messaged me asking if I was available on the day, which I wasn't. 7/9/2020: Jeff Simendinger offered to call me, which he never did. He sent an e-mail asking me to attempt an online payment again, which I did and which was declined. Still unable to make online payments. Also, today is the first day I'm asking if they supply 10989-E forms for my student loan debt 6/27/2020: I made at least 3 phone calls and still unable to make payments online. Jeff Simendinger is promising to set up an appointment with me to grant me online access. It sTentatively planned for July 8 or 9th. I explained I worked 3rd shift as a respiratory therapist and I don t wake up until 4pm. I had a few broken promises by other Representatives, Dakota Dirocco quit responding and possibly leaked my personal information to a family member & Dawn Rocco failed to supply the payment plan and actual monthly payments due. Second complaint was placed with the Better Business Bureau after I found out that they possibly lied during the first complaint (they told the bureau my debt was going to return to the original lender, CollegeAve, which never happened). 6/12/2020: Jeff responded and finally supplied receipts for payments. I m still unable to access the portal website, but I am able to pay bills on SIMM Associate website. I m still locked out from making payments. I recommended being diligent and keeping records. I ll update when I m able to make payments again. 6/10/2020 UPDATED: Contacted Jeff from email response. Will update if problem becomes resolved. Fingers Crossed Hello SIMM Associates Community. I also have a debt with this Simms Associates and find their conduct to be dubious and sketchy. Historically I have paid all my debts and maintained a 800 credit score before becoming ill and being unable to work. While I am still in the process of repaying my debt to Simm and Associates from COLLEGEAVE Student loans, I am also writing a letter to my local congress person to share the negative experiences I've had with this company. If you have any experiences you'd like to share with me, please e-mail me at geax.pink@gmail.com or Face2thewind@outlook.com. They are just personal emails so please don't send anything you wouldn't want to get out. Thank you, I wish you all good luck when dealing with SIMM Associates, AND Take Detailed Notes with every phone call.
Simm Associates are very rude individuals. I will pay my money directly to whom I owe and not you scammers. These days there are many scammers out here so don t call me if you can t give out your Information as well.
Rude woman who was totally unsympathetic about the loss of a family member. She should not be in a position that deals with people. Would give zero stars if I could!
Received a call from a lady who barely spoke english. Not sure where they are doing business out of but its not locally
No one is going to LIKE debt collectors. Of course they want their money.. I m actually glad they had a website that I could easily choose my payment terms and set up auto pay. HOWEVER... after making an automatic payment term for one of my account, my payment card got declined (I try to keep money in my savings and totally forgot when they were gonna take it), ever since then it will NOT let me redo payment terms and make a payment arrangement on their site for that account. And I will add that the other account payment was declined 2 or 3 times over the course of me paying it off and I never had the issue I m having now with my second account. I was always able to go back, choose a term length/payment option and redo automatic payments easily. I ve contacted their company about the glitch on the site for that account several times over the course of a couple months. All I get back are generic replies, one even told me to log in! (I was already duh!). One told me to try logging in through phone Authentication, it let me but would not let me pay. Told me I had to log in to my account by email since I had an account already, done that and it still won t let me pay!!! All it does is have a loading circle on the site until it times out and logs me out. I ve even sent them pictures and a video of it doing that. They still won t get anyone to fix my account. But hey! They were okay with me sending my debit card info through email which I rejected (I offered it but then decided not to have they were so eager for me to send it that way). I do not like talking on the phone , especially to debt collectors. That s why I liked the simplicity of the website! I also cannot hear very good on my phone. Please get someone to look at my account!! I only owe like $60!
they called me yesterday while i was at work but i had a moment so i answered, and they said nothing so i hung up. they did it again today while i was at work and they said nothing so i hung up. so i blocked their number, i googled their number and seen many people are marking this caller as unsafe. so i called with a different number and a lady answered and all she kept saying was "HOW CAN I HELP YOU?!?" i asked her who this was "HOW CAN I HELP YOU?!?" what company is this? "SIMM ASSOCIATES HOW CAN I HELP YOU?!?" i cant understand you who is this? "SIMM ASSOCIATES HOW CAN I HELP YOU?!?" if i am asking the questions i already helping myself and you are already helping me by answering the questions. you dont need to keep yelling and saying "HOW CAN I HELP YOU?!?" and seems like the owner of this company responds to all the negative reviews by saying sorry this happened to you, we strive to be the best yada yada yada. you can start by hiring a more polite and patient staff. because most of your reviews are about rude staff. stop explaining apologizing and making excuses. just do it. your wasting your time responding to all your complaints but not putting your effort in to the right place. and stop calling and saying nothing. what a waste of time for your caller, me and you. I blocked you so its resolved for everyone
Someone called asking if I was so and so, and I'm not. So they asked me if I know so and so, which I do not. So they said, "Okay, thank you. Call may be monitored or recorded. Bye." And no, it may absolutely not. The legal precedent behind using that very line is that you are verbally establishing consent at the beginning of the call, and if the caller does not consent to the conditions of that call, they have the opportunity to terminate that call. You can't just disclaim at the end of the call that it may be recorded. It may not. We didn't establish the verbal contract that the call continuing was dependent upon me consenting to these terms. I DO NOT CONSENT. I solely own the rights to my own voice and likeness, and I need for the recording of my voice (my property) that you captured without my consent deleted from your server immediately. You also need to delete my number, as I am clearly not the one you're trying to reach. Edit: I gave you the opportunity to take this seriously, and you routed me to your main (collections) number. Now I'm ready to waste time and money over this. I'm filling a complaint with the FCC, I'm filling a complaint with the BBB and I'm contacting my attorney. I do not have a debt with you (check and see!), I will not be harassed and you do not have my consent to record me. Full stop. I have rights, and you don't get to infringe upon them because you're in the business of collecting debts.
Called on 01/22/20 ? 1220 and spoke to someone who is very gentle. Wish to remember his name but the answer was quick and the conversation went smooth. He was also very honest. Please management find out this person's and thank him on my behalf. However, my problem is with BT medical supply and my insurance which I do not have any clue why they did not pay for the SVN. The BT medical supply on the other hand should be force to close as they have lousy people who do not even answer a single call.
Complete fraud I will be suing this company and taking legal action, reporting to the district attorney and BBB.
Very rude. They called and unfortunately they have been reaching out and contacting the wrong email which is where they have been sending the bill apparently... obviously I and neither my husband have that email and the woman told me I was lying and that we HAVE been receiving it at that email, no and the email address they have is no where near what the correct email is, even on the website it shows an incorrect phone number. Its harrassment and completely belittling that they tell you that your lying. I have been trying to make a payment online and settle this account AND their site will not let me, instead only make payments not pay the total settled amount, on top of that I have emailed NUMEROUS times about this account only to get a response sometimes 2 weeks later. This phone call back at the beginning of the summer was completely out of the blue, we didn't even know this was out there and to be talked to so rudely was mind blowing.
AWFUL people. Unwilling to be worked with, demanding, rude and condescending
Lisa Bonner keeps calling my place of business. Refused to tell me the reason for calling. Before you respond with "That is illegal to divulge the reason for calling", please note that it is ILLEGAL TO NOT give the reason for calling, and what the matter is in regard to. When asking to send a direct letter, I was told no. This associate was way out of line, unprofessional, and rude. I looked for your customer feed back portal, and it is non-existent.
Vince Melon keeps calling and harassing me, I asked that he contact me in writing and began to verbally attack me. Very Unprofessional will be contacting the AG office as well the BBB to file a formal complaint.
SCAM!!! STAY AWAY FROM THEM, DON'T TRUST THEM, DON'T TALK TO THEM. SCAM!!! THEY'RE TRYING TO PREY ON THE WEEK. THEY SENT MY PARENTS A LETTER TRYING TO GAIN FUNDS. WHAT A JOKE, ALL OF MY LOANS ARE UP TO DATE!
I'll pay my bills through credit karma thank you very much..
I tried to pay off my account in full and the took the payment twice the day after they were supposed to causing me to go overdrawn and it has taken over a week to get them to put the money back in my account. Trying to get them to compensate me for the overdraft fees I was charged.
This is the worst place to work. The people are very unprofessional, unproductive, and have a street mentality. This place should be banned. The owners are goal driven not people friendly, which make the place feel isolated, cold, and depressing environment. I wouldn't suggest this place of employment to my worst enemy. This place is garbage!!!
The woman who called me was extremely rude. I asked a question and she just screamed at me that she told me already. Y'all need to train your staff. Terrible company
Fun place to work. Attainable goals and uncapped bonuses.
Very unprofessional. They harass you with phone calls. I told them I had no idea I had debt in the first place and wanted to file a dispute. Roman (the agent) then continued to have attitude with me and say "you said something about a dispute? Then what would that be huh?" And continued to yell over the phone I kept saying I'm not arguing with you and he just got louder. I then hung up. These people are a joke. Do not go through them. They make threats saying they will put refuse to pay (which is illegal) and etc. When told to stop calling me and I'll contact my lawyer he got pissed and continued to threaten. If they contact you don't tell them anything. Get the info on the debt you supposedly owe and contact the original company that you have debt with directly.
RUDE. They just called me about some money that I owe a credit card company, which I told them would be paid by next month. Their little associate was rude enough to hang up the phone all of a sudden. I called back and asked for the supervisor and her employee id #, The lady who answered was hesitant to give me a supervisor, when I asked her how to spell the previous associate I was speaking to she said she "didnt know". ARE YOU KIDDING ME, so your 'system' shows you the name but not how to spell it? Cmon. Absolutely unprofessional and incompetent. ALSO, the lady wanted me to give her my debit card information & a date by when i'll pay my debt. When I told her the date, I didn't want to give her my card information you can sense in her tone she was upset. I'm not giving you my card so you can automatically charge me an unauthorized charge. Train your employees better.
I have been attempting to deal with this company for a month. After almost daily calls to SIMM Associates, and after speaking with multiple "account specialists", I am no closer to answers or a resolution. I have asked to speak with the Manager, Stephen Iiori. I have been told repeatedly that he was either "out of the office", "away from his desk", or "would return my call before the end of the day". The last time I asked I was told to stop asking because it was never going to happen. I've requested documentation, but have only received excuses or refusals. The one letter I have received includes incorrect information. Their violations of the FDCPA are too numerous to mention in detail on this post. In short, during the initial call, despite having conveyed to the company representative that I was a third-party he released (without the original consumers' permission/authorization) all debt information, mischaracterized/falsified immediate (administrative and judicial) judgments and/or actions related to the account, negotiated a settlement amount, and then accepted payment from the unauthorized third-party. If this company calls you, do NOT speak to them; use written communication only! The way they deal with people and the fact their phone number is a local number on caller ID? For me, it all adds up to, at it's best, unprofessional and unethical
So is this place a scam ???? I just paid my debt off to this agency and now I m getting sued by who I was suppose to pay my debt too & now they not answering the phone
I had a rocky start with this company, but then once I found a representative that would listen (Jennette Smith) it turned out great.... Until now. My loan is paid and I was told to call 10 days after my payment to get a release of debt letter. I have left 4 messages and have been on hold for 15 minutes (Spoke with Sarah that transferred me to Holly, that transferred me to Julie, who never got on the call) at this point and still not spoken to anyone regarding this. At the beginning of the year, I got a new debit card. Better believe when that months payment declined (because I forgot to call them with the new number) not only did they call me, but they called my mother at her job to see if she would make the payment! They didn't even give me a chance to call them back before doing so. I guess they are johnny on the spot when it comes to getting their money, but now that my repayment is over they can't bother to call back.
My experience with some of the associates in working out debt was cordial. But when I called to confirm some information. I got the operator and (Shannon) she was fast talking, impatient and not cooperative. She also hung up phone when asked to speak with supervisor. I asked for his or her name and she stated the supervisors name fast. I had to ask her not to be rude and ask for supervisors name I asked to speak with supervisor David Becker and she stated he was not available. I asked to be transferred to his voicemail she hung up on me. I called back and asked for David Becker voicemail and Shannon attempted to give me voicemail. I waited on hold for a minute or two and Shannon answered the line again and told me with a file number she could not get a manager. I did not have file number and I explained the managers request was due to the fact the call was about her. John Egan
This is a debt collection agency. Do not give them any money or commit to giving them any money . Go to an attorney!
Absolutely AWFUL. Since COVID-19 started I have been out of work and do not qualify for unemployment benefits. I told them that when they just called and the woman says haha everyone gets unemployment, how much can we set up today? Are you kidding me?! *Since the business decided to reply - pull all of your calls because apparently you didn t listen to mine. The caller laughed and was beyond unprofessional other wise I wouldn t have left such a bad review*
I HAVE NO IDEA WHO THESE PEOPLE EVEN ARE ! Never have I ever given them my debit/credit card information and today I saw my account had a 155 charge. HAVE NO IDEA WHO THEY ARE NEVER HAVE I HEVER SPOKEN TO ANYONE FROM THEM ETC! So I definitely am disputing it! On top of that I tried calling SEVERAL TIMES! Cannot get through to anyone! Someone needs to explain to me how they even got my damn information! Because we have a HUGE PROBLEM!
This company attempted to fraudulently collect on one of my student loans. After I was contacted by SIMM I called the actual servicer of my student loan who advised SIMM had no authority to collect payment for my loan and should not have any of my loan or personal information. I then called SIMM to question them about how they got my information. The SIMM representative became very defensive, mumbled something unintelligible, and then hung up on me. I have filed complaints with my state AG and the FTC. I recommend you do the same if contacted by this company.
received a phone call looking for information on a deceased friend, they lied saying that they were his probate lawyers, looking for information on his family and asking personal information on me while not letting me know anything about them. i refused any sort of information over the phone and told them to fax or mail it. when i looked further into this i found out that they are bill collects and just lied all along. glad i did not give them any info. they wanted all info on me to take my name off there list, i refused, told them i was friend not family and had no dealings with his estate and to stop contacting me
They are spam callers. I get calls from this number all the time yet I have ZERO - ($0) DEBT. I don't owe anyone money yet this calls me EVERYDAY
I called because the kept leaving messages, they asked me to verify my address and date of birth but seeming as how I never heard of the company or had any affiliations with them I didn t feel comfortable so I asked if they could hold on while I looked up the company and I asked what type of company they were etc and the guy on the phone was a complete jerk and hung up on me. I would not deal with them ever. So rude.
They stated I owed a utility bill payment from an apartment I lived in almost a year ago. They were useless when it came to the details. They even claimed to have sent me two letters before calling and basically called me a liar when I told them i had recived nothing. They offered no proof and threatened to damage my credit if I did not pay immediately.
Got a call from this organization asking to speak to abc person. ( I will not disclose name) I asked who is calling? Well it s this company! I told them I have power of attorney! Asked for address, last four, etc. every question he asked I told him that is how scam starts!! Told the person 4-5 times. Finally said a...h! Don t fall for it people
I had a message from them claiming to be a company. I have no idea if this is a scam or not. Maybe someone is pretending to be them? But they claimed I have debt to pay. I dont even own a bank account. Beware.
Unfortunately I can't rate only a half star.. Let's go back to September 2014. I received a letter from SIMM Associates stating that my student loan had been turned over to them. Very confused, I immediately called my student loan company. The representative was very reassuring that my loan was still with my student loan company and that it had not been sent to collections. He told me not to pay SIMM Associates anything. Phone call to SIMM: a representative told me my student loan company must not have been notified yet that it was turned over (FIRST red flag: how did the company that supposedly gave my loan away not know they did this?) A representative from SIMM made tons of calls to my mother, brother and I demanding payment. Months later and MANY more red flags, my brother called and told them that he knew this was a scam and that we would not be paying them a penny. Never heard from them again. How strange. DO NOT pay this company a cent before checking with your original loan company to verify whether or not SIMM is in charge of payment collection. They got ahold of the records of my recently deceased father and used the information to try and collect from myself and my grieving family. Absolutely disgusting.
Very rude! I told the associate that called me that I wasn t willing to verify any personal information over the phone. Due to the fact that anyone can get my address offline, I m not comfortable giving out ANY information over the phone. I ve had my identity stole before! This man got rude said well I documented that it s you and you picked up and hung up in my face. Still have no idea why they called but I won t be solving anything with a company whose associates that handle matters of any sort this way.
Scam. As soon as I asked for a letter regarding what they were calling me about the calls stopped and the letter never came.
Very rude phone calls. Rachel White specifically I have been dealing with for 3 months. Very rude from the beginning with tone. There is a right and a wrong way to speak to people Rachel lacks those skills. I will give 2 stars only because management was quick to respond when I complained. However overall not professional service provided, considering its involvement with financial services. Poor selection of associates Hyundai
Never deal with this company directly. If you get calls from them, check to see if you are late on a loan or payment (i.e Student Loans, Credit Card, hospital bills) and CALL THE ACTUAL COMPANY - DO NOT DEAL WITH SIMM. They often call about AES student loans, and will often call friends and family not on the loan (like in my case, when I kept receiving phone calls for an acquaintance's loan). If you google this company, which is a semi-valid debt collection agency, you will read several reports, blogs and BBB reviews which explain that this company uses tactics of harassment, intimidation and dishonesty when attempting to collect a debt. Many attorneys have websites dedicated to dealing with this very company. It also appears that they do not communicate with the company that sends the debt for action, so they will not be aware if the debt currently exists when they call. They also do not follow rules (calling outside of business hours, harassing friends and family members and calling your place of business). This is an extremely unprofessional and dishonest company. NEVER DEAL WITH THEM DIRECTLY.
Company has been calling me for months with various local numbers belonging to other people. These practices are called Caller ID spoofing which is Illegal. Company claimed these numbers are purchased by them and the actions are common practice. Numbers used belong to other people, a simple Google search along with calling the number back reveals this. Simm Associates is a fraudulent "company" that harasses people with fake local numbers and never leaves a message. I found out who was caller ID spoofing because they left a message once after several months of harassment, several times a day. I have left complains with the BBB, FTC and CFPB. Any company that calls people using fake phone numbers needs to be shut down. On 9/24/2018 company response to my CFPB complaint stated my "account" would be closed and would not receive any more calls from company due to complaint, as of writing this, 9/26/2018 I am still getting hit with random local numbers, so the company obviously lied.
This firm called me in an attempted to locate a very distant relative through marriage. The caller lied saying my name was given as a reference by the consumer. About an hour later, I pursued them by phone and they disconnected my call and played several "pass the call"games on the phone. They actually said my phone was listed as a "work" number which created even more confusion. By the way, I thought collection agencies were not allowed to call work numbers? On my third call, I was transferred to a manager's voice mail and I left a message. The fourth time I called I used a secondary number and someone else answered. Finally a manager was put on the phone who basically said he wasn't allowed to disclose any information including how they came across my information, but he would take my number out of their system as it related to this individual. He never understood that his workers initiated this ball of confusion with their phone call to me. He hid behind protecting the privacy of the consumer whom they were trying to contact....If you really want to protect people, how about not calling me from whatever "compliant database" you claim you are using. I told him I was filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. I suggest that anyone else looking at this site because of some incident with SIMM Assoc.should also file a complaint.
