SigmaPro Engineering and Manufacturing is an average company. Their products are decent, but nothing extraordinary. I have had some issues with their customer service, as they can be slow to respond. Overall, I would say they are just okay.

I make the following review not to hurt Sigma Pro, but so that Sigma Pro can find people who are a better match for the company. Full Disclosure, my employment was terminated by Sigma pro, but I promise the reader that I will only be stating the facts. Prior to the hire I had quit my job to work for them. From beginning to end, the hiring process lasted a week. I was contacted on a monday about my first interview, and was hired and working for them the following monday. When I arrived I was greeted by friendly HR personnel and a welcoming boss (the same man who hired me). My first day I tried my best to build a rapport with my fellow coworkers. I guaged the company culture from my interactions with my coworkers/peers. Jokes involving direct insubordination ("no I'm not doing that") to superiors, and comments such as "that's racist" to imply ulterior motive to an innocuous comment (you always look like you're planning something= you look like a terrorist because of your beard and dark skin), as well as joking commands to treat someone poorly ("don't be nice to him" or "we don't talk to him"), were common, and were frequently heard. In the men's bathroom there was a sign about bathroom policy above a female product depository and on it someone had written in pencil, "[please dispose of female products in the depository] and you should probably know that you are in the men's bathroom". Under this someone else had replied, "it's 2018, I can be what I want". Taking these observations into account my attempts to build comraderie with my coworkers included jokes of my own. They were what is typically called "riffing" and usually involved exagerrated statements about someones appearance, how somone pronounced a word (there were many hispanics, I was one of them), or someone's taste in food. Everytime I attempted this type of humor it was always in a group, usually with men, and always involved a back and forth at the end of which everyone directly involved would chuckle. On my second day of employment I continued learning and training, hearing the same comments as before and giving them in return, and I was really starting to enjoy my job and had high expectations for my future at the company. However, at the end of the second day I was called for a meeting with my boss and the head of HR, where they handed me my termination notice. Without raising my voice, I asked them how I had violated their company standard for conduct and they replied that I had made comments that prompted an HR complaint. They claimed that 3 people filed a complaint within the span of less than 2 workdays. I asked them why no one had given me a warning about my behavior, and they said that the company does not believe it is productive to teach it's employees how to behave professionally. When I asked them what comments I had made to earn a termination, the only example they gave me was when I said, "Dude, chicago pizza sucks. New York pizza is way better". They refused to tell me any other statements that I had made. I expressed to them my dissapointment with their decision and tried to explain why I disagreed with it, and I was told that my reaction during this very interview was continued evidence of the issue at hand. I got my stuff and was walked out. TLDR: Walk on eggshells until you know who to trust, and avoid any joking ctitiques or friendly banter of any kind. If you cannot then look for other employment. God Bless.
