Service was horrible. The server was indifferent to our party, which is a shame considering the restaurant bills itself as fine dining. View is great, but I would rather go to subway and take my sub to the pier to eat. Live music was very intrusive and our party were unable to talk to each other without yelling.

I came here for the celiac friendly food. In particular, I wanted to have calamari again (it's been ages). I also ordered halibut fish and chips. I enjoyed the food and would recommend it.

Note. The GF batter was tasty, but filling due to the absorption of the cooking oils. Don't order too much.

Surprise to find this pub has some of the best gluten free options I have seen. Beer battered gluten free fish and chips, some of the best burgers I have had to date, great staff and great venu. Beautiful view in a picturesque town. I will be back.

The laughable part about this restaurant is, the last time we ate here, it was just as bad, but we had forgotten. The food is what we would expect to find in a small town diner, without any competitors near by. The cook definitely has no experience which explains why I recommend, fire the cook and find a chef, keep the view and help the waitstaff understand no gratuities because of the food. As we scouted for another restaurant, all had Friday evening line-ups, so I believe the locals know what's up at this place.

Don t waste your time and money. I am not one to be critical and I used to be a waitress.. and I have never in my life experienced terrible and rude service like I did here. Not even worth explaining. My family and friends are never returning.

Was going to go in but someone from the kitchen staff was standing directly outside the front door on the sidewalk smoking and my wifes fetus is really picky about brand when it comes to second hand smoke.

Been here a few times. Last time was Valentine's day. Our dinners were very good but I did feel bad for the couples on either side of us as we overheard they had run out of several of the fixed menu dishes.
My daughter and boyfriend were going to go here for dinner tomorrow night but I told them to go somewhere else as I was told by a friend who was here last week that they are automatically adding a 20% gratuity to your bill.
We will not patronize any restaurant that does this! IT IS WRONG! It takes away the customer's right to choose and frankly this practice should be illegal ( it probably is)
It is based on nothing but greed and in this vulnerable economic climate they should definitely rethink this practice.
Goodbye Beacon landing. We won't be back unless we here this practice has been changed.

Have been eating here frequently for several years. The staff is always great and the atmosphere relaxing and there have always been menu items that we could enjoy. Lately, however, we have noticed the quality of food has gone down and the prices have gone up. Yesterday finished me for this place for a while. Ordered crab and shrimp cakes. Very nicely presented but very little taste or texture of either shrimp or crab. Asked what the filler was and was told ..panko crumbs. Far too much filler giving a very pasty and bland texture. I realize crab is pricy and filler is needed, but some evidence of the ingredient mentioned on the menu would be nice. We were also surprised that to add a side of protein to your salad now costs up to $12. This amount plus the original cost of the dish plus tax and tip would make a $30 salad ...for lunch!

I had the best salmon burger here I have ever eaten!!! The server suggested adding pepper bacon to the sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. Very nice server, great food and a beautiful view of the water. I would highly recommend Beacon Landing Reataurant!!

Lovely view from the patio, yummy fries, pleasant waitress, the worst calamari and ceasar salad ever! My husband, chef of 30 years was told nothing was wrong with the food and too bad... we ate it....however we only ate it because we waited 40 minutes and we were hungry and had an appointment and ferry to catch. Also one of us threw up. We should be compensated. This is unacceptable.

Went to their website to check the menu before going as I am Vegan. The website advertised that they were vegan friendly. However, the vegan friendly options they offered for lunch/brunch was avocado on toast literally just avocado on toast for $16 and a salad with barely any ingredients because obviously being vegan means I'm a rabbit . I didn't want to leave because my husband is not vegan or vegetarian and we already made the effort to dine there being the website advertised vegan friendly which it is not. So, I had fries for lunch which was good hence the one stars and not one star review for misleading advertising. I totally understand a restaurant has NO obligation to cater to vegetarians or vegans but don't claim to be vegan friendly when you don't have ANY vegan dishes on the menu only lack luster modifications on regular menu items. Also, service was painfully slow.

Had the tuna melt sandwich today and it was the worst I ve ever had.Raw tuna soaked in bread and cheese over it what a horrible idea. I told the waitress and she argued and didn t care.No wonder why this place is dead. On the other hand the fries and salad were good

So we decided to go and grab a drink and an snack and wanted to sit on a patio. We decided on going to the Beacon Landing! Well seated on the patio a family came in roughly eight people. They came in about 10 minutes after we arrived Looked like a mom and dad and their six children. Who didn t like the spot they were put at so decided they wanted to take up two tables instead. Fine by us, but the fact that the older woman who worked there decided to come out bypass us and go and take their drink order instead even though we d been seated for about 10 minutes We promptly got up and walked out! Not sure with that kind of service that is or how the hell you stay in business! That s great customer service. We will never ever be back to your establishment! We walked a little further over to the pier and was seated, promptly served and treated amazingly by the staff!

Live nearby and like to occasionally stop by for a glass of wine and an order to go...staff is great, setting nice although quite dated. Sadly, won t be going back. I ve complained in the past about the take home but it is still unacceptable. Burger tonight undercooked, salad was tragic. You ve got some competition in the neighbourhood....you ve got to step it up or you re going to lose a lot of business.

Disappointing experience not only in service but also in the food quality. The hostess in front said no reservations, first come first serve, but failed to mention children could only be seated on the back patio and that there was a separate "first come first serve" waiting line for that patio as well. When we inquired about staple menu items like poutine, they said they were out, so they clearly didn't prepare for the holiday weekend. And, to top things off the hostess and waitstaff were flustered and rude to incoming guests. Two groups behind us asked us all to band together and urge them to take names and force them to regulate the wait list. Needless to say, we left and went to Haro's next door where we were received by a courteous staff and an opportunity to be put on a wait list. Haro's delivered despite the craziness of the holiday weekend, so we'll be frequenting their establishment from now on. We also encouraged anyone we met along the way to do the same.

4 uncut wings came to the table. $16 for 4 deep fried wings seasoned with salt and pepper! Not worth the price at all.

One of the best and most consistent Restaurants in Sidney with a fabulous view, great water-view patio in the summertime. Super food, reasonable prices and a fabulous staff. We often recommend it to our clients!

Beacon Landing is a Sidney staple and has nice views of the water and pier. However, although charming, it s getting a little dated in there and could probably use some sprucing. Service was excellent and attentive but the prices are also quite steep for what you get. We ordered a large clam chowder and it was a very small bowl that disappeared rather quickly. The order of fries however was humongous so we filled up on those instead.

TLDR; Poor service, overpriced for what you're getting, small portions and bland food.

Recently went out for food with the girlfriend, decided on a local place and this was the choice. It was a bit slower in the restaurant, servers were sitting on their phone and took a couple minutes to notice us to seat, and even longer for menus to be brought while servers were on their phones at the computer station.

I bought the halibut and chips, one piece plus a portion of fries smaller than the halibut (which was small) was around $19 if I'm not mistaken,
The girlfriend got a chicken sandwich which came out with soggy bread.

I normally don't complain about poor service but I felt I should leave a reply to sway a couple or someone looking for a bite to eat.

Wish I could give negative stars, never will visit this restaurant again.

The hamburger paddy was done perfectly with just a hint/tint of pink. The paddy stayed together, the catsup appeared homemade, a kinda puree. The bacon had a smoky bacon flavor, similar to the gourmet double smoked bacon (not that plastic packaged stuff, they call bacon these days). The cheese was nicely melted over the paddy. Tomato and lettuce fresh. The bun was soft and didn't turn into a soggy mess . The pickle rounding out the whole thing. All in all, a good burger

Always an enjoyable expirence here. They are very accommodating of any allergy or preference. They have many gluten free options which actually taste amazing, as well as gluten free desserts. The staff are always happy and inviting, as well as they make sure you have the best expirence. Miguel is a chef here and has come out to the table to make sure my food is exactly how I want it, or to ensure my allergy expectations are met. He informed me on every gluten free option on the menu and told me which foods to stay away from, not to mention they have a completely separate section/fryer for their gluten free items. I highly recommend you try this beautiful waterfront restaurant if you haven t already.

Given the struggle many restaurants are going through at this time I was surprised to find a very casual attitude to encouraging new business at this restaurant. The waitress seemed as if she started 10 minutes ago and ignored our drinks request while they sat on the bar counter for 10 minutes Until the bar man brought them over himself. The burgers were OK, nothing special. The salads were disappointingly bland.
If you want a very run-of-the-mill pub lunch with a limited choice of beers and wine, this may be the place for you. If I had to find something good to say, the location is perfect and the hostess was very warm and welcoming.

Ordered the one piece halibut for $20 bucks. I could only manage to eat half of it. It did not resemble halibut in the least. It was more black than white fish and mushy. I mentioned this to the waitress, who did absolutely nothing about it. She sent another girl over with our bill. Left no tip. Very disappointed.

The worst place I've ever been ... I went in for my wife and I to have a nice dinner ... The waiter who never gave his name was very rude in every aspect ... I would never eat there if this is the hired help ... You need trust and compromise with your waiter ... When asked to speak to the manager he laughed and crossed his arms against the wall like i was nothing to him .. I get that there are bad days but there is a trouble tree... I suggest not going there .. I crossed the street to Haro's which i had a pleasant experience!!

It is wonderful to see you have reopened. The best view of the waterfront restaurants. While there may be some reopening problems, we were very disappointed in our dinner the other night. The catch of the day, fish and chips wasn't one I would recommend. There is a lot of competition for seafood and I believe you will have to upgrade to match what others offer. My partner had one of your salads, one she has had a number of times in the past. The salad did not have apple, which we were advised as they were not available, but the quantity was certainly not meal size. Our server was terrific and she did let the kitchen know of our disappointment and they provided another bowl of salad.

Looking for breakfast while in Sidney. A little concerned with the 3 Star review showing on Google search but it was very cold out so we ducked into The Beacon Landing to give it a try. Regrettably the rating is pretty accurate if not high. Place is dirty and worn out. It really seems like just a low end bar that decided to open in the morning - you get the visual. Service was slow and the breakfast was meh, at best. The only redeeming quality was the attitude of the girls serving our group. They were quite friendly and up beat. It's a shame as they have one of the best locations in Sidney - amazing waterfront view. This place could be so much more.

After checking out 2 other restraunts in Sidney that were severely lacking in observing covid-19 protocols, we walked into Beacon Landing to find a check in station with a masked young lady who asked me to sign in and take a sanitized menu. We choose to sit inside (it was a little chilly for my wife) the tables were well spaced inside and on the patio, the masked servers were pleasant and kept their distance the food was good and view beautiful as always. Good job Beacon Landing!
As for the unmasked over crowded Rumrunner & Surly Mermaid I for one will never eat at either one. If you want to recover start take this seriously before we get shut down again.

GLUTEN FREE !!! Most items are either gluten free or can be made gluten free. Anyone that is or is with someone who is Celiac knows that this is very hard to find.
We Frequently go here & Everything is amazing. We live by western speedway and it is well worth the drive every time. My better half is Celaic and this place makes our Pub Dates very enjoyable . Miguel came to our table last time and asked about the food and what we thought of everything - you can tell someone takes a lot of pride in their business when they are looking for feedback in person. Highly reccomend giving them a try wether it s with some buddies for a beer or taking the family out .
