Unfortunate experience, unbelievable how slow they were. They "worked" on our house for 3 months after an oak fell through our roof and forced us in to an apt. In that time they ripped shingles off and Demo'd our bathroom. That was it! I checked in 2 x a week and always had the carrot dangled in front of us that they'd be starting the next week. Finally rid ourselves of their services and we were back in our house in 2 weeks with a new contractor. Was an absolute awful experience when we were in vital need of their work and attention. Had a buddy unkowingly use Showcase and he had a similar experience.SLOW/Inattentive! Not a business you should trust for disaster rehab. UPDATE: So the owner responded to my review stating I had never done business with them. I used Showcase from JUN 15-SEP 15. Contract signed and all. Showcase design and build and Showcase restoration side by side on Yadkin in the same office space=same/same. Feel free to reply and let me know how you are two separate businesses who just so happen to be collocated in the same building and i'll change my review. Still remember this being an incredibly awful experience with Showcase when I needed to get my family back in our home. Your clearly the same business under a different name with same ownership, surely the same management, and same workers. Change my mind!

If I could give a lower rating than one star, I would. After six months in our house, the work that was promised to be finished upon moving in is still unfinished. I have set up multiple dates for getting the work done and they have cancelled multiple times. A week ago they finally came and ripped our doorframe apart only to discover they had ordered the wrong door so we have huge gaping holes around the master bedroom door. The brick backsplash in the kitchen is still only partially finished, the tile in the shower has not been fixed as they said they would do and the water runs out onto the bathroom floor. Doors hang incorrectly and have not been fixed. Please reconsider using Showcase for your home. We are so disappointed. We were hopeful that work would get done when the superintendent was fired, but the replacement is full of promises that don't materialize. I would love to change this review if Showcase would have the integrity to finish our house as it should be.

After careful consideration we choose to go with Showcase to build our home. From the very beginning to the very last detail they were always there to answer any questions and concerns that we had. They did a amazing job getting us everything that we wanted. We truly love our new home and could not have chosen a better company to build our dream home.

For some reason it won't let me change my screenname. That being said, a family member of mine has been using their services for their home and they're experience has been an overwhelming awful experience. Showcase Design & Build has been "building" my family members home for 2 years now...so let that sink in potential customers. Showcase Design & Build is quick to take your money from the bank, and slow to do everything else...and OUT of CODE...I mean what builder puts a bathroom faucet 2 inches from an electrical source with constant power, let alone a plethora of other builder mishaps such as covering outlets with shelving, dumping concrete down the bathroom shower drain, etc...I wish I could legally post photos of all the mishaps that my family member has had to deal with and how "Slow as Molasses in a Winter Storm" Showcase Design & Build has been to address hardly anything. The builder refuses to communicate with my family member and their work has been so bad that local inspectors refuse to issue permits until all of the issues are addressed by Showcase.

Moving to the Ft Bragg area in 2007, we bought a new home that was built by Showcase. In 2010 we decided to buy another home that was more custom, and would fulfill our dreams of the perfect home. We sat down and decided what we wanted, and Showcase fulfilled every expectation. Everyone comments on how beautiful our home is, and I have to thank Showcase Design and Build for giving us the home of our dreams! I would recommend them to build a home without any reservations.

Thank you Mike Etowski, and everyone at Showcase Design and Build.

I had one of your drivers driving very aggressive, blocking me out of lanes, speeding, and cutting people off causing them to slam on their brakes! Your workers must have horrible values and no pride in the company they work for because when they're driving the work trucks they sure do slander the company name through their actions. Whoever was driving truck 98 on highway 295 at about 6pm on Friday the 31st of march 2017 should not have rights to drive your vehicles because he is a dangerous driver and is going to cause an accident or worse a death. I had my one year old daughter in the car with me today and that selfish man trying to get home to drink beer or whatever he was trying to do could've taken her life. Your company is disgraceful

I ve had this review ready to post for quite some time, but we typically only leave reviews if they are positive. This review is obviously not. So why did we decide to post it? Because the builder refuses to answer texts, phone calls, or emails. The only person who will talk to us is the accountant and she has to refer us right back to Mike and Alex. They don t even acknowledge us. The attached photos show the condition they left the home in. We wanted to hold out and force them to fix these problems before moving in, but their finish date at the beginning of August was pushed back to late August, then early September ("at the very latest"), then late September, then finally October. We had to pay for multiple loan extensions and the bank finally forced us to sign or we would have to apply for a new loan at a higher rate. So we signed with the assurance that all of the problems would be fixed right away.
Referring to the photos:
Paint scraped off of walls.
Grout sealer smeared all over the black stone tiles on the shower floor.
Kitchen sink not the one we ordered and installed backwards and on top of the granite.
Broken crown molding.
Unpainted walls.
They lost the control switch for the fireplace and installed a light switch on the stone.
Door to the outside that doesn t close all the way.
Shower threshold that slopes OUT of the shower instead of into the shower so all the water runs out onto the floor.
Multiple doors that are misaligned so they don t latch or stay closed (so they obviously don t lock either).
Gaps in the wood flooring and smeared glue.
Cabinet doors rub and the paint on the corners has already rubbed off.
Many right angles not even close to square.
Brick backsplash not complete.

Bathroom light fixtures hangs off the wall.
Nearly every door frame has a huge gap between the frame and the floor.
Door frames are not square (or vertical) and many hinges are stripped out.
Gaps around wall plates.
Insufficient depth of cabinet for standard dishwasher.

I get that these things happen , but what I don t get is a company that ignores the customer who just spent several hundred thousand dollars on their product.
Which brings me to another point. They (Alex at least) lies at every conversation.
We agreed on a beveled concrete front porch step and he put in a non-beveled brick front porch step. He says the light fixture parts haven t arrived so we call the showroom ourselves to get the status and oh guess what fixture parts are already there. We tell him he s got the wrong sink and it won t fit and he glues it in anyway and acts like he didn t know it was the wrong sink.
When the well cover was being built Mike came by and saw there weren t enough shingles and said he would go get some more. Never happened. Guy comes to finish the roof and not enough shingles, so he has to come back another time.
It goes on and on. When you buy a custom built home you assume the quality and workmanship will be better than a spec home. We only wish we had a spec home where there were standards that were adhered too and the builders knew what they were doing and cared to do it the right way. It has been a miserable heartache and we wish we had never bought from them. If you are considering buying a house from Showcase, please reconsider. If you have already begun the building process, get everything in writing. They will not hesitate to lie to you. Any communication that is not in writing didn t happen, and anything they didn t actually sign is worthless. We had an addendum that our realtor assured us would guarantee completion of all of these problems. She said she had four witnesses that Mike had agreed to it, but when it came down to it, Mike never signed the addendum and refuses to honor it. We have spent every weekend for the past 3 months fixing things that should have been done right in the first place. And oh BTW no rain gutters. Pics say it all

Don't use them. showcase is building a house down the road from us it's been over a year and a half .Because they are taking so long the floor boards have to be removed their rotted. Buyer Beware! Our neighborhood looks a mess. I can't imagine what the home owner's are going through if you can call it a home more like a mold infested shell after a year and a half. Come see it Russell St ,Sanford, north Carolina it's at the dead end believe me you can't miss it.

On 5/13/2019 our business received a call requesting a 10 ton load of fill dirt to be delivered to a project for Showcase. The next day we delivered the load of fill dirt, as requested. The following day Jason from Showcase called and said "1/2 of the load of dirt was missing". We reassured him that the full 10-ton load that he requested was deliver to his project. Obviously they had no intention on paying for the first load they ordered or any load that they would need to complete their project. Avoid working with this business at all cost.
