Shogun's of Fayetteville Review

Went here for my birthday April 1st my parents payed a lot of money to eat there and we had a lot of to go boxes. No one offered and we left without any yum yum sauce which we all love to eat with are hibachi. Well I went in today April 2nd and told the lady I was in the night before for my birthday and we forgot to grab yum yum sauce. She proceeded to give an attitude for no reason as I was very nice. She said no you have to pay for it too much people and I said okay and she goes so are you gonna pay for it and I said no and walked out. My dad then called and asked to speak to a manager and this same lady was yelling at him and would not let him speak to a manager or allow him to explain why we want yum yum sauce for free because we spend over $100 on dinner the night before.My family used to love this place but with this incident I don't think we will be back to spend our money here again. Don't forget to grab yum yum sauce with your to go order or you'll get yelled at and have to pay for it you come back.

Not the worst sushi ever, but pretty close. Had the yellow tail and tuna sashimi and the crazy Philly roll, with seaweed salad, miso soup and the Japanese spring roll. The miso and spring roll tasted like they were bought at Costco. The tuna was actually ok, but the yellow tail was inedible, and tasted old. The smoked salmon in the Philly roll was also old, and had become too salty from sitting in its own juices. We tried to be polite and just pay up and leave, but the waitress insisted on bringing the manager out. The manager then argued with us about the food! Ridiculous! The hibachi was good, and Hong was great, but honestly Miyabi on Skibo is so much better in general I can't imagine ever going to Shogun again. Don't waste your time or money.

The chef was good but took a long time to get to our group. People that came after us were served before us so it took a long time for them to begin cooking our food. The food was good and reasonably priced. The service was good outside of the previously mentioned complaint.

Horrible service!!!!! Didn t get to taste the food, due to waiting over an hour for service!!

Way better than the myabis on skiibo Rd. Staff was fun and attentive food delicious and overall a very pleasant experience. I had the chicken and shrimp hibachi lunch.

I went with a bunch of soldiers that have never been to a place like this. Watching their faces throughout the experience was very worth it.

The sushi was actually very good but the customer service and hibachi experience was mediocre...If we return it will only be to satisfy a sushi craving!

Great place to eat, menu pricing is alright. Some furniture needs to be replaced because its wore out such as the seating in the entrance. Other than that, food is good, Hibachi cooks are great and everything is kept clean. Bar looked inviting.

Best Sushi and Hibachi in the area. Incredible food and the owners and staff are stellar!!! I've been here 20+ times and never had a bad meal.

The atmosphere and overall vibe is spot on at Shogun. Staff is accommodating and friendly. The portion sizes were really big and the food was great. Will return.

Best sushi in all of Fayetteville, and its beautifully designed. Service is fast and waiters are very nice. The spicy salmon and tuna are my favorite.

Steak and sushi are pretty good. I can't say I would recommend the ramen bowl, no abundance of flavor, not too many cool ingredients for a fun mouth feel. So a maybe for steak, elsewhere if you are a ramen head.

Love love this place...slightly higher but anything i have tried is awesome their scallops are to die for...salmon steak chicken shrimp yym

The food is delicious and made in a timely fasion. The online ordering makes it easy for you to order without having a paper menu in front of you and the staff there have a professional and friendly attitued.

There was my second and my last! time when I attended this kind of restaurant . My first visit to Shogun was in Columbus, Georgia. It was even worse. So, I completely dissatisfied again! about my order. There is nothing good and nothing will help to safe reputation of this restaurant even if its friendly waitress is smiling to you on all her 32 teeth. The main thing when you attend the restaurant is the tasty dish, you can even close you eyes on bad service, for example, if the food is really really tasty. In my situation, I was hopping to get my dish like it should be in Japanese cuisine, because I like Japanese dishes. But! The soup wasn t tasty at all, it was just a very strange liquid by taste and form, plus! - the chief forgot to include one ingredient (according to their menu)! I regret one thing that I did not insist on my own and did not require a smaller price for a dish! Well! I'll leave them the right to blush with shame! And I m not recommend that restaurant for anybody! Macdonald s! You rule the world!

Bad experience was too busy fighting off flies during my meal first and last time I go here...and I would rate the food 3/5

Some of the best sushi in thees Fayetteville area. It is in a very unassuming strip mall, but the quality of the food and service is very high. The prices are reasonable for sushi. We tend to only eat sushi when we go, but we have had hibachi once here and enjoyed that too. The chefs are very entertaining and there is always enough food for leftovers!

Not a big sushi place but good potions on menu. They have a some good staff as well. 3 stars because I only ate there once.

Just watched a respectful group of 5 FSU students get racially profiled by the manager of this establishment. They were charged a group gratuity even though the group rate on the menu stated "6 or more." The manager explained the "new menu" that nobody at our grill saw was now 5 or more. My guess is the "new menu" was probably for 5 young men the manager felt wouldn't leave a tip, and clearly this "new menu" put their waitress in an awkward position since she didn't know the policy changed.

We have been eating here for years, but my family of 5 will no longer visit this establishment. Might have just been a few bucks on each of their bills, but the principle of it was wrong, and to each and every one of their credits not a single one of these guys stepped out of character even though they would have every right to.

My husband and I always have a pleasant experience here... We've never really had a long wait and sushi comes out rather quickly... Food is very good

We came to Shogun tonight for a hibachi dinner. It was an amazing experience and I look forward to returning. Our server was polite and very professional. The chef, JoJo was amazing. Not only was he extremely friendly and entertaining, he cooked our food to perfection. The food, especially the steak, was far better than anything we expected. Definitely a great night out and if you are looking for a great hibachi experience, check this place out.

This is by far the best Hibachi/Sushi restaraunt in Fayetteville. The cleanliness, quality, presentation, and above all the taste is outstanding. After trying all the others in Fayetteville, this is my kids favorite, and definitely mine too.

Fayetteville can be a little *eh* sometimes, but this is one of my happy places in town. Of the, probably, hundreds of times I ve dined here, I have no complaints.

Great food and value. The ginger dressing here is great! Good lunch eats for sure.

Where do I begin...we asked for Sangria and I am positive that someone took 30 minutes to put some house wine in a glass with ice and some orange juice With one orange slice and charged $7.50 for that. That was one of the most disappointing things about the evening. We waited so long for our cook that a table next to us was sat and finished before our cook made it to the table. By the time he got there he was the most entertainment we had seen and really enjoyed him. Our server was another story. She took our orders and then did not remember what anyone ordered, even though it was written down. I never got the water I ordered and she brought Tea to the table that no one ordered and left the extra tea on the table. She was very rushed but then didn t offer explanation about our wait. It was to the point we realized she was just ready to leave and at that point so were we. Customer service starts with the customer. If you behave as if you don t want to be there neither will your customers. We didn t even bother asking for anything else. The bill came to $50 and We are waking up to stomach pains and I m positive it was something we ate! Not worth the trip or the bill.

It was okay. The tempura bento box was alright but I should've just gotten sushi. And the teriyaki chicken was mediocre. Not very flavorful, which makes the large portion redundant. What good is take home leftovers if it tastes bland? I would not return for the price. But the tree in front and the decor was wonderful! Still doesn't change the food taste...

Absolutely the best steakhouse to visit. We got about 6x a year. Their food is always perfect and the salads are great! Hibachi chefs are a hit or miss in terms of engaging...but we go for the food!

Had a great time. Food was so good, and way too much for one meal. Chef was amazing. Sat with others we didn't know and really had fun. Will definitely go back.

I always order to go. Last time I ordered my steak medium rare and it came medium well. I decided to order rare this time and they made it medium. This place is way to expensive to keep messing up steak.

Just awesome place for lunch and dinner. Amazing lunch with sashimi and altogether ate about 7 kinds of fish. Escola, tuna, and salmon were fresh and amazing. Excellent value and professional presentation.

One of the best hibachi spots in the Fay if not the best. They are very quick at serving the food. And thr portions are huge. I love the drinks the decor everything. Lots of flavor in the food!

Most favorite sushi in all of Fayetteville. Have tried nearly all the rolls and all very good. They really take their time to make it perfect for you. Favorite roll is Beauty and the Beast hands down. Now you can order online which is awesomeee!! Oh, and the Scorpion Bowl is definitely worth trying if you have a driver. lol

This place sucks. Two meals came. Third meal 35 min late. Then it showed up cold. Oh so sorry I give you 4 dollar discount - wow. Bad waitress that hid once we asked them to redo the meal. Don't waste your money with these clowns.
