The outdoor river-front dining area looked beautiful! Unfortunately, our reserved spot out there was given to someone else even though we were on time. We were disappointed, but we understand that mistakes happen. While we were waiting for a table to be set up inside, one of the employees rudely and repeatedly said excuse me because a few of us were unknowingly in her way. This same lady, who served us during the meal, was not hospitable throughout. After waiting for our food for an hour and a half, my aunt got up to find out what was going on. Though there were very few people in the restaurant, the manager told her that were were not the only customers they were serving. After an hour and a half? Really? Our food, when it finally did come, was ok. After eating, our dirty plates were in front of us for probably 20min. When we asked if maybe they could move them, they literally told us that there was no room in the kitchen for them. If that was even true, At that point, all of the other tables were open. The plates couldn't have been placed there? I honestly don't know if I ever have been treated so badly as a guest in a restaurant. Location: great. Food: ok. Service: horrific.

If I could give a lower number I would. We waited at least 20 minutes just to be waited on.the waitress did not seem to care.We ordered right then as we didn t want to wait longer.After waiting 45 minutes we asked about our dinners and were told they were busy.We asked again at 1 hour and were told our food was behind several other orders.We asked how much longer and she didn t know.At that point I saw food being brought to tables for people who were not there when we ordered and we left.I would not recommend this restaurant.

They have 10 items on their menu and ONLY have ONE available to serve!!!!!!! Who ever does their inventory must be smoking crack!

Very good fish had 1 beer batter & 1breaded. Best coleslaw we have had. Beer nice and cold.

Food=average
Service=below average
Location=slightly above average
Bottom line, there's better options out there. Try Dockside in North Tonawanda.

Sunday night's outside are the best! Check out the live music!

This place is a hidden gem. Where the canal meets tonawada creek. Have been there by boat and car.

Had wonderful time, great atmosphere on back porches, 45th class reunion!

Ordered filet off the special menu thinking it must be good. Ordered medium it was served ultra rare and tasted absolutely terrible even after they re cooked it. It also seemed like they re cooked it in a microwave. Took 3 bites and left. D- very disappointing meal.

What a hidden gem. Great scenery. Family owned. Check it out.

Great place off the beaten path, so to speak. We got there about fifteen minutes before the kitchen closed and the owner kept it open for us so that we could eat dinner. The back patio is absolutely gorgeous with all the plants, little fountain/pond, and then of course the canal itself. The waitress was super friendly, the food was even better, and the beer was nice and cold! The owner even asked us how all our food was afterwards. We certainly will be back.

We stopped in for a bite to eat while out snowmobiling and we watched a great football game, had an awesome burger and fries, staff was great, the owner ?? let us stay to watch the end of the game and overtime because they close early on Sunday we will be stopping in more often !!

I'm there for monthly meetings, every time I ordered food there I had to wait for my meal so March linger than others that came after me and ordered after me. I no longer order food when I go to the meetings.

Our waitress was nice. It had a small town diner feel, which was nice. Our food, though, was not good. Much of it was overcooked and flavorless, not worth what we paid for it really. It wasn't an awful experience, but I doubt we'll be going back.

Enjoyed. Great location. Must stop by if you enjoy history and good American food. I will return.

Nice local restaurant. Huge seafood selection on the menu with very reasonable prices. Pretty outdoor deck for nice weather. Good fish fry.

The staff are very friendly, and wait time for your food is about 10 mins , the food is very good

The wife and I were feeling seafood and looked this place up. Prices didn t seem bad so we figured we d give it a shot. For appetizers we got the potato skins and fried pickles. The potato skins were huge and delicious a meal on its own just for 5.95. The pickles were massive and not what we are used to but amazing. I got the broiled sea food platter and she got the salmon. The fish was really flaky scallops were done to perfections and the shrimp was well cooked. All of it was fresh but one problem NO FLAVOR. The salmon was over cooked and oh NO FLAVOR. The restaurant owner was having a family get together in the restaurant which made things a little awkward but hey it s a family owned restaurant. It reminded us of a nice little bar back home. Will be going back to try other food hoping there is flavor next time.

As a family of seven, 5 young children and 2 adults, going out to dinner is a sacrifice. The service was amazing! The waitress was so friendly and made us feel very comfortable. I got a burger that I can say with all certainty, the best burger I have ever eaten. It had an onion ring, bacon, cheese, jalapenos. So delicious, my wife got a steak and shrimp that almost didn't fit on the plate. The owner came and greeted us as well. Very impressed and will be back!

This place has an interesting decor. When you walk in there are a few doors. I was not sure where to get in. It was just a guess. The dinning area is cut up in a few small rooms. The kitchen is kind of right there. It was somewhat busy but not super busy when I came in. The server took care of us right away. But then that was it. She took care of the other guests. Another server noticed and took care if us here and there. My husband would have had another beverage but no one came to check. When we received our food the clams were good, but clams are not hard to prepare to steam clams.. we ordered the shrimp basket it was good but not great. Then we also had the Italian fish special. It was horrible. The fish wasn't even cooked all the way. They were so neglectful I couldn't even let them know so i brought it home for my dogs. They enjoyed it. I think this is a cute place but seemed unorganized and the food can be a lot better. Maybe it depends on what you get.

Good seafood selections. Great outdoor patio, but service is confusing. Only certain sections receive wait service, others bar/kitchen service only, and the rest only drink service.

A hour and a half wait for our food in a 80 percent empty restaurant. And ignorantly, our salads came WITH the meal. The service was horrible, food was drcent. Completely understaffed.

The worst dinner ever. The scallops were way overdone. Would not recommend this place. Fish fry undercooked..

Not that great. Pro s: The burgers were ok and the dozen steamers were good with no grit. Con s service was poor and very slow; there were only 9 people in the restaurant. Our server rarely checked back with us and it was hard to get additional drinks or anything else. The butter with the sea food was imitation and thick like melfry. They were out of a lot of stuff like haddock and vegetables. The battered shrimp were all doughy batter and no shrimp, the Salmon was dry and over cooked. Nothing was seasoned very well. I got the soul stuffed with shrimp and scallops. It was nothing but a mound of breading. It tasted like stovetop stuffing, yuk. The soul was dry. The whole dish looked like it came out of the freezer and then microwaved. This place cuts corners and the quality of the food suffers for it. I d liken it to eating TV Dinners. The bill came to over $100. Don t wast your time or your money.

Beautiful view of the historic Erie Canal. Easily reachable by car or boat. The food is excellent especially the scallops. We make it a regular stop for dinner. Hometown friendly bar crowd is welcoming as you enter the front door. Inside seating or a beautiful patio when the weather is nice. Large enough for a work gathering or small reception/shower, etc. the staff go out of their way to make sure you have an experience worth coming back for.

My wife and I kayaked over for dinner tonight.

Pros: Burgers were excellent, service was good, staff very friendly, view is incredible.

Cons: Fountain pop/soda refills are not free, dock is not inviting; in disrepair (I believe this may not be owned by restaurant).

We ll be back!

The service was non-existent, the waitress took our food order before she even asked us about drinks. The food was not good, and we waited for over an hour for two fish fries and a kids chicken fingers.. I would never recommend anyone go there until the service gets better and they learn to cook a fish fry without a puddle of grease on the plate. If the waitress would quit smoking out front, and pay more attention to her customers, I would have left more than a pity tip of 4 dollars, and she was actually lucky I gave her that much!!!! I went and tried this resteraunt, and I will never go back.

Arrived by boat and the docks should probably be closed due to structure failing. Then we enter and get stared down by the bar with a look of who are you. Then we Couldn't sit out side because the tables were dirty from a wedding earlier in the day. There was a band that was ungodly too loud for the size of the room and playing in the main dining space during the dinner hour. So inside was unbearable to sit with how hot and loud it was. We stayed to try it out still. We start having a good time and get told by a customer sitting by herself that she didn't like our conversations and would like them to stop. So we sat there waiting for our order for an hour and finally ask what was going on. They say they were really busy but there wasn't many people in the restaurant. Then she says there are 10 tickets before our food even will start cooking. The cook was in no rush bc we could see in the kitchen. So we told the waitress who was very helpful and nice about it to cancel the order. Wish this place was better seeing how close I live by it. But rude customers who feel there values are correct and you shouldnt be aloud to have a conversation bc they feel it isn't something they agree with and such slow food service, I won't be going there ever again.

Got excited for the Ocean Perch on the menu; it was terrible. Waitress did take it off our bill even tho I ate the German potato salad and Cole slaw. Nice place to sit outside.

My fiancee and I went here for the first time with my uncle, aunt, dad and mom and had a wonderful time! We really liked the broiled fish! It was really good! Next though time I will have to ask to get a better sized portion. Mine was very small. My fiancee and I both had broiled fish, but his portion was nicely sized. The view in the back overlooks the Tonawanda Creek and the Erie Canal and is breath taking. My family and I are looking forward to seeing the magic man!

Absolutely horrible.open face steak came on hot dog bun.had mushrooms added they were vinegar and out of a can. Never get us again.

Always an amazing night when I stop at the Ship n Shore. Terrific bartenders every night both inside and out. Not many places can rival the clam bar outdoors on weekends! I'll be back.

Awesome venue, patio over looking canal, beautiful. Super nice bartender. Server though, kind of rushed us from table, stating she needed it,??? Joint was empty, so left a sour note, and when we did leave, the table was still empty. Ha. Great food, good menu selections. Highly recommend.

I had been wanting to go thete for years.We finally stopped in on a Friday night. Before we ate a really nice man did card tricks for my son and also made him a really tall great,Funny balloon hat . The food was really good also.

I ve been here several times, the food is great but service is slow. Love being put on patio. My main concern was I took my parents out to get them out of the house after being couped up throughout corona virus and the waitresses all had masks on but someone was delivering drinks without a mask at all. Highly disappointed they were not following the mask rule ..

Went on Monday 7/24.
Asked what we wanted to drink before we even got to sit down. Told us there was no fish available.
My boyfriend asked for an open faced steak sandwich, waitress came back and said they didn't have steak. So he asked for spaghetti.. didn't have that either. Also didn't have any Mac n cheese. Finally was able to get a burger. Food wasn't bad. But when we got the check we were kinda mad because they charged us full price for everything!!! You would think because they didn't have the items we asked for .. they would at least give us a break. But nope. I will not be going back!

Had the worst scallops of my life here, which is saying a lot because I almost always butcher them at home. Ugh.
