We loved it here! I read other reviews about bad customer service but the staff was excellent when we visited. My daughter enjoyed her birthday and the server and chef made her feel special on her day. The food was really good as well and our chef was hilarious! We'll be back!!
Terrible experience, called about an hour or before going to the restaurant to make a reservation. The hostess said they do not take reservations on Tuesdays (it's their sushi night) no mention of anything else. Me and my wife drove 35 minutes to get there, they said they are not taking anymore walk-in customer's. We explained that we just called ahead of time, they basically said oh well. I called to complain, they explained "that happens". Im a reasonable person but if that's the case on a Tuesday, you should advise a customer you may or may not get a seat. #1 how does a restaurant not have have any other openings for the night(this was at 6:30 pm). #2 how are you done raking walk-in customer's if at the same time you don't take reservations?
Great atmosphere for family fun and groups! Reservations are recommended.

I never ever ever felt obligated to leave a review especially a negative one where do I begin first let me say I understand if a restaurant is busy and I understand high stress environments that said I m going to get straight to the point coming from Avon Ohio we gave this place a shot based off of the good reviews and because our place to go Fujiyama in Avon which is wonderful is closed on Mondays and you guessed it it s Monday chef had the nerve to give me a hard time when I said no sake for our meals He kept questioning my reasoning and I simply had to tell him I have an allergy to alcohol and then he miraculously got the point why would you even have to question someone when they just say no sake Second noodles were supposed to be for my son and daughter he only put for my son mushrooms were not supposed to be put on my wife s plate he put on hers I ordered four eggs cooked on the side for my son he s eight years old and they never even bothered to pull them out drinks were never filled until we finished our meal they sat us by the restroom which smelled horrible and they went and sprayed some air freshener instead of re sitting us somewhere else Last but not least my wife ordered some fried ice cream waited about 20 minutes and then the waitress came back and asked if we wanted dessert even though we previously ordered the fried ice cream we just told her no paid and left Cook was silent the whole time and didn t bother to make the experience exciting at all and the waitress needs a lot of work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Usually pretty good, and this time was too, except that the chef added teriyaki to just about everything... the vegetables, mushrooms, even the lobster. Not a fan.
The atmosphere is great. The service is great. I don't know what it is, but for some reason the sushi just doesn't taste as good as it used to. I really want to love this place. Heck I proposed to my wife in the mini outdoor space of the restaurant (we used to love this place that much)!
First time going out since the pandemic. Clean, felt safe, staff attentive, food delicious!
Shinto is mine and my husband s favorite restaurant. We love the quality and quantity of food you get when you order hibachi. The service is always great, especially when we are lucky enough to get Amy S. as our server! She is super professional while being engaging, she makes sure our drinks are always filled and that our experience at Shinto is one to remember. We highly recommend Shinto and Amy!!!
Amazing quality. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. Many exotic options including shark. Sushi is very fresh
