Shell (Shell Nederland Chemie B.V. @ Moerdijk) Review

This refinery made me like Factorio before Factorio was even a thing. 10/10 would go to again

safety is zero at shell Moerdijk Alberto stegeman should test that here, you enter the site and can go ahead just like with shell pernis.

Shell has arranged a nice excursion for me and my class. It was an educational and fun day, the staff were very friendly and were interested in our future plans.

Good experience with the staff and staff had at times of tanker and / or 30 foot containers with loads of ethylene gas 1040 Kl. 263.

Turnaround after turnaround, until I get the same conditions, I can only keep saying:

Shell it's the best place to do turnarounds.
If you like rules, safety and everything you need to perform a good job, then you will like them also.

They are not big because they're rich, they are big because their people think big.

Only one thing missing. A container or a room with lockers and cctv surveillance, where everyone can leave their phones safe. Phones are the only stuff you can never bring with you into the plant.

To gain access to the site as a truck driver, you must watch a 'safety video' every year. Immediately afterwards
take a test to prove that you have understood the safety video. After that, the challenge really begins. Some companies in this area also have their own 'extra added rules' which you as a driver cannot possibly know in advance. There is already one company established on this SHELL site where the 'added rules' on the sale are different from person to person. Now you may think that everything will go better on your next visit because you now know the 'rules' ...
Wrong! At this company, their extra added rules are changed every minute to the end, making it impossible for you as a driver to know the rules.

Truckers are therefore monitored and checked in such a way that Shell staff loses sight of their own (dangerous) errors. The attached photo of the blazing sea on the Shell Moerdijk site is no longer a surprise.

If you as a transporter receive a complaint coming from this company, it is certainly advisable to also hear the version of your driver (s).

Large chemical factories. A large number of working people. Despite the enormity of the plant, everything is arranged here and works like a clockwork. The plant is divided into two parts. Mspo and Methods, Mlo. Safety is paid here, hence few accidents.

Working for many years as a contractor here with great pleasure. Many rules but with a good goal: everyone back home safely.

i worked on this site in 1991 i found this site one of the safest i had ever worked on in my whole career as apipe fitter .. really enjoyed my time here even tho i was a contractor... worked for wescon eng .. thnak you very much for the experience i got working on such a site ,it also helped me get other contracts in the petro-chemical industry ...
