The course is normally in decent condition but not great when you consider the greens fee. Greens are in good shape but very slow. Tee boxes and fairways are hit-or-miss. Sometimes they are good but a lot of time they are downright awful especially the tee boxes. The real reason for the 1 star review is the people who work there (in the pro shop and driving range). While a few are nice (like the head pro) most are some of the most miserable people you'll ever meet. I don't think it is asking a lot for people in the service industry to treat customers in a friendly manner but maybe it is.

If only zero stars was an option. Club rentals included a mixed set of woods from the 90 s. I got nostalgic when I saw the TaylorMade Ti Bubble 2 shaft, brought me right back to 1996, felt like Tom Lehman at Royal Lytham. Other notable clubs include a 9 degree Callaway Warbird which was the second driver in the bag, an absent PW and a missing 3W. Remarkably there was a 2 Iron with a Winn grip worn right down to the steel. Also the concept of cleaning the rental clubs before distributing was clearly not understood at this compound. There was no food available at the turn, which was around 10am. I wanted nothing more than a beer to ease the arthritis forming in my hands thanks to the 2i. Unfortunately this ghastly estate does not permit the sale of alcohol. Skipped the 17th hole because of slowness. No shortage of Marshall s just clear they don t understand their scope of work. And finally, we return our golf cart and the stately cart person requests that we carry the rental clubs to the bag drop. Is this now the customers job? See above regarding understanding ones role.

Have tried all week to make a tee time, hung up on multiple times or never answered the phone, made a tee time on golf now finally as they would not answer phone when calling no less than 20 times, get up to play at our 10am tee time only to find out is was cancelled at 7:30 in the morning? We have played and loved this course every year for 6-7 years straight and I will refuse to give them my money ever again due to very very poor customer service. This use to be one of the friendless courses we went to years ago. Not sure what happened but it is total opposite of 4-5 years ago.

This is one of my favorite courses in SW Florida. The staff is courteous and the greens are in great shape. The fairways are a bit dry and need some new growth as many of the lies will test even a seasoned golfer. I still highly recommend the course and hope to return soon.

Not a very hospitable welcoming from the hostess who subsequent delegated is for not making or reservation early enough (inspire of calling w days earlier). Turns out they were trying to hold on to a window table that was completely vacant for 2 hours. without even giving us the opportunity to be able to indicate that we could eat our meal within a two hour time frame for the next reservation we were told there were no seats available. in fact there was another table immediately adjacent to us it was also available for the entire time we eat. Seems like a misuse of the space, and poor customer service when we were there to celebrate a birthday. Subsequently we were not greeted at the table or offered anything to drink. Upon getting our food and coming back to the table we requested if we could get anything to drink. Two of us were offered coffee the third person was offered nothing. The third person was having a birthday that day and felt unappreciated. Apparently the hostess had not informed the wait staff that it was a birthday (although she was informed) which seems to have indicated a breakdown of communication. finally some tea was provided but unfortunately the water was only lukewarm hardly sufficient to be able to even steep the tea. by the foot of the table there was used silverware that had not been cleaned up from the prior seating. The buffet was underwhelming and certainly not comparable to other locations in the area. For a resort and spa this would not ranked very well. it would likely be advisable to find another location with a service staff which would probably pay more attention, the food offerings would be more diverse and the care and concern for a special occasion would be granted.

Full service golf and dining, albeit limited off season hours. All grasses are being redone and full service up and running later in the year. Except for being a dry service, food options are just fine.

Very nice. Good atmosphere, food, service. We were there near Christmas and the pastry chef had created a beautiful gingerbread village. Beautiful place to visit. My eight year old was happy there as well.

Beautiful well kept, well managed course. They recently changed the lay out. The back nine is the same, but the front 9 has not been updated for GPS course measuring devices. Set your device to hole number 6, for hole number 1, then back to hole 1 on hole #5, then #10 on 10. No alcohol is sold on the course, BYOB.

The course layout is amazing! Customer service was horrible. Did not want to honor a green fee that was pulled of the internet. After much debate, the Manager finally gave in but was not happy. The Ranger followed our group of 4 on the entire back 9 to make sure we were keeping pace. This is unacceptable when we played a 3.5 hour round of golf. IMPROVE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE! YOU HAVE PAYING CUSTOMERS!

Our family has eaten here many times on Sunday mid day. The Buffett is a little skimpy, but high quality and a good value for $12. Entrees are good and fairly priced around $10-12. Atmosphere is good. Will be back soon.

Set up a Tee Time online only to be told when we arrived that the course was private up until 11am. Drove over 40 minutes to get to the course and instead of giving us a mulligan because their system messed up, we were told there is nothing we can do for you! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Will never come back to this course. They should have made exception.

Beautiful golf course and just challenging enough if you are in the Fort Myers area and want to golf but don't have a membership to one of the country clubs. The greens were in perfect condition and the fairways were too. One thing to note - they don't serve alcohol at the course or in the clubhouse. Overall, we really enjoyed our rounds at Shell Point and would return when back in the area.

Great course just "steps" away from Sanibel and Fort Myers Beach. The course is kept in immaculate condition and the staff is always pleasant. Make sure to call ahead before heading there, they stay quite busy. They just built a brand new club house which is a tremendous upgrade over their old "trailer". They also have a spacious driving range, restaurant, standard pro-shop amenities, and more.

We ate at the Banyan Grille for Thanksgiving. They had a buffet. It was very good. All you could eat of raw oysters and chilled shrimp. Then the t-day usuals turkey, ham, etc. Desserts were wonderful. I basically ate oysters, shrimp, and desserts.

The Golf Course looks beautiful, until you hit the pro shop. The worst display of customer service I've ever seen offered by a golf course. The sheer disregard for somebody's time. After making a tee time and making a 45minute trip, we are informed that our tee time is essentially a mistake and we can't play before 11 as a non member even though the tee time was 3 days prior with no communication further than a confirmation email for our tee time. The guy working the pro shop offered no solution, said he is the one in charge without us asking and telling us he can't do anything other than give us a goodbye. If the earth was eradicated of every golf course except this one I still wouldn't play here.

We enjoyed a nice meal here. It's a lovely area to dine and very convenient access. The end of our meal was a bit awkward and brusque when it came to reconciling the bill (the manager seemed to put a lot of inelegant effort into justifying their decision making) and that put an uncomfortable end to our visit.
