Shell Petroleum Development Company Nigeria (SPDC) is a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell, one of the world's leading energy companies. SPDC operates as part of a joint venture with the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), which holds 55% equity in SPDC. SPDC is responsible for managing all onshore and shallow water oil mining leases (OMLs) awarded to Shell by the Nigerian government.
