I highly recommend Dr Bains and the staff at Shaughnessy Optometry. The clinic is very clean, modern and follows strict Covid-19 guidelines. Their optical also has glasses to fit every budget. I specifically loved their higher end selection (Tom Ford, Maui Jim, Faceaface, and more). My wife, son, daughter and I are new patients to the clinic and went in to have our first eye exam with them. We were promptly greeted by Chloe at the door. Then Yash and Telie took us in individually for our pre-testing and they were really good at explaining the reason for and importance of every test. My previous visits to the optometrist has consisted of 2 or 3 pre-tests but this clinic is very thorough and does 5 pre-tests! They have the most technically advanced equipment I have seen in an optometry clinic. After our testing, we saw Dr Bains. Again, not only was he super thorough but amazing with our kids. He explained everything he was doing and went over all of the images taken and telling us things that he would be monitoring going forward. Previously optometrists have written my prescription down and fed me to the pushy opticians out front. After our exam, Lianne took ample time helping us try on multiple pairs of glasses. She is a wizard at knowing which glasses look good on you. Not once did she just try to push us towards the most expensive pair. We had the best first experience with Dr Bains and his staff and wholeheartedly recommend them.

I have not had a stable optometrist for a few years . I ve been to this clinic in the past but nothing really stood out. This time around , I needed a exam and booked an appointment. I got Dr Bains and found him knowledgeable, well spoken, through, caring and he s a super nice guy. I also noticed the front staff very professional and was impressed with their attentiveness to the customers they were serving . Great job Shaughnessy Optometry. I can recommend to anyone looking for a optometrist.

The most professional help I've ever received when it came to selecting the right glasses and taking the time to adjust them, and so on. A pleasant and professional process, very happy with the work and will certainly return. Eye exam itself was also well done and professional.

My husband and I had excellent eye exams with follow up appointments and the choice of eyeglass frames were outstanding. We received our new glasses at the time stated.

My husband purchased a pair of eyeglasses and new sunglasses which were carefully fitted both for optimal eyesight and comfort when they were received at the optometry office. I purchased 3 new pairs of eyeglasses and a new pair of sunglasses. And as I have to wear eyeglasses everyday, there are more exciting choices of frames to choose from. Lianne White, the manager, pre-selected several frames that she thought best complimented my face and I did choose some of those.

Superior service & support. The friendly staff found very minor damage to the frames on delivery from the manufacturer. I never would've noticed the damage. They advocated with the manufacturer on their own initiative and secured a damage free replacement for me at no cost. That's how you build long term business relationships & loyal customers. Great team!!!

I didn't realize how horrible my old eye doctor was until having an appointment with Dr. Sexsmith. I've never had such a thorough eye examination, where every aspect of my eye health was checked and explained to me in a simplistic and careful manner - she was never patronizing, but came off as an expert in her field. She put my health above making sales, as was very apparent in her desire to change out the lenses I ordered because I was having trouble adjusting to their shape, even upgrading them for me free of charge! Though I prefer wearing contact lenses and was happy to purchase them from her, she highly recommended I reduce my wearing of them. The opticians here are super friendly, and just so lovely to work with, extremely organized and patient and kind. I truly can't say enough. I'm from Ontario originally, and will likely go back there some day - but I will likely be flying out to Vancouver annually to ensure that I get the best eye care possible, and I firmly believe that this is what I'm receiving under Dr. Sexsmith and her team.
