I waited outside in the cold while they were supposed to be open looking to get skates sharpened. Myself and another customer waiting called the store like the note on the door said. Nobody answered the phone or the door. Ended up leaving and going to Sport Chek instead.

The two stars are given to the girls at the cash who served us today. They were nice. The lack of the other 3 stars goes to the rude man upstairs who sharpened our skates. He didn't greet us and grunted when he had to sharpen our skates. We greeted him with a "hello, how are ya" and he grunted what I would believe was hello. It was an older gentleman.
We always try to buy local and Glen and his staff are always helpful with what ever we need. It s great to have a local business that gets you what you need. Thanks
Stayed @ Cedar Grove lodge on thanksgiving & one of my sisters needed a sweater, she went to town and found one @ Sharpley Sports. She said she liked the selection and I loved her sweater, although I did not go into store myself. She said it was great!
Absolutely horrible experience. Will never shop there ever again! I had bought high end skates at another store with a gift card. The past few times I had great sharpenings on my skates at sharpleys as well as profiling done on them. The guy at the skate shop has mostly been rude and abrupt every time but the nice sharpen made up for it. Well, I brought my new skates in to get sharpened knowing I would have to pay extra for them to be done there instead of FREE where I bought them. Not a big deal, I wanted them done right. The guy was so rude and gave me such a hard time about buying my skates somewhere else and he had to point out several times its going to cost me more since they are new. As well he made a big deal about getting his assistant to follow me down to make sure the girls at the register downstairs made sure I paid the higher amount. I had just paid over $900 for skates then opted to pay extra to get them done there, as if I would not pay! We just moved to the area and our family spends roughly $6000 a year on hockey equipment. Not one more cent will be spent there and I will tell anyone that going to this skate shop will threaten to ruin your day. To note as well, when I was waiting a mom and boy about 8 came in for skate sharpening and he was so rude to them about how it would be a wait. The boy looked like he was going to cry and the mom just left. I could not believe the disrespect.
Great service. Purchased a pair of skates today and the professionalism here is off the charts. The fit is perfect and the blade profile and edge is great. Purchased some waterski equipment in the summer and this product is also top notch.
Glen Sharpley is the best! His store is top notch in every way possible, from product selection to customer service. I bought my favorite pair of sun glasses here (Oakley's of course) among many other things; 3 years later and these glasses still look nearly brand new despite all of the wear and tear they've been through. You can't go wrong with the real thing.
I came in here with my dad on Sunday September 30th and two of the girls who we had spoken to, helped us were really friendly. The first girl showed me the product available (sold me on a scarf) and the second was kind and helped me check a pair of boots to see if they were made of real leather (for the price, I like to make sure the quality is there).
Fast forward, my dad and I were waiting on the answer to cash out. One guy who was standing there with sarcasm and contempt in his voice said "it smells like leather, it feels like leather, maybe I should taste it to see if it's leather" It was uncalled for and it'll be my first and last purchase here and I will not be recommending this place to my family and friends who visit. The attitude coming from the guy is very off putting as we were ready to cash out - not continuing the shop. In addition to that, the way he acted turned me off from wanting to spend more money, I was willing to purchase this scarf that I was sold on earlier. One would think a store, including the employees would want to ensure customers leave happy and not with backhanded comments.
The boots purchased were the right fit in both size and style, construction and quality.
