We had a great time the room is awesome and big enough for the kids to be kids. It is my birthday but the stay is all about my wife and kids and they gave it a 2 thumbs up possibly toes are also up. Looking forward to getting Jade membership.

We went there to celebrate our wedding aniversary and boy everything was perfect from the start to the end. All staff were great with 10 star service. Carlito cinco amazing service, tharu great personality and chef hun wonderful food and experiences. Overall experience was superb and definitely we will be back thats for sure. Thank you Shangri la for the wonderfull hotel and world class service.

Although it was expecting because there were times...

Although it was expecting because there were times when the impression of other Shangri-la was good, the impression after check-out is "ordinary"
In particular, it became a hotel club floor that the Horizon Club often sees, and it was a bit disappointing that expectations for customer service and food were large.

The club lounge was mainly used and everyone was friendly and comfortable. For breakfast, I wanted to have noodles or soup. It was a little uncomfortable because it was mainly prepared as a conji type, and the first floor breakfast room was hard to find the staff when the crowd was crowded, and it was hard to get a seat. This was a bit disappointing.
Great pool too. The staff were friendly and always smiled and enjoyed the morning exercise.

Stayed here once before. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. They can handle pretty much any request. Very good breakfast, lots of choice of food types suitable for whatever your needs are

SUPER RECOMMENDED, ALL KIND PERSONS AND WORKING WITH EXCELLENCE AND QUALITY, GREATLY CONGRATULATED TO YONG LONG AND ALL THE STAF OF THE FLOOR 3 IN THE VIP CLUB, WHERE WE PREPARED US A DELICIOUS BEVERAGES AND CANAPES. THE BUFFET BREAKFAST, VERY COMPLETE, RICH AND HEALTHY !!
THE ONLY INCONVENIENT IS THAT YOU DO NOT HAVE A SOUVENIRS SHOP !!

Everything was perfect yet again. After staying with you for 22 years starting with living in the valley Wing for 2 months in 1997 when moving to Singapore, you continue to exceed all of my expectations. Upon check in reception advised me I had 8000 GC points expiring and told me how to redeem them. I would have missed all this value had it not been for her. Even thought my room was not ready, I relaxed in the Gym quiet area meeting Wary who is celebrating 25 years with Shangri-la, and who I have known (and he's known my family) since 1997 at the Valley Wing when looking after my son who was 2 at the time and now 23! Wary is a wonderful professional and made my 5:30am arrival so pleasant. Another compliment is that for some reason I was upgraded to a lovely room. I always stay in the Garden Wing (3-4x per year) but my upgraded room this stay totally exceeded any other stay. Just a shame my wife was not with me this trip to enjoy it. Last, the Waterfall restaurant always has great ambience, food, a good wine list, and great service. I hosted some friends for dinner as I do each trip and was able to use my expiring points both there and at Chi Spa, the latter of which was awesome as well given I have been traveling Asia for 2 weeks (BKK, Nepal and Singapore) and I arrived so early a massage was clearly the perfect reward at the end of a long trip. Keep up the great work Shangri-la Singapore team - your recipe for success is all about your long term employees, their kindness and professionalism and also due to great leadership from the GM and team. The hotel's children play area, also known as Buds...

The hotel's children play area, also known as Buds, was absoulutely wonderful. It not only has sufficient area of play, it also has a baking class, a party area, a painting room where I think it was exremely innovative and creative of them to think of allowing children to paint on walls where the paint can be erased and the wall can be painted on again, and also a music room where people can choose they're favourite songs and dress up to dance and sing. There is also a piano for children to play till their heart's content! The cafe food was delicious and so was the cookies that were baked. The children got to design and choose their own shapes of the cookies, what a great way to train and enhance a child's creativity and imagination! There is also a play area for toddlers to play safely. Buds is very safe from spreading diseas as the staff will check the temperature of each and every child and provide hand sanitizer for everyone before letting anyone in. All in all, Buds is really a credit and an asset to the Shangri-la Hotel.

The onsite services are not bad, porters and front door greeters are friendly and helpful. We needed a cross-border one-way trip to JB for picking up a rental car; a manager at the lobby arranged a hotel transportation (taxi) for the cost of S$280, cash-only. In hindsight that seems to be a rip-off, if not a vastly overpriced service.

Hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels ... and its cleanest and most luxurious ... There are 6 restaurants in Balatwil "all are not halal" ... There is a bakery on the ground floor that is halal ..
We rented a wing .. in the fifth floor ..
The rooms are large with balcony, they look very beautiful with rain
I am very cooperative, very cheerful ..
They made a check for us that one hour, due to the presence of a baby with me, as appreciation of them .. I am very pleased with their treatment and kindness ..

Good housekeeping I stayed on the 18th floor, the house keeping lady was very nice and always helpful.
My shower wasn t hot and pressure was too low, I informed the front desk before I left for a dinner, they had it fixed right away. The only problem that I had was after the repair, the shower was still having hot and cold intervals repeatedly.

We love Buds and will definitely return. It s a bit more expensive than I d normally pay for a toddler softplay but it s definitely worth it. Three hours of softplay for babies, toddlers and young children with an outdoor playground and water play (they close at 7pm).. also cater for birthday parties. Staff were lovely but I would have liked to see a first aid safety certs for them.

I really felt far away from my family on this part...

I really felt far away from my family on this particular trip, when I returned to my room one day the housekeeping team had left a blanket on my bed with a note after noticing that I was using the dressing gown to add weight to my bedding. Instantly it made me feel like someone cared. Thankyou Zhang Qiang what may have been a small gesture for you was a significant one for me.
I also lost my credit card at the Zoo, Shirley was able to track the card down & arrange for it to be held for me for collection.

The hotel is so so , the staff however are either not well trained or poor management/supervisors.

The staff lingers around at the lobby playing with their mobile phone and chatting with each other however each of them are clueless and takes more than 30 minutes to give any basic information and none will called you back, you have to chase them for EVERYTHING including housekeeping.

They opened up their rooms for quarantine purposes and foreign labour workers and it is VERY OBVIOUS that their staff discriminate people who dress casually which is very typical and reflects poor management.

The most courteous and polite staff is the malay uncle who greets guest upon arrival the rest best to avoid.

Lovely room, Horizon Club excellent. Poor meal at The Line, nice to have champagne delivered to room in recognition of this. Had to point out at check-out that we had a $150 credit on our account to be used.

I love the friendly services and the attentiveness...

I love the friendly services and the attentiveness of the staff. The room is big, has a nice design, but I expect the room to be more soundproof. I could not enjoy the stay because I could hear everything that was going on outside the room and it kept awaking me at the middle of the night. It was so unpleasant !!! I hope you fix that issue.

From the time we arrived to the time we left .... every single aspect of our stay at the Shangri La was perfect. Every staff member was kind, courteous, knowledgeable and efficient. The room, dining, pool and gardens were of an exceptional standard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Great experience in all respects during stay in Valley Wing. Perhaps rooms are looking a little dated now and in room equipment & connectivity a little behind modern standards but are well presented and maintained - this is a comment rather than complaint.
Staff, service and facilities excellent.
Breakfast - we ate in Line rather than Summit as extensive buffet suited our chidren better but its good to provide a more tranquil experience in the Summit Restaurant for breakfast.
Surprised no shop(s) in main part of hotel.
Excellent swimming pool & Spa.

We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Shangri-La on Orange Grove Road in Singapore. The staff and facilities were first rate. A few of the staff merit particular mention.
Nesh and Matthew who work the poolside area were very friendly, helpful, and just the type of people who represent the best qualities in service staff.
We also were really impressed by Sarah, Eileen, and Erika who work in the Horizon Club. Again, I believe these people personify the qualities so well suited to the service industries. I'm sure we're overlooking some other really helpful folks, but the ones above deserve special mention.
Just the luxurious and relaxing atmosphere is very special among hotels in Singapore, or anywhere else. Our room was very satisfactory, and we really look forward to another visit in the near future.

We travel to Australia each year from the UK to visit our son and his family. We often take a stop over on the trip ... and if we stay in Singapore, we always stay at the Shangri La. It is a lovely hotel with friendly knowledgeable helpful staff, for whom nothing is too much trouble. And over the years the high standards of the rooms and other areas in the hotel have always been maintained. Lastly, we would highly recommend the Horizon Club option to anyone planning a visit.

Very beautiful place. Exactly what you can expect from a hotel of high prestige. I was at this area during Christmas season and their decorations were exquisite. You can tell that they put in a lot of effort to maintain their standards, especially with how prim and proper their concierge is.

High ceilings for spacious and grand feel, and the premises has it's own fair share of restaurants and amenities to enjoy. A few of the restaurants/bar have an open concept and they hire live classical bands and singers, which especially adds to the high ambience when the pianist starts playing.

They have valet services as well, and bell hoppers opening your car doors once you alight at the entrance so.. If you have a lot of money to spare and want to indulge in what the upper class people have, this is one place you can go to.

We could not imagine a better experience. Our stay at the Shangri-La was heavenly. From the welcome with a beautiful orchid and a glass of champagne, the impeccable and thoughtful house keeping, delicious food, beautiful surroundings, and acommodation for a late check out, from start to finish, our stay was incredible and perfect. We would recommend a vacation at the Shangri La to anyone we know. Thank you so much for a wonderful trip! We will be dreaming about when we can come back!

The hotel and service is fantastic. love the bed and the tub. location is a bit inconvenient though as it is rather far from any shops in orchard. shuttle service is available but the stops and timing are a bit difficult to remember for the way back.

With overseas travel essentially impossible, the next best thing to do IMO would be a staycation. You can't go wrong with the Shang, despite its age, it retains this great sense of space and classiness. Stayed in a suite at the Garden Wing, room was clean & lovely with a resort vibe and a great room service menu. My son had a blast at the indoor playground - extra charges - and the pools.. This is a fantastic hotel for a family, excellent service from the team throughout.

We had a very good stay over Christmas 17 and New Year 18. Our stay could have been excellent with few refinements. The Hotel is going through a magnificent refurbishment putting it back as the premier luxury hotel to stay at in Singapore competing with those on Sentosa particularly with the new for 2018 amazing and enormous Buds Kids Club, Outdoor Kids Water Playground, Best in Class Luxury Family Rooms, Suites and Themed Room with access to every item needed for young children including washing, ironing and food facilities. 15 acres in the city where you feel you are away from the world but right next door to shopping and attractions. Issues during the upgrading related to kids activities and non provision of room facilities for kids were dealt with authentically and to satisfaction.

It was a great experience for my family and me in Shangri-la Hotel. Check-in was smooth and we were able to have an upgrade to a pool view. It was my daughter and son birthday and the room was decorated with birthday sign and balloons which the kids loved it and so did I.

Food at The Line was great, although it was not the usual buffet style but due to covid-19 this was also another good way to prevent food wastage. Only disappointed that there was no oysters during my visit for dinner.

My kids loved the splash and the buds. However my son injured himself in buds while sliding. The staff there was very quick to respond to his cry and immediately gave aid and calmed him down with ice pack and even a small scoop of chocolate ice cream for both my kids. Very thoughtful and caring staff by the name of Christina Tran. Hope some recognition could be done for Ms Christina Tran.

Room service was excellent as well. Everytime I pick up the phone I was greeted by my surname without needing to state my room number. Loved the service. So far this was the best service I encountered in local hotels.

There was a Dino themed during our stay as well. Maybe it was our lucky day as my son loved dinosaurs. A great way to celebrate his birthday too. Thank you.

Maybe 1 small little issue I had. The parking facilities could be improved. There was no elevators for the car parks. It was difficult for me to carry up the luggage to the main lobby. As I did not have the habbit of unloading my belongings by the drop off point and proceed to the parking lot.

Still, I felt this was my best experience so far in local hotel for family with kids. Thank you for the hospitality.

Dinner at the line, quite a bit of renovations. There's now a family area; it has crayons and colour pencils provided at each table. The menu provided for the kids also doubles up as a colouring worksheet. Food was excellent as always, except oysters were not served due to a bad batch coming in. At least the restaurant did inform customers on this when booking online.

Room - Needs renovation. Other hotels with similarly priced rooms are in better condition.
Toiletries - Only one set in shower. No bath toiletries (separate bath set of shampoo, body wash, bath salt, etc.)?
Service - Lobby staff were not attentive. I had to ask them to take my luggage to the room. Other staff were generally helpful. The staff doing the kid yoga were very friendly in particular, although I did not catch their names. The hotel noted my daughter's birthday but missed out on our wedding anniversary. Could have included the message in the same or a separate card that was sent to the room.
Kids club - It was a good decision to build this. We booked the staycation with Shangri-la specifically because of it. Would be nicer if it was included with the room or if hotel guests pay for the club they should be allowed to access the club throughout the duration of the stay rather than a 3h window. Overall facilities were good and well staffed but the activities were not being run as scheduled, not sure why.
Value - Overall it was a good experience but for the price paid some of the above items could be better and and the experience
smoother. Value does not match so I gave a rating of Good (3).
