Shangri-La Singapore Hotel Review

service was good. Had a wonderful night there. location was not as convenient compared to other hotels in the same area.

There are quite extreme highs and lows.

1) Lows
- As a Suite room visitor, check in went through at the lobby, not at Horizon Lounge . Didn't feel we were greeted well.
- Got a room at 4 p.m, almost an hour passed 3 p.m, which made us unpleasant but understandable considering long holiday period.
- Service from employees were not impressive, in general. Able to experience service of excellency from only few working in the lounge. Still remember the look of ignorance from the staff at Line and main lobby. Again, understand that it was busy time but it's not what we expect from hotel.

2) Highs
- Well maintained facilities ; lobby, swimming pool, tennis court, back yard, restaurant, lounge, and room we stayed.
- Good food served at lounge and Line restaurant
- SPA was good, either
- Hillary and Fatin working at Horizon lounge

Good impression mainly comes from the people. One bad memory from trivial treatment can kill nine good ones. Being afraid of generalization of my personal experience but Shangrila needs to upgrade service mind of entire staffs.
I'll definitely come back to Shangrila again for another staycation. Hope I could experience many Hilarys and Fatins at my next visit.

The Tower Wing section that I booked turned out to be a major disappointment with really tired, old and musty rooms. This is trickery!

Brilliant food and drinks. Short walking distance from Orchard Road. Peaceful and serene environment.

went there for a dinner buffet at The Line. the experience was great, there's a wide variety of food including desserts. generally satisfied with the visit.

Always ready to receive guests and customers. Nice hotel, meeting and ball rooms. Restaurants are decent meeting and gathering places.

Melissa ,in the Horizons club, was exceptional. Very personable (as was the others as well). The service was impeccable. The food was excellent!!! Will definitely be back. And my wife was happy she was able to purchase the diffuser! A great reminder of your hotel when we get home!

5 star service, 5 star hotel. Attended my friend's birthday party at one of the halls, and the place was huge. Her hotel room was so big, as if catered for her special day.

For public traffic, not convenient. Ask for shuttle bus from hotel. Or you walk more than 10 minutes to Orchard road.

Lovely indoor play area for toddlers. Can get very crowded on weekends. The lobby lounge local heritage buffet is excellent!

Fantastic hotel, such friendly staff with beautiful rooms. A truly 5* experience.

The room was awesome, with greenery, it was huge and we had the extra beds for my kids as well. The bed was comfy, and most importantly, the service was great! My son was crying as he did not want to check out but 2 service staff (Mica and Audrey) at the lobby came to pacify him with lollipops. This was the icing on the cake on top of a already fabulous experience! Buds and splash zone was fantastic as well! If only the kids could stay for a longer time in Buds!

The poolside Italian called Waterfall also has gelato.

The Resturants (Shang Palace, The Origin) The Rose Veranda, The pool, the environment garden are excellent

It will be recommended to take a taxi or Uber to the hotel, even though it is possible to walk from Stevens Road. Went there for a wedding dinner, and the service is good.

Breakfast was excellent. Best ever!

Lifeguards at pool were attentive.

Hotel hardware is worn and old.

My husband and I had a wonderful stay here. The customer service was excellent as expected. We had breakfast in the main restaurant as well as at the Horizon Club lounge. The latter was more enjoyable as it was less crowded. In-room dining was delicious. Very clean gym and lovely pool. We look forward to staying here again next time we visit Singapore.

My husband's 40th birthday celebration took place seamlessly and Eugene, the Manager of The Line ensured our guests' safety amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, while maintaining the quality in their dining experience. He also put in a lot of time and effort in organising the event together with me for months prior to the event, for which I'm very grateful. Outstanding service that was above and beyond his call of duty. He and his team did a fantastic job. Kudos to Shangri-La for having such dedicated staff on board. We were elated throughout the duration of our stay and still think back to the beautiful memories created there, which was made possible by Eugene and his team. I hope this compliment is passed on to them.
The room held simple and pleasing birthday decorations and coupled with the complimentary birthday chocolate mousse cake and handwritten card, it was a pampering welcome indeed.

The staff was exceptionally pleasant and the hotel was superior.

The best hotel with restaurants that I love to go. Staff is superb.

Was there for a company event. Ballroom was good and had a very pleasant setting for approx. 180-200 headcounts. Ambience was nice and they provided refreshments throughout the event. Service was prompt with a staff always within vicinity outside the room. Had lunch at The Line and as a return visitor, I'd say that their food has been consistently good and never fail to disappoint. Their teh tarik is now replaced with a machine dispenser though, not an issue. Will look forward to coming back here again. Thumbs up!

The hotel is a little walk from Orchard Road in about 15 minutes ... kindly ... the hotel breakfast is very varied ...

Food is excellent with a good variety of spread. You'll never regret on the food you take from local flavours to international cuisines. Save room for desserts as you'll be spoiled for choice. I love that the fruits drinks and soft drinks are available for self service. And if it's the durian season and your a fan, my, your in for a treat!

My stay was perfect as I felt like I was on holiday despite being on a business trip. I loved the greenery, peace and quiet. It allowed me to rest and relax throughout my stay. The staff are also very professional and courteous! I would love to go back again. Your hotel is is my favorite so far.

From the moment you walk in you feel truly welcome. Excellent service. Impecable rooms. The only drawback is that it's a long walk to the key areas of Orchad road. Other than that, just perfect

Excellent service but not perfectly clean. A lot of strands of hair on the carpet from previous occupant. More thorough cleaning of carpet.

Friday 7th the breakfast at the Line was an unpleasant exception. I was met by a lady a little bit older than the young smiling girls that is normally there. The lady on Friday did not believe that I was staying at the hotel. She asked me for, and noted my name, as the only one on the list. She also told me several times how much I would be charged for the breakfast. I did not feel welcome at all.
(I have to admit that I was dressed very casual, since I was on my way to Chinatown).
I love the hotel, and I always want to stay at your hotel when in Singapore, and this is the one and only thing I have to complain about.
The room was nice, and I love details as makeup table and makeup mirror with light.
The new outfit of the staff looks very nice. (but may be it is time to upgrade the men that welcomes the taxis)
As a European: on top of you amazing breakfast, I would love a better (European) bread selection.

A class hotel with elegant architecture and design, perfect service.
Breakfast is an eye-catching decoration with mainstream orange. Breakfast dishes are plentiful, delicious, especially croissants.
The Italian restaurant in the hotel is a place to enjoy, even if you are somewhere else. Fresh pizza. Good wine. Beautiful indoor or outdoor seating.
The most special of the hotel is a large, long and attractive swimming pool for those with good swimming skills.

The atmosphere is very nice and fancy. The surroundings are grand and good for photos. The food is a bit disappointing for the price paid for the meal. The service and amenities are good

The best buffet spread in Singapore. Really love how much work is put in here and always a pleasure coming here. Staff are superb. Love this place.

Its just as good as u expect a 5-star hotel to be. I personally like its fancy room-operating system that helps u turn on lights and curtains from your bed.

Food is just good. Clean. But a bit far from MRT. They offer a transportation to MRT anyways. Note that that transportation doesnt allow u to carry a luggage along!

Ate a family dinner at Shang Palace. Food was good. Service was excellent. Will definitely come back again. =)

One of the best hotels i stayed at. I recommend it! Staff is nice and very helpful. The pool area is great! Food is delicious! Location is amazing! When u go there, try their strawberry margarita! Delicious!

We had the most incredible staycation at the Shangri-La with my husband and twin 6 year old boys. We loved it so much we have already booked our next staycation at the hotel in January. Every single staff member from reception staff, cleaning staff, pool staff, restaurant staff, all the staff were so very professional and friendly.

Our boys loved the splash zone and Buds. The best kid friendly hotel you will find in Singapore. But if you are also looking for a quiet and romantic hotel, this is the hotel for you.



Cannot wait to come back to the hotel in January.

A wonderful stay. Everything is perfect everything is of high quality. An extraordinary staff and our only wish is to come back very quickly.

Tried buffet lunch at The Line restaurant, good range of food choices. Desserts are fantastic so is the ice cream bar. Really wish i had another stomach to try everything.

Quite a distance from mrt station. However the service provided by The Line (restaurant) is good.

Awesome experience, nice ambience, rooms are very spacious, full of greenery, beautiful and clean garden and swimming pools. Nice location, must stay. They have kept my baggage for 3 days after checkout. Their ground hotel staff from security guard to receptionist all are very polite and helpful and never intended for the tip. All the staff are awesome. Food was very tasty and many varieties.

5 days spent my time in Shangri La suite. Was my great experience. Huge suite with 2 bedroom 4 extra toilet. Kitchen & huge dining hall. 2 living hall. Beautiful scenery u can get from that suite. It's worthy for ur money. Food very delicious just a bit turtle in preparing an order from private dining service & sometimes quite rough. Overall great.

Great stay with fun activities for the kids!
Hotel was at high occupancy but they handled it well and did not encounter any delays.
Room had a lovey balcony but the outdoor furniture was not well maintained (e.g. dried leaves, insects) thus would suggest for them to pay special attention to those areas.
Overall it was still a great experience for us so kudos to the team!

Ballroom was grand. The perfume in the lobby was very inviting.

The airport pickup was great with no mishap. The room key was prepared for us once we arrived.
Breakfast was a bit under quality for such a five star hotel, but selections were abundant.
Trip to the airport was also a breeze.

Was there to work an ad hoc job, for a talk, held there at Shangri-la hotel. So I've only been to the function hall. But it's nice. Just to get to the hotel. It's quite deep in. Nice I'd say. Feels atas. Not cheap. Exclusive. But what would I know. Was just doing an ad hoc job there.

For sure is Shangri-la hotel/ Valley Wing the place to stay in Singapore.
Excellent service. By all means "my second home, away from home". The service offered comes really " by heart". In one word: FANTASTIC !!!
