Great location, 5-minute walk to May 4th Square, and 2-minute walk to the largest mall in Qingdao. For business travellers, the upgrade to use the 20th floor lounge is well worth for business chats/casual meetings.

Swimming pool can improve in terms of size and appearance.

This is my four-day Qingdao trip, but I was deeply moved by the hospitality and enthusiasm of the staff around the hotel.
Check in: From the entrance hall, Cynthia, the lobby manager, saw us rushing over when we waited in line for check in. Please take us to the high-level member reception desk and carefully ask about our itinerary and needs to apply for the room card quickly, in order to give us a better. The check-in of the accommodation also raised the room type, and chose a well-oriented room. Although it was a room booked on a general reservation website, it was unexpectedly received a VIP reception, which made this light travel a very good start. .
House Keeper: I really want to praise Miss Huang Yanqiu who arranged the room for us on December 9th and Miss Han Yanhong on December 10th. I saw two small stickers from the housekeepers, and I was very careful about Miss Huang Yanqiu. The fruit and tea bags and mineral water specially prepared for us are made by the tea. I moved directly to the social networking site, and the handwritten text is too hot.
Breakfast: I ordered Cappuccino when I entered the restaurant. I didn't expect the second lady to ask me, Miss, still drink Cappuccino today? I was shocked, I couldn t tell you more, Im just so impressed! ! This kind of attention is remembered and moved. There is also the supervisor of Yipintang who left in the morning. After knowing that we have to catch up with the afternoon flight, we have specially prepared a small meal for us. We don t know what to say.
I travel a lot of business every year, and I have lived in a 5 star hotel. But it is so unforgettable that so many excellent employees are concentrated in one hotel. Thank you for giving us such a warm and beautiful accommodation experience. Thank you. A few warm hospitality. I had a tangled struggle before Westin and Shangri-La, but this wonderful experience made me know that I didn't choose the wrong one. Thank you, I will definitely come back later.

It was so good.
It was said to be the best hotel in Qingdao, and it was well known. I agree.
I am willing to stay again next time I travel to Qingdao.

I stayed in the hotel twice during this visit. 1st time in the new wing and second time in the older wing. First was for three night and the second for one night.
I saw a difference in treatment during both stays. Obviously when you pay more money, they treatment is better.
The second stay was sub-par, and the room lacked basic supplies. For example, there was no bottled water. The bath room did not have moisturizing cream-- there were similar very subtle deficiencies. Perhaps there was no attention to details.

Everything was pretty good. I only had a little bit of a problem with the guest room that I stayed in (1551).
This room was quite cold, especially in the bathroom. I think it may have been because this was a corner room, but i couldn't feel any heat in the bathroom.
When i ordered room service I wasn't given an napkins or butter for the bread or French toast.
But overall I thought the staff service and facilities were great. I would stay in Shangri-La hotel again.

1) I would like to thank YUM Cafe Manager (morning shift), he helped me to communicate with the local tour company on 8 Feb 2019 in order to let me and my wife can catch up the coach bus on time.

2) Even though the cafe was very messy during CNY holidays breakfast time with crowded of customers, he still explained to me patiently and also show me the local snacks.

He really can demonstrate the true meaning of "hospitality"

The staff at the Valley Wing never disappoint. Always impeccable service and always a smile on everyone's face help to make a difficult work trip such a pleasant experience
Kenta is always so helpful in taking care of any arrangements we may need. Also Tina, Gina, and Rita are people that are always so helpful and so nice. Their warm smiles and such pleasant ways always make this such a nice place to come back to!!
Even the chef was such a pleasure preparing what he could for me when I wasn't feeling well.
Loved coming back to the beautiful nightly treats in our room every night!

The arrangement of the breakfast at Yipintang is quite confusing. The quality of the food is average. The quality of the food at Shang Palace is also normal. There is no special style!
Compared with other groups, the hotels in the same group are inferior!

The best hotel atmosphare i have experient.
There is just 1 point i don't like - and this is the system where the staff get rated.
All staff give excellent service and are warm and gentle - but please don't ask customers to rate them.
the name cards for staff should not be needed to hand to guests. I always remember good staff by faces or name on clothes.

People always speak highly of the Qingdao Shangri-La Hotel, and this time we finally got the privilege of enjoying our time at this property.

The service and hospitality provided was beyond perfection, we simply felt home away from home.

Staffs are nice and very helpful. I m appreciate Ms Crystal Cai. She is very helpful and guide us a lot how to visit some tourist area.
Bad experience is due to the Navy meeting and causing a lot of restaurants closed and very limited room service. The security guy wants to open my luggage outside hotel when day 1 I was arrived.

One of the best Hotel in Qungdao. I was staying in this hotel for 2weeks and services was the best in this city. For foreign people it will be better if they make some good places have food. Also location is in middle of city so it really is good to travel to other places. Recommend you to stay here.

Chinese based and lambsteak description, when it should be lambchop. Lamb was not lamb,but mutton, and terrible.
I travel on my own and use room sergice a lot. A decent room service offer is important to me.

1. the front deck attitude are bad, specially Mr Fang. As i been a long trip and arrival Shangri-La, i feel tried and still had a lot of pending issue for my trip are not yet settle. How come i still need to feel so impolite attitude and make me so embarrassed.
Untill now, i think i had stay at Shangri-La near 60 night of this year and never had this situation before.

2. You had a Golden circle count at the lobby, how come i wait there for a long time and all the front desk only serve another customer, i keep waiting and they seem no one to see me and keep serve another customer, what is the using for my golden circle membership? or i should go to horizontal club?

3. The breakfast, deeply sorry to inform you that, this is the worst experience i had been stay in Shangri-la before, poor arrangment, poor serving, the food are not heat.

4. finally last day i check out around 12 noon, the lady ( front desk manager) started make me feel comfortable, but i already leave Shangri-La. i would like to say Thank you to her.

5. I really need to consider if i visit Qingdao again, should i change the hotel.

The location of the hotel is central and perfect. All the hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Needless to say, food and beverages at Shangri-La Hotel are always excellent and up to expectations. A wonderful experience indeed!

I stayed this time, the overall is very good, but some small places want to talk about:
First, the housing door is not good, you have to force another top to determine the relevant, I encountered a time to go back to the room after breakfast, the top of the door will open.
Second, when sleeping at night, the sound of the air conditioner is faintly metallic friction, which makes people sleep very uneasy.
Third, because this time there are a large number of people staying together, we have to order the breakfast room every day with the restaurant, but even if it is booked, it will be occupied by two or three days, which makes people feel that the package is reserved. It seems to be useless. Although it was all resolved smoothly, it felt like I had to try my luck every day with breakfast.

Some people say that excellent employees are the jewel of the hotel, and they take it for granted. Temporarily decided to go to Qingdao to celebrate his father's birthday and book Qingdao Shangri-La for the first time. Fortunately, I contacted Gina. From warmly helping to answer travel questions before staying, to arranging the room properly, to carefully preparing the birthday surprise, we were very moved, far exceeding our expectations for the hotel.
I think this is also the epitome of the hotel's outstanding service level. The staff at the breakfast room are equally proactive and enthusiastic, leaving us with unforgettable memories.

Very satisfied with my stay in Qingdao especially the service from valley wing lounge staffs. Luna xu was great and helpful in making my stay enjoyable and comfortable. Will definitely stay with Shangri-la Qingdao if I return to Qingdao in the near future.

Nice hotel, good facilities, great rooms and amenities. The staff were super-friendly and most spoke excellent English. I would like to give Ms Dora Pan a special mention. She was super-polite, very friendly and helpful! Thanks Dora and the whole team. I will definitely stay at the hotel again on my next visit to Qingdao.

Please help arrange some Indian vegetarian food for breakfast / lunch / dinner. One of the main reasons i stay at Shangri La is because Indian vegetarian food is available at other Shangri La's . Also please expedite transfer GC points to Cathay miles , was told it takes 4-6 weeks , need it done by 7th May as i am short of some points for a ticket purchase.

Always feel like coming home whenever stay with the hotel. The staff is always friendly with smiles on their faces and cares for every single details of the service. I particularly enjoyed service in Business Centre in the Vally Wing. I will be back soon.

The rooms at Shengshige are luxurious and comfortable, and the buffet breakfast is varied and delicious. Staying at the Shangri-La Hotel, Qingdao is a wonderful experience.

This hotel is in a good location, a few minutes away from the sea, the subway system and a large international shopping mall. The rooms are large and comfortable, with a variety of TV channels including CNN. Wifi is free. Breakfast here is astonishingly good - an amazing range of food, from hot to cold, Western to Chinese, some fresh cooked in front of you. Food in some of the other restaurants in the hotel has also been good, all accompanied by the local beer, of course. This is a luxury hotel brand, and feels like one. Impressive.

I have written a review in Trip Advisor.
Everything was excellent but for the cigarette smoke in our room on the first night and last night of our stay. We were staying in Room 1259 but the cigarette smell came in through the vent in the bathroom and the smell was very bad particularly the last night. I do not believe that management is policing smoking on a non-smoking room very effectively. Mr Goto was helpful by giving us an air filter but he was not able to locate the source of the cigarette smoke. Personally if caught I think the occupant should be ejected.
