Though quite a many moons have passed since the prime days of fun-filled, debaucherous nights of "Neverland" [aka:University], even a 30 something, well into the mandane years of domestic living, we come to appreciate and acquire a new perspective on raising the spirit-... pun intended! OK, so I'll cut to the chase. If you're a 30 something, 50 something, or pretty much anyone over 21,who enjoys a drink from time to time, and you live near the Highland, NY area, there is just the perfect little liquor store for you, right on 9W Southbound. You can't miss it, this appropriately titled establishment called Shamrock,, logo and all. If you are someone who hates choices, then the best advice would be to stick to some beer or malt beverage. This place has it all!!! From Wines of nearly all nations grapes could possibly be grown, you'll enjoy the hunt alone, for that perfect bottle. And that's not all folks, there is a surplus of various rums, gins, bourbons and other spirits. They even have a fabulous Sake Collection. The store is spotless, the owner is a very friendly and welcoming business owner. The staff is exceptionally warm, helpful, and personable. That's a dime a dozen in this day in age where good customer service is almost non existent. . The prices are reasonable, and it seems that there are always promotions, deals, or discounts in some way or another. . And the coolest addition, - the. Belly Rewards Program. They'll even set you up with your own card and it is free, which you can use in so many other places that participate in that points program. Overall great place, why bother driving to New Paltz through mobs of people only to find that all the New Paltz pages are closed, and Shamrock is open 7 days a week, and almost always until 11pm!

Amazing array of wines. The employees share their knowledge and experience so that you walk out with exactly what you want. I described a wine i had on vacation, and they found a match i like even better. When i went back, i expressed how much i enjoyed their recommendation, and they suggested a few more from the same winery. No more buying wine that falls short of my taste and expectations. I don t shop anywhere else anymore. Thank you Shamrock!

Now if you live in Poughkeepsie or Dutchess County side of the river I think the best feature here is the fact it's I open to 10:30-11pm depending on the night. Unlike here all the liquor stores close by around 8pm.
The store itself is very easy to find don't have to drive to fast double lane, town speed. Helps if you never been there. Good average size, selection, an only a few miles from the bridge.

The prices are fair, since it's the closest liquor store in Ulster County from Poughkeepsie. This is a huge convenience since liquor stores in Dutchess County close a lot earlier than ones and Ulster County.

Could possibly be the liquor store that is open latest in the area, which is really convenient. A friend and I were headed back to New Paltz from Poughkeepsie around 9:30 on a Friday night and were excited when we remembered that this store would still be open. (I've noticed a sketchy crowd in the parking lot at times, but I don't hold that against the establishment - I've seen them refuse service to underage patrons with fake IDs and I feel as though they are reputable.)

Unbelievable selection. This place Always has something new and exciting here. Love the beer section of the building as well with tastings of their beer on draft to buy in growlers. Amazing place. Haven't seen anything this nice since my vacations to the beaches in Delaware. Highly recommend!!

Their machine didn't read my Puerto Rico driver's license, but they were nice enough to sell me the liquor without being able to ID me!

Shamrock has a good selection of spirits that will not disappoint most. Clean and stocked, you will probably find what you are looking for. Good amount of parking, nice employees. A good spot.

A little more corporate so you lose the thing that make mom and pop liquor stores worth going to, but Shamrock has a wider selection of goods.

Not smart buisness owners! We purchased a substantial amount and it s our first time trying this store! They have a card that if you spend over $100 you get a stamp for a future discount. They would only give us 1 stamp and said it has to be separate transactions. (Our purchase was close to $300) They re product is also priced a couple dollars higher then Mid-valley wine and Liquor however if they were smart they would have given us the two stamps and we would have been loyal customers! We will stick to Mid-valley!

Dropped in unexpectedly on my way to a friends house as I forgot to stop at my usual store and found this place was a real gem. The selection is better than many other stores in the area. I found a brand I have not found in any other local store. I have stopped in twice since and the staff, which I assume, was the owner and his wife/partner? were very helpful and pleasant and more importantly made several excellent suggestions of affordable wines to suit my taste.

This is the only liquor store I shop at. I don't mind driving across the bridge. In Poughkeepsie, all the wine and liquor stores must close at 7pm. Even if it's before 7, I still will drive to Shamrock. This place is always clean and they have a huge selection. They just expanded, however I haven't experienced the new side.

Great place to shop. Spacious, open floor. Done feel cramped walking down iles of shelves. Very comfortable environment to shop in. Staff here are awesome and knowledgeable.

Prices are amazing as compared with the Poughkeepsie side of the river. It's literally cheaper for me to cross the bridge and buy my liquor at Shamrock. Seriously. $6.00 cheaper. No joke but I do it on principal alone.
