Paddy/Alan and all the staff are excellent in welcoming people to their family run hotel. I highly recommend this hotel for any break away or for family occasions and business meetings. The food is always of a very high standard and all members of staff are very welcoming...on arriving to the hotel..

Great hotel. in a fabulous location. We really enjoyed the time we spent there. Food in bar was excellent at a reasonable price with friendly service. Breakfast was delicious, generous and varied and catered to all tastes. We really recommend the shamrock lodge. Thanks

Great location for exploring the Midlands Shannon region. I found the staff very friendly and willing to make our family's vist as good as possible. The rooms are bright and very tastefully designed. The food was very tasty and honest and served prompt and the portions were more than adequate. The bar was very nice with a good atmosphere with live music at the weekend. Overall we would as a family be definitely be back for the value as much as the friendly staff and good food .

We rented a villa on the grounds for a friends wedding. It was excellent value , it was like renting a serviced flat.

The feeling of being welcome makes it worth the visit. The friendliness of the staff and its owner in trying to help you is refreshing and the food is good. Its tranquil surroundings even though it is in a town also refreshing.

Spacious rooms with smart TV. Staff really helpful. Only a few minutes from Athlone Town.

Food there is just about ok. Service at the bar & restaurant can be slow. Hotel itself is clean and staff are friendly.

Great place to stay with brilliant rates for breakfast also. Breakfast didn't have beans (need beans with a fry) which we were disappointed with but overall a great stay.

No WiFi, no plugs beside bed, dated decor but the staff are friendly

got married here on Friday and everything was perfect from the moment we booked. they made sure everything went smoothly for it and really helped to make our special day perfect. the dining room was lovely, everyone spent the evening complementing the delicious food and the beds were super comfy. what more can I say but thank you for an unbelievable experience.

We were guests at a wedding recently. The staff at the Shamrock Lodge are a super troup - it's admirable who well organized they are when catering for large parties. Every table was attended to so quickly band always with a smile. The food and service is second to none always.

It was absolutely fabulous great staff great service great food it was just brilliant hope to be back again soon

I stayed here during a course and it was a lovely run hotel with friendly staff and good food. The location was excellent.

Xmas party very poor. Radisson far better. very little room for guests, looks like its done for money not quality ,no snacks, xmas cracker 1 for aprox 6 ppl.Food so so Room quality i dont know. Only + big carpark

Room smelled of smoke and was a little dated. Food in restaurant was amazing although it took a little time to come. Grounds are relatively small, however nice and well kept. Hallways a little dull. Exterior of building could do with a freshen up.

Stayed for a break midweek, had a very enjoyable time. Hotel staff very friendly , food and accommodation good. Would go back again.

Great staff lovely food great venue for weddings parties etc can't beat it it's the best hotel in athlone for any function if you have children plenty of outside space to bring them for walks or play

Requested wheelchair accessible room. given a 2 bedroom family suite beside the main building. it was dirty, stains every where on carpet and chairs, it wasn't even hoovered as crisps on ground. My biggest concern was my 1 year old could open the front door as you couldn't lock it and was able to run out onto the car park. MASSIVE HEALTH AND SAFETY CONCERN. The girls on reception where lovely and tired everything to try and get us to stay however, no other rooms available, so refunded me. So had to drive 2.5 hours back home again. Will never stay there again.
