Long story short, went there to have work done on head, took them a few weeks to tell me none of there suppliers had parts but would be machiend. Three stars because ordered part online and had it done else where in less than week.
Friendly folks, couldn't help me with my problem, but they reccomended someone who could.

I left my engine there for over 5 months for a rebuild, I ended up getting it back in pieces and paid them over $800.
I have a 3.8 Mustang V6 I told them the reason I brought the block to Shacklett's because I wanted to get a cam and crank to stroke the motor to a 4.2. After 5 months they had only completed my machine work. I was told if I put a crank and cam in the engine I "might" get a check engine light, I expected them to know this information but they never did any research to find out. I made one call and 3 minutes later learned it just was not work it to increase the HP of a V6. With them not touching the block in 4 months I went and picked it up. I did not think it was going to be $800 nor do I feel they should charge me that much since I took my block there for a complete rebuild but they only did the simple stuff.
Currently this engine is sitting in my garage, completely torn apart, just like I picked it up. My plans are to try to figure out how to put it back myself. In hind sight I should not have paid them a dime! They screwed me over, said they could do the work, they could not, but they charged me full price for the work they did.
I took my tractor block there and had sleeves put in it and it s perfect

These are great folks - they gave me excellent advice on a set of heads and did some machine work on my block quickly and for a very reasonable price. A great place to work with - I will be back when I rebuild my next engine.

I cannot possibly express in words how much I trust these guys. I have done engine swaps before but never actually rebuilt one from block to stock. John at Shacklett took his time in helping me figure out what would be best for my build. It was going in a boat I was restoring. He took his time and explained why I needed to do everything. Everyone there was really friendly and you could tell they run their business like a family and not by the numbers. My experience with this first build will make me a life long customer. I didn't shop prices with other places because sometimes you just can't put a price on the value of experience, customer service and trust. These guys got it all. I saw one of the other reviews noted they had been waiting 2 weeks and were upset. Please know that about 8 weeks ago one of their main machinists was suddenly diagnosed with a rapidly progressing terminal illness and passed away. I'm sure that caused a little backlog but I can assure you it's worth the wait to work with them.
I used this shop several years ago to overbore the cylinders in an Evinrude outboard motor. This particular block used 2.5" cylinders and a blind bore so it was difficult to find a shop that was equipped to handle this work. They do excellent work. They told me it would be about a 3 week turnaround that turned out the be about 6. Very good shop, but don't expect next-day service.

Go here with your machine shop needs, especially with the work no other place wants to tackle. I really can't recommend them highly enough - they're awesome.
Took me engine here to be cleaned and checked for cracks. I have been waiting for 4 weeks and still no explanation from them. Have been out of a car for a month now because I trusted an unreliable shop.

EDIT: Took my Trickflow heads to these guys. The heads needed to have the guides checked, valve job surface and cc'd. The guides were too tight so they reamed those to the correct clearance, milled off enough just to clean the surface. Cleaned up the seats and lapped the valves and cc'd one chamber so I would know where I was on my compression. Did a great job with an excellent turn around time. Couldn't be happier.
