Volunteered here. Great people and a worthwhile cause. Two hour shifts of hands on work sorting food for distribution. Probably best to go with a group to make the time pass and have more fun. Uber is pretty savvy in finding it so transport is good; they have parking on - site, abs the 22nd street Caltrain is about a block away.

My wife and I have volunteered here a few times over the years, and it's always fun and rewarding. After a day or week at the office it's a nice change to be sorting cans or packing boxes of food.

Great people, doing great work. We did a team volunteer activity here to help pack up food. We worked up a sweat and had a great time. I recommend volunteering here. They can always use helping hands and they do so much for our community.

Wonderful. I love volunteering at the SF Marin Food Bank.I started about 5 weeks. I try to go weekly. I bring my teens on the weekends. They love it as well. The staff whom I have come to know by name are great. They make our projects fun and all of them genuinely enjoy what they do. I can't say enough about the time that I give at the SF Marin Food Bank. To know I am helping to feed those in need means the world to me.

We volunteer here with our kids to both help the community and for school credits. The food bank is very nicely run...clean, well organized, and the people who lead the volunteer groups have good energy and are dedicated. Thank you all for the important work that you do, and for having a well run facility.

What a fantastic resource. My friends and I run Free the Need and it just would not be the same without the food bank. There is so much surplus in they centralize it and make it easy for us so we can spread it around.

How could anybody give these guys less than 5 stars. Volunteering here is a fun way to give back. Packing rice, or pasta, or separating oranges out. I am here twice a year, and never regret volunteering that time.

Great organization that delivers food to over 400 local nonprofit organizations to help those in need. Volunteers work daily to help sort, pack, and shelve food such as apples and other produce in order to feed the hungry. There aren't many organizations like that out there reaching over 200,000 people.

It's easy to volunteer and I recommend that everyone give what they can in order to help those less fortunate. There is an online calendar in which you can pick your volunteering schedule making it easier for everyone involved. Just sign up and work away.

Thank you SF Food Bank!

Godsend to the community. Local non profits can sign up to shop for their program participants (for ppl in need in SF Marin County). Great work fighting food waste. Organization shoppers ask for Henry he knows it all and will help you out. This place empowers me to make sure our Boys & Girls Club is a hunger free zone where kids can learn important kitchen skills like cooking raw chicken.

This is a great place to volunteer. The work is easy, and very well-coordinated. The staff are friendly and efficient. They have everything super organized, so it's easy to step in and get to work. At the end of your shift, they tally all you've done and announce a final total of food pounds processed. You leave knowing that you've done some important work for the community.

The Food Bank is a great place for groups of all ages to volunteer, from ten year-olds to seniors. It would be a good place for a company volunteer event, too. Just make sure to plan several weeks in advance. The Food Bank can't accommodate groups as walk-ins.

Who would off though that Food Bank Employee could be racist.I apply for a job If I wasn't qualified that's fine, but you don't need to humiliate me with a nasty remarks, Just because I'm a minority that doesn't meant that we are stupid. I went to school . I don't need to go back to school.

I volunteered at the SF Marin food bank one evening. It was a really great experience. The staff was detailed in explaining how to bag the food and the importance of doing so. The 2 hours flew by so fast and it was great to accomplish something as a team.

Overall, the mission of the SF Marin food bank is so important and I would highly reccomend anyone to come volunteer here.

Did some repacking work with some folks from our office for Veteran's Day. Was fun, I mean it was work but fulfilling work once you hear the downstream effects of it. Pretty interested to drop in again. It's a block from 22nd St Caltrain so a good way to take advantage of that monthly pass one of these weekends.

A great place to volunteer your time and energy to make sure food gets to those who may not otherwise have enough to eat.

Volunteering is easy if you're an individual or group--their online sign up is quick and fast, and their volunteer coordination in their warehouse is seasoned and efficient. Last weekend a group of ~50 of us sorted and packed 43,000 pounds of apples and pears for SF Unified School District in less than 3 hours! It was gratifying to know the impact of your effort at the end of shift. The volunteer coordinators played fun 90s music the whole time and us older kids would sometimes break out in song :-)

Street parking is very easy in the neighborhood and the 48 bus stops nearby.
